Slow when system 1 TB Store.E USB drive connected

Hello

I bought a Store.E USB 1 TB drive.
After installing the drive system reacts very slowly when the disc is access after not being not to use for a while.
Is there a sleep mode and if so, she deactivated?

I think that this happens because external 1 TB HDD must be scanned and indexed by system once the HARD drive has not been used for a while

You can try to check the power of Windows 7 options.

I recommend you disable the option for USB ports to save energy.

I understand that when you connect your USB that all works well for 1 to 2 hours, then the connection is lost and you do not have access to this more.  If you disconnect (unsafely) and you reconnect then you still have access and it responds.

You had this problem before you upgrade to Windows 10.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers?

If you USB drive is a hub, try to connect directly to the USB port on the laptop.

    Please check this setting.

Go into the Device Manager and click on Bus USB controllers.

On the USB root hub, then right-click and choose Properties.

    Click the power management tab.

If allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is checked please, uncheck it.

  • Windows Explorer hangs when copying large files on external USB drive

I'm trying to copy files over 1 GB of my pc to a WD MyBook external drive. After about 10% on the progress indicator, Windows Explorer crashes. When I cancel the work, nothing happens until I unplug the USB. Then I have the pc returns to normal.

During my research, I discovered that a lot of people have this problem. I have tried many suggestions, but without result. The last thing I tried was a full format the C: drive with a fresh install of Vista. Copy a large file gave me the message 'Calculating time' infinite. After you have installed SP1 reappeared the problem as explained above.

Some of the things I've tried:
check the external hard drive: no problem found and the problem occurs on all my MesLivres 3
    safe mode
    Superfetching disabled
    update the motherboard bios

Now my last request resource helps professionals. If I don't find a solution I'll have to go back to XP, achieve Win7 or one rating for Mac... a lot of things to think about.

  • No option to create recovery/usb drives

I used my x 220 laptop for a year now and I am trying to port my OS on to a new drive mSATA I recently installed, but cannot create recovery disks to do this. I use rescue and recovery 4.5 for windows 7, but I don't see any option to create recovery/usb disks. I see only options to create a backup of my regular HARD drive and "create recovery media", which only seems to copy the service program of rescue and recovery, thinkvantage on the USB. I know that data that are installed on the USB key is not correct because it is about 500 MB, while I've read online that the complete recovery disk should take about 8.4 GB. I also know that I never created before recovery disks. Y at - it something that I'm missing is not let me create these disks?

    hitokirix wrote:

is there an easier way to do this?

It's been a while since I've done it, but it worked in all situations where I tried: call Lenovo support and declare that you are unable to create recovery discs. There are several legitimate reasons to do this, for example from my experience...

    1. my X61s did not come with a DVD player and I don't have a DVD USB drive connected.

    2. my T60p reported all kinds of program errors when I tried to use the utility provided to create diskettes.

    3. an another ThinkPad (don't remember the model number) had a HD crash under warranty. Lenovo sent me a replacement HD but I had no recovery discs. (I had backups Acronis full score but Lenovo didn't and I didn't volunteer).

    4. one of my friends refused the license agreement for Windows on its ThinkPad. Instead, he decided to try Linux. After a few weeks of frustration with Linux, he decided to return to the Windows fold. Since he had not accepted the license to the first start agreement, it had been unable to create recovery discs.

If your system is under warranty in my experience that Lenovo will send you a set of toll-free recovery disks. You may need to be a little persistent, but as long as you keep it clean, you should get them. Note however the last time I did that was at least 3 years ago so their policy may have changed. Also note that, in any case, my request is legitimate. YMMV.

  • May VMWrkSttn7 on 64 bit-Win7Prof, run vhd on external seagate 500 GB USB drive

Hi I'm new to this vm world... Please bear w / my crawl on all fours

    I have hp dv8t 64 bit Win 7 Professnl of 2 x 500 GB = internal hard drives 1 & 4 GB Ram & i7 720qm processor image

I intend to install vmworkstation 7 on laptop to install the following:

    < 1 > workstation windows - 32-bit win2k3 server on internal hard drives
< 2 > OEL5 workstation - Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit on external seagate 500 GB HDD USB drive

When creating the virtual machine, is it possible for a chosen to create a virtual hard disk (vhd), allocate all the space 500 GB in a *.vhd file save on this external hard drive and then install whatever I want OEL5 (o/s) and other applications on linux?

