Slow wireless connectivity with WRT54GS

If I connect to the router with a LAN, I get ~ 63Mbps, but whenever I try to go wireless, the speed goes down between 12-15Mbps (at best). There is no update of the firmware for the router, and I am at a loss to the extent where how to get the best speed via a wireless connection. FYI, I have security WPA2 value, but I don't seem to lose a lot of speed (as appropriate) as a result of the security is enabled. I REALLY want to get the best speed via a wireless connection, but I am fairly new to try to figure out what kind of things networking, any help would be appreciated!

The router is capable of speed of wireless connection reaching up to 54 Mbps. With today's ' Smart' technology, it would be a smart move, upgrade to a new router. Get a N router, if this isn't an AC, rather than keep the G one.

  • Problem with wireless connection with HP 3070 B611

I have a router with the IP address 192.168.0.1 and printer HP 3070 B611, whose 192.168.223.1 IP address, so the wireless connection with the printer fails.

How to change IP address of the printer in the 192.168.0.XXX range?

It seems that you are on a network other than your router. Reset your network settings on your DEFAULT PRINTER. Connect the printer to the router again, make sure it is the same network name.

You can also unplug your router for 15 seconds and plug back in and then try to re - connect the printer to the router again.

  • Interruption of the internet connection with WRT54G

Have had the WRT54G Router for a few years now and has worked perfectly with a cable modem. Went on vacation for 2 weeks and off the modem router and cable. When I came back this week and through the back on I can no longer connect to the internet from one of my laptops via a wireless router. Can get local access from the laptop to the router but not to the internet. Can connect OK from the laptop to the internet via a direct cable modem. Have tried many things, including the upgrade of firmware, automatic reset installation etc, but cannot establish why it suddenly stopped working.

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

Do not use the easy set-up.  You need a wired connection between your router and your computer.  Connect to the router using 192.168.1.1 in Internet Explorer.  Leave the username blank and use admin password.  You may need to clone the mac address.

Set up your wireless connection.  Change the name of the Linksys network to something else.  Go to wireless security and configure wpa encryption. Write down the settings.  You must enter these settings in your wireless connection.

  • Very slow wireless connection

    Hello

I am owner of the Dell Studio 1555 and I Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini Card on my Board. There is a problem when I am connected to my router and Internet runs very slowly. The signal strength is excellent, I use WPA2 encryption. There is no problem to connect to the network, I had just to configure the ipv4 as IP, the door parameters and so on because the automatic setting didn't work. So I run my firefox and google charges pretty okey but slow. It is then impossible to surf because the download speed is something like 1 kb/s. When I plug in the ethernet cable so it's all good. I tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing has changed. I use windows vista. I also tried connection in linux ubuntu system, but same problem occurs. My friend uses a wireless connection of the router same and everything is going well for him. How to speed up the connection?

    Best wishes

    Simon

If you connect the laptop to the router (or the modem) with a cable? If it gives a high speed, you may need to change the channel is using your router. It's probably 11. Replace 1 or 5. Can significantly reduce the interference from other wireless devices connect speeds.

  • Slow wireless connection of N on the S10-3 0647

I just bought an S10 3 0647 and while it seems to work fine, I found is very slow N wireless connectivity - it shows the connection speed to be as slow as 19Mbps at times, but more often around 26Mbps. I don't know why when I have other laptops with Wireless N connectivity at up to 144Mbps no matter where I am located in my house from the wireless router (Netgear DGND3700 which has the latest firmware update).

I need to update a driver, or modify any other parameter?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • [X 230] Extremely slow wireless connection

    Hi all

I just received my brand new X 230. The problem is as indicated in the heading "wireless connection is extremely slow.

I got my old SL300 of 4 years at the side of my X 230. When I test the speed to broadband, my SL300 yields 6 MB/sdownload and 1. 6 mb/s upload. However, my new gives a super speed reduced to 0.3 mb/s and 1.1 MB/s. So I think that my problem has nothing to do with my router.

I've already put my setting of the adapter wireless for maximum performance (power options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > wireless adapter settings > power save mode > maximum power output). But it does not solve the problem.

    Here's my X 230 Specifications:

    Intel Core processor i5 - 3210M (3 m Cache, up to 3.10 GHz)

Can someone please help me understand this problem?

I can't really do anything with such a slow speed.

Thank you very much in advance.

I realize that it is not my laptop. It's my router actually.

So if someone uses Cisco E1200, please update your firmware!

(Ask the call center, that the steps are too complicated)

I'm sorry if this thread is a boring.

  • Win 7 slow start - connection with fingerprint reader

    Hello

I have a T400s (2.4 GHz and 4 GB) with an Intel SSD and WIn 7 RTM with the last drivers beta of Lenovo.

