Smartphone blackBerry 8700 c SIM AddressBook in memory of BB

Hi all

I hope someone can help, I am frustrated no end.  I followed the procedure to move my address book to the SIM card to the address book of BB.  The progress bar appears as if the AddressBook has been transferred.  When I highlight the address book icon and open there's it nothing there.  The only way I can access my address book is read directly from the SIM card.

Anyone know what I can be doing wrong or a possible fix for this problem?

Thank you

Dray

Looks like a filter can be activated. Address book, click the menu button and go to filter. Clear all that is checked. If none of your contacts are associated with a filter, it's probably why you didn't see anything in the address book

What should I do? Do I need a BIS account, provider of services?

Hello and welcome to the community!

To use the exclusive services of BB (including the ability to Push email, BBM, etc), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have a compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), your exclusive services BB will work (for example, you will have a staff/Internet Email added to the email Setup Wizard, your BBM will work, etc.).

With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans it is impossible to say that any plan service could actually expressly provide for. Only carriers can answer this question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you want and then talk to your carrier about obtaining a data plan that allows what you want (to them).

    Good luck!

  • Smartphone BlackBerry 8700 c Device Manager and does not AT ALL

So, I recently got a Blackberry 8700 c and for some reason, the Device Manager does not work. As my computer will make a dadunk noise when I connect my Blackberry via USB cable, but it doesn't register that my blackberry is connected. I can not go on my computer and actually click on my blackberry.

I have windows vista and the software Manager for the device that I use is that I received in the box. 4.1

I'm also using AT & T please help.

All I want to do is to be able to connect to my computer and download themes and all I want the phone. But it does not work

Jsanders thanks for your help, but I managed to understand! I got the Desktop Manager 4.1 version so I downloaded and installed to 4.7. That fixed my connection problem. And while I was home I decided to take the update of the software 4.5 versio and which is installed on the phone right now. I backed up all of my information and everything.

I took risks and went with my instinct. And I fooled with driver vista settings. So far, everything is smooth.

I used to mod motorola phones so I had sort of an idea of what to do initially. But the Blackberry intimidates me so. Haha!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8700 c not get internet

    Hello

I hope someone here can help me.  I have a blackberry 8700 c that I bought at cingular/ATT now, a couple of years and 3 days ago, I lost internet coverage.  I spoke with technicians ATT & finally got referred to as BB technicians & nobody could solve my problem.  I have made at least 10 battery tire & did a hard reset, wiping clean all & starting over.  Nothing has worked.  My phone works, but does not sound & light is sporadic, jump for several hours & then back on.  I have been sent new books/registration to the service several times & ATT even took me off their program & restored me.  All to nothing does not.  Here is the message I get:

    With the ATT Navigator:

Last update: finally got my internet back, but not thanks to support from AT & T.  Apparently, it was the deep, dark secrets while adding a new Tower & once they got that up & go that my internet is back.  Why they just could not have told me the truth & saved me all the stress of thinking my phone crashed is beyond me!

Many thanks to everyone who gave me advice.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry 8700 themes

    What's up family of BB.

Recently bought this baby - BB 8700 in new condition. Wondering too.

Downloaded some themes, tried to send them through the Blackberry Desktop Software - nothing happened. He has not let me do.

    Any help?

Desktop Manager was the original name for the desktop for devices BBOS software, then it became the desktop software. I can't tell you now how it changed from one version to the other.

If the problem is that you need older versions, see http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/253387-archived-rim-desktop-software.html#post1792956 of @JSanders of back in the day. I don't know if this will help or even if the links still work.

  • Smartphone blackBerry 8700 OS 4.5.0 update problems

I have downloaded the last OS file for my 8700, installed on my laptop windows 7 as I can't install it on my mac. You are prompted to restart after the installation. After the reboot, I am discovering I can launch the loader and update my 8700.

My 8700 is currently on the 4.1 OS and when I connect to DM and try to update, it displays "No updates available"

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." (You might have another Vendor.xml file hiding on your computer.) Open Windows Explorer, and in organizing key (on Windows 7, there are similar tools for Vista and XP) click on 'folder and search options. On the display tab, make sure that your computer is configured to display the hidden files and folders. Once you have done this, look for your drive C:\ "Vendor.xml".)
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

    * Starting with later versions of the OS6, there are now three copies of the SELLER. XML
    C:\Program Files\Fichiers Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 32-bit Windows XP/Vista/7)
    ==========OR============
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 64-bit Windows Vista/7)
    C:\Documents and Settings\ * name * \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    C:\Documents and Settings\ * name * \Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
You can also just search of the SELLER. XML. ensure that you choose the ADVANCED SEARCH and include hidden files. It should display the file in three places. Delete all copies that it finds.

