• Align on? Smart guides? Not sure that it is, but it's boring.

  Just make the leap to the top of CS2-CS5. A lot of changes to be expected but otherwise a smooth transition. Very nice job Adobe.

  A recurring question has me baffled and bored. It seems to be a function of magnetism but I'm unable to locate the place where it can be disabled.

  In my previous version of InDesign, resizing window sizes and forms has been a fluid movement and easy. Now, it is mind boggling and inadequate. The text boxes and picture want to snap on an invisible grid. I understand how this can be a useful feature for certain types of work, but it gets in the way of composing an image.

  Any suggestions on how to disable this?

  Currently, I have two bearings commented on and snap to Document Grid UNCHECKED in the menu display and yet I'm impossible rest smoothly and fluidly size my picture and text boxes.

  There is another new feature, Live Drawing screen, which is enabled by default, but for many users, it causes real be minced to move on the screen. It's at the bottom of the Interface in the preferences section. Try configuring offline. Which will allow you to preview live when you want really clicking, then now a moment before you drag, but moving immediately will give you what you're used to in CS2.

  In fact, I think that the guides are worth using. They save me a TON of time.

• Scaling of object doesn't seem to work properly with objects that contain Bézier curves

  I created a closed object which had a Bezier curve as part of its definition. I wanted to scale of 110% and then to use this second object expanded to create a sort of background under the first object to create a sort of a shadow effect. But rather that the second purpose being uniformly superior to the first intersection with the original object in a way that does not make sense to me.

  Is there a more easy/different way to create an effect like that? I can do but have to manually adjust a large number of points in the new object so that they create a uniformly larger version of the original object, but it's a lot of effort for something that works very well for regular polygons with straight lines (for example, a star with 5 points).

  PS - I've attached a picture of what I get with this technique to create two examples of two objects, one a 110% of the other version. The first star shows the effect I'm trying to get, and the second shows the problem (the red border around not the black object evenly around the perimeter)

• cannot record copy that contains "#" using branching

  Hello everyone - I use APEX 4.1 and have implemented a "Record copy" button that copies the selected fields from the folder to the same page to create a new record. This is done by using branching (had the idea of this forum!) and in defining the elements (for example, P2_NAME, P2_ADDRESS1, P2_ADDRESS2, etc.) with these values (by example, & P2_NAME, & P2_ADDRESS1., & P2_ADDRESS2, etc...)
  
  It has worked perfectly in other APEX applications - up to present. The problem is that the new database contains several fields that contain the character ' # '. When the character ' # ' is detected during the copy process, all data after the # is not copied (but all the data before the # are copied OK).
  
  Is there a way to get around this? Remove the characters ' # ' is not an option, because it is part of many manufacturer part numbers that follow us.

  Hi Gail, so if they are database columns, I think you must have a DML search process in there to fill in as in page 30 you have to edit the line.
  Fix?

  If this is the case, then I think loaded the items in the collection, then your DML process happens and as 'THIS' line does not exist, the page elements get eliminated from the DML extraction.

  Change to the Source used to load items ONLY when NULL would correct that. You can, of course, that the link from Page 30 to 31 to change also clears the cache on page 31.

  So to change it:
  -Link to page 31 of 30 and clear the cache on page 31.
  -Pass the ID of your line on page 30 to P31_ID?
  -the collection does not exist so nothing happens in the header after process
  -the DML process runs and support items because they are null, and row data exist.
  -make changes, the changes apply
  OR use the copy button, that:
  -Submit page
  -Process captures the fields necessary for collection
  -Creates a branch to 31, clear the page cache
  -Runs in Process, research collection, load the page elements.
  -DML process works but does not affect the page elements because the Source is used only when the page element is null
  -Form appear with elements of pages loaded.

  FWIW, assuming that when you check in a copy and the elements of the page is deleted, your key (P31_ID?) column is also set to NULL, you could put a condition on the process DML to run only if the element of the page P31_ID is NOT NULL, which would cause the LMD to be ignored process and elements of the page to keep their value from the loading of the collection.

• I don't see Smart Guides around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in view

  Hello

  First of all, I don't pretend to be some illustrator expert but I have a good understanding of the functions of Adobe Illustrator key.

  However, when I went to design a logo yesterday, I don't see smart guides (blue lines, see below with all selected items) around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in order. I do not expect the controls on each being showing unless they are selected, but I do that I expect to see the blue line itself.

  
  

  
  

  I contacted the Adobe Illustrator Chat but really, they do not seem to have a clue and seemed to be intentionally misunderstanding me despite the fact that I sent this image. They were also quite rude!