I use the hp USB wireless mouse & say that I could take in others transcend usb xGB drives in other passers-by while having this key external seagate 500 GB USB connected.

USB drive letters will cause confusion to the VMworkstation whenever I have extra USB drives connected?

I really appreciate your thoughts and especially time.

    Thank you

    Vee

First Workstation uses the vmdk files - vhd is a different format.

If you create your Oracle VM you must create it directly on the USB drive - this means in the vmx-file - a relative path to the vmdk (the VM configuration) can be used.

This means that you can plug this disc to another host and still use it.

    Don't worry driveletters.

Resemble the vmx-line that gives the path to the disk

    scsi0.0.filename = "oracle.vmdk".

Do not fill the USB drive more so let say 90% or you will get poor performance

  • [Satellite Pro A200] - slow when problems of transfer and the warmth of the data.

    Hi people.

I have a 1.5 years old Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 with 200 GB HARD drive standard. For some time, his behavior is just... weird.

Sometimes the system slows down. She behaves just slow, it freezes frequently for a second when simple tasks such as entering the text. It; s busiest during intensive data transfers (e.g. copy files via FTP from my copy of the USB or LAN), but sometimes it happens even when no application other than Firefox does. It is not apparent, so I wonder - service it will take in terms of warranty (which means - is there a probability that you will say that everything is perfect and charge me for it?)
The computer was once on the repair under warranty, they replaced the HARD drive with another. Is it possible that the other has problems as well (check S.M.A.R.T. discovers nothing). Or is it maybe faulty SATA controller?

Another thing is the temperature. During the normal work (Internet, MS Word) two hearts runs at 60 * C. When the set temperature may exceed 90 * C and the computer sometimes shuts down. I guess the problem is dust accumulated inside the laptop but I do not see how can I clean.

Go to the service of this kind of problems?

Virus scanners can slow a system down considerably, what antivirus do you use?

If you have a lot of programs installed, perhaps its time to back up your data and reinstall Windows. I do it myself every year since Windows tends to become bloated and slow after a while.

With respect to the dust, you can Sauté using a can of compressed Air sprayed through the main entrance of air (when the system is off).
Or if dust is really bad, you will need to send it to a Service provider authorized to do so and cleaned disassembled.

HOW CAN I GET A HP LASERJET 4V IN ORDER TO PROPERLY USE THE OPERATING SYSTEM TO XP PRO AND USB USING A PARALLEL CABLE?

The printer works at all with this cable?

The cable has recognized and installed by Windows XP when you logged on to the computer?

If the cable has been recognized, what steps have you taken to install the printer then (be as accurate and complete as possible)?

You get an error message?  If so, please provide, without paraphrasing.

This printer has already been installed on this computer?  If so, with what type of connection?

And especially, what is the brand and model of the USB to parallel cable?  Many of them do not work.  See, for example, the comments here , which suggests that 25% of the units will simply not work.  This seems to be one of these products you should buy at a local store, rather than on the Internet, then you can continue taking it back until you get a working unit.

Convenience store detected USB selective suspension js disabled. My question is would you please show me how to enable it? Thank you in advance.

    Original title: USB

For your system of brand not specified and the model, it would be in your control panel, Power Options:

After that manufacturing and application settings reboot your system and check the settings again to make sure they "stick".

    More information (probably many more):

    https://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/Windows/hardware/ff540144%28V=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

The USB selective suspend feature allows the pilot to hub to suspend an individual port without affecting the operation of the other ports on the hub. Selective suspension of USB devices is particularly useful in portable computers, because it allows to save the batteries. Many devices, such as fingerprint readers and other biometric scanners, requires only power intermittently. Suspension of such devices, when the appliance is not in use, reduced power consumption total. More important, any device that is not suspended in a selective way can prevent the host controller USB for deactivation of his list of transfer, residing in system memory. The DMA transfers by the Scheduler host controller may prevent processors on the system to enter deeper sleep States, such as the C3. Selective windows suspend behavior is different for devices running Windows XP and Windows Vista and later versions of Windows.