Note: Some users may be concerned they will void their warranty of device by loading an OS from another carrier. There is really nothing to fear. Please read more information about it here: http://www.port3101.org/power-users/296-blackberry-os-upgrade-including-betas-myths-dispelled.html

  • Updates to Smartphones blackBerry 8700 4?

    Wow!

First of all thanks to quick help! Secondly, I apologize for being stupid for this! I had an iPhone and got rid of him and now I have an older 8700. A little change! I was wondering if someone could help me determine if the software I currently have is the latest.

For now, I have the Version 4.2.1.96

My phone does very well how it is but I've always loved playing with stuff. I looked for updates and downloads. There's so much!

    Once again, thank you

You don't need Desktop Manager to load the operating system. See the instructions in the link.

You need DM for backup... get version 4.7

  • Smartphone blackBerry 8700 c messing around with SMS is HELP

Hello! I got a used 8700 c so I could test Blackberry before investing in a new.  I use it on AT & T without a data plan because everything I do is txt at the moment. I was well.  Install SMS txting and went along great. I could send and receive sms txts.

Then I tried to find a way to connect to my home wireless internet after reading here that I can do without the signing of a data plan with my carrier.  The 8700 c did not find my wireless device, but I realize, oh, well, not much.  I turned off the wireless on my BB.

But now when I try to text SMS my BB says "Radio is off, message cannot be sent. You only will be able to save the draft. »

What I did wrong?  I'm as much of a beginner you can get, but I look at the manual. I'm lost and worried because my wonderful son pays for the service on this phone and I'm not accidentally accumulate loads what whether light - and I don't even know what it means when he says that radio is off.

    HELP? !!!

"Radio is off" means that the connection from your phone to the network of the company has turned off and nothing can leave your phone or be received by the latter.  Simple as that.

You just go to manage connections on your home screen, turn on the network connection, and you're in business again.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry abroad / several sims

    Hey!

I know virtually nothing about blackberries, so apologies for the questions beginners...

I plan to do a curve (or possibly storm), but here's my problem: I need to be unlocked and sim-free just because I have a good amount of travel and need to change my sim autour cards often enough. I found a few places that I can get an unlocked, but I wonder if I'll actually be able to use wisely with all the features on my different sims. I know that's probably especially dependent on the networks I'm on and if I have contracts, but someone also told me something about BlackBerry sends constantly data which I really don't understand...?

Anyway, if anyone has experience in the use of their blackberries with several sim cards from different countries and can help me, it would be great! I'm not sure whether it is useful to make a.

    caveat applies!

I'll be honest: If you intend to use several SIM cards and want to do something else that a phone/SMS, then don't take a BlackBerry.

If you want to browse the internet, use your device as a modem, do the MMS or receive emails, your BlackBerry will require a SIM card that is connected to a BlackBerry plan. There are a few companies that offer a BlackBerry plan "pay as you go".

With a voice standard + plan data for a little money, you won't be able to just take a SIM card out and expect it to work on your device with the exception of the voice/sms.

  • Directory of transfer of Smartphones blackBerry to the SIM card...?

I got a new Pearl and cannot connect my old only to the model. How can I transfer my phone book to the SIM card?

Open the address book, select a contact, scroll to the number, display the menu and select copy to SIM phone book. Yes its a phone number at a time, but it is the only option to copy the contacts on the SIM card.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8700 / Outlook 2000

I recently downloaded the latest desktop software and Blackberry device (on the site of Tmobile upgrade).  The desktop software version is v4.2.1.107.  The day before, I had problems with Outlook 2000 and had to remove / reinstall the program.  When I tried to sync my office on my device, I received the Intellisync dialog box that says "no applications configured for synchronization.  So, I tried to configure synchronization, when I clicked on setup, the only 2 options are Outlook Express and importing ASCII / and NONE.  I use Outlook, how to activate the device see Outlook or conversely, add it to the list of distraction?

    Thank you

The Office Manager has ceased to be compatible with Outlook 2000 from Desktop Manager 4.3. The last version that supports Outlook 2000 is version 4.2 Service Pack 2. If they have that on the website of tmobile, download them and install that and you'll be fine. If not you can download it here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