  In any case, I'm now desperate so someone here can help me please.

  PS I looked everywhere online for a solution and tried some of those suggested but without success.

  You may not see an unselected object with no line or fill in preview mode (this is why it is called overview).

  You can select it when you don't have fill and stroke in the tools Panel and choose: select > same > background & contour.

• Reflecting the updates to a ListCell that contains a mutable object

  I have seen many variations of this question, but unfortunately have not found the answer, so I thought to ask here. My apologies if it is missing something obvious!

  Objective:
  I start individual tasks in batches. A ListCell reflects each task, from the initial request to the final result. Batches can be submitted even if a set is the treatment. When all any batch process is completed, they disappear finally in ListView.
  Accordingly, I want a ListCell to reflect a task and reflect the transition from the initial design to the final outcome.

  Location:

  Currently, I am trying this with an ObservableList of my own POJO, each reflects by using a custom extension ListCell.

  I got this result, but he was not good. First of all, I read that it is best practice not to change the objects of the ObservableList under his feet. However, I have multiple threads against the same list. With the objects being added, deleted, and updated, it seemed safer to update the object referenced rather than trying to manage the synchronization to avoid problems of simultaneous changes. After all, I'm not really add a new item, I'm wanting to upgrade the representation of an item which is now in a State of finished products.

  Details of the attempt:

  I realized that by building a "observableArrayList" with a reminder Extractor. This callback method offers an Observable range containing an ObjectProperty, the property being a member variable of my POJO used in each ListCell. Each task updates the property of this object with information at the end of his treatment. This I think ensure that change listeners are informed of updates to this POJO, via its ObjectProperty.   The ListCell built with this POJO is tuned for updates, but I think it's really to reflect the additions and deletions on the ObservableList that represents the ListView. However, in the case of updates, the private enforcement of the updateItem ListCell (javafx.scene.control.ListCell #updateItem) method does not call the updateItem overridable method. This is because the object that caused the update is considered to be equal to the object the ListCell currently the wedges (they are the same instance, so it's true). However, if the updateItem overridable method is never called, I can't the ListCell customized to update its representation of the ListCell object has changed since his last performance was made.

  If I do my fake return always custom of POJO in his overloaded is equivalent to the method, the overridable updateItem method is called, and I occasionally detects the change of the object and make a new representation. It works, but it feels wrong and as a hack.

  If changes in the ObservableList must be reflected in the user interface, you must make these changes on the Thread of the JavaFX Application. To ensure that what is happening (if necessary using Platform.runLater (...)) will prevent also any question of simultaneous changes.

  I would approach this by binding the text property or the graphics property (or two) the ListCell customized to suitable to your POJO properties. Here's a simple example where I have a list view of a bunch of "meters" that count in a background thread. The cells display is updated when the status of the task. I introduced a counter property (which is a little redundant; I could have used the property of progress or message) in order to demonstrate the update a property on the thread of the FX Application using Platform.runLater (...).

  Because the ListCells can be reused, you must take into account that (task) is displayed may change during the life of the cell cycle. You can do this by using a listener to the itemProperty (which is what I did), or by substituting the updateItem (...) method.

  Your objects punch must be in a large group; It will cut through all that is below.

  Create the shape you want to cut and set it to black Uni. Select your group and your form and (in the transparency palette), click make mask.

  Uncheck the Clip, and then return to the palette.

  Hello world. I try to use benchmarks commented to help me align a small arc in a corner, so I can merge into a larger shape. Well, I got my bow on one of the anchor points and I drag the path to full fitness, but no hanging, no label 'path' or 'intersection' appears. I have all the options for Smart Guides is checked and I've got Snap to Point activated but still no luck. It's a precise alignment, a guessing game. Any idea? -Mike

  Now, how do I change the the paragraph style to each paragraph that contains only an image? I need to get rid of the numbering.

  If the images are all anchored objects, you can use find/replace to find the anchor point and change the paragraph style only once for all paragraphs.

  I agree that it is a case of lack of guides; If the guides are checked but is not displayed, it may be time to Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup, or , move the folder

  Green guidelines? Unless you customize them, I suppose that you work in layer 3 (or 30, or 57, or).

None of the players AVI or conversion services, I tried (Handbrake, VLC, online - Convert.com) will convert or export the two clips - only clips gets output, in this case in MP4. Any help in getting the two clips on this container gratefully received!

  In java, a BLOB is just the index that gives you access to the content. In your case, you access by selecting a locator BLOB existing and getting his inputstream. This inputstream is what allows you to access the content real blob.

  The Locator is just that; It specifies the LOCATION of the blob content, but NOT the content.