I have the fingerprint reader enabled for the connection and my startup time of 35 seconds is now shared almost half in the connection of fingerprints and the other half in the rest of the startup procedure.

Or (the finger) described another way if the machine is turned off and I slide my finger to start the machine, it takes about 17 seconds before the fast logon is indicated.

Then the machine says 'pending' for 15-20 seconds during which my personal connection icon is flashing by until it ends the connection and almost immediately displays the desktop.

I am surprised by the very slow connection with my finger already slipped. It would be much faster to turn off fingerprint reader and connect using a password. Someone had this problem and knows how to fix?

Other problems with the boot, I found (and fixed) is the use of a solid as the Windows background color which, for some reason, costs about 15 seconds at boot time! I also had to reflash the firmware of my SSD to win 10 extra seconds at the beginning of the startup procedure.

    Carpet

    Hello again,

Sometimes I had to wait several seconds after sliding my finger, to the process of connection of kick. I checked the event viewer on my thinkpad T400 and found the security processes that are at work when loggin. I have excluded them from protection against viruses (Microsoft Security Essentials) and restarted the computer. When the logon screen appeared, I spent my finger and boom, the connection process began immediately.

    Excluded processes are:

    C:\Windows\System32\LogonUI.exe

    C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe

    Hello
Three months ago, I bought a Toshiba laptop Satellite U-500 (Windows Vista). I have a problem with the wireless connection - sometimes, it does not work and I have to restart pressing F8 and repair, then the connection is re-established; If I put into hibernation the connection is intact, but after a stop the problem maybe redo surface after the 2nd or 3rd session.

I tried to format it, but it worked only for a while. The 2nd item in network adapters in the device (Realtek RTL8192E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) Manager shows a yellow exclamation point. The message is this:

  • Problems of sudden wireless connectivity with Qosmio G10

I had a Qosmio G10 for almost 3 years now, and at least WRT my wireless connection, everything was fine until a few weeks ago.

Little by little I started to lose the ability to connect to a WLAN after getting out of the mode standby (Win XP MCE): the computer wouldn't connect to my WIFI and would keep erratic jumps among the various wireless networks available in the neighborhood, without connect because they are all fixed.

Initially, the problem could be solved by restarting the computer and the router.

Now even that no longer works. I see either all local wireless networks, including mine, without being able to connect, or I see no WLAN at all.

Windows status bar icons both ConfigFree show the small red cross and the system didn't budge. When I see available wireless networks, I'm trying to connect to my own, but then the computer attempts to connect forever. If I order for Toshiba ConfigFree * _For unchecking the checkbox in the properties window_ wireless * and I'm trying to connect manually my WLAN to the computer by dragging a link the said application to another provider program is in control.

I have tried everything that came to my mind, the repair connection, enable/disable WZC, install new drivers for the Intel 2200BG, install the new version of ConfigFree... There is obviously some kind of conflict, but I do not understand what it can be.

I don't know what else to do before decide to reinstall new Windows (oh dear oh dear). Moreover, my ADSL Modem/Router is always the same. The link has been dealt with by WPA/TKIP. Everything works fine with the other 2 computers and a phone with WiFi.

Said by the way and quite surprisingly, a member of the family in another country began just having exactly the same problem on a Toshiba Satellite A110. In this case, the cause may be associated with the change of a Philips to a Linksys modem/router (either DHCP;) WPA/TKIP unchanged; everything works with another laptop in the same household)

    Can someone please help?

Why use the CnfigFree tool to connect to the WLan?
According to your message, you are using the Intel card.
I would recommend so either use the Intel ProSet WLan client configuration tool or the clean option of Windows!

    > try to manually connect my WLAN to the computer by dragging a link the said application to another provider program is in control
I assume that this error message is displayed because the ConfigFree is always chosen as tool to configure the WiFi network.

However, the new installation of the OS may not be bad idea due to the fact that everything would be set up again.

  • 4500 wireless connects with 2 systems but not a third party.

All of the recommendations noted in all HP sites were conducted.  Gets the path looking for connection test

I have disabled the firewall (firewall even on other systems).   Printer can be seen by web access, and

is configured correctly.  Have it connected to the third system now via USB.   System is running XP sp3 with

the latest from MS and all the updates from HP. (HP system).  Other systems that work are a laptop

with XP and a Vista system.   With the exception of the laptop that is wireless, other systems connect through

time on this printer.  Any ideas?   And please do not repeat the most obvious of which have already been addressed.

(Note I work on computers for more than 40 years and know the networks, etc., etc.)

    Thank you.

Don't know why, but just to the dickens, have you a device add tonight, after a few days with

the PC race, print to the printer via the USB port.   Added the printer wireless, and she said very well...

No changes to the system, etc., etc...

So now have the printer installed twice on this system - USB and wireless.

Would be nice if the installer fails he looks a why...

    Thank you all anyway.
