Smartphones 8800 TrackBall blackBerry replacement

Can anyone tell me where I can get a new trackball for my 8800 sick please.

I can follow to the top and side, take the trackball to turn around and the track down and on the other side.

I tried the clean etc, no luck.

I am in the United Kingdom but the web being what it is, well...

Appreciate any advice, thanks.

They are easily purchased from http://horizonwirelessonline.com/cat/ AND the trackball is super easy to replace.

He must put it back. A SLIGHT pressure. Space without the tab must be facing up.

If you can't replace it, or the tabs on the silver ring are broken, if your machine is new, your carrier must replace under warrantly.

If not, look at my signature for the link to the Horizon, they sell them quite expensive.

  • BlackBerry trackball Blackberry Smartphones

Hello. So I had my Blackberry for about 3 months and I was wondering when I should replace or clean the trackball. I thought that I should replace the trackball soon because it seems that it is kind of loose and feels different than where I bought it. I did the search usual online and discovered there are different prices, from $40 to $12. For example, there is the www.bbrepairshop.com/ for $40 at www.blackberrytrackballs.com/ for about $12. Y at - it someone who can recommend a site they used and explain to me what kind of tools I will need to buy to change. Also, is there another type of maintenance that must be given to the Blackberry?

    Thank you

  • Need help from blackBerry Smartphones to transfer Contacts from Blackberry 8800 for Blackberry Storm 9530

I tried to use the Desktop Manager software supplied and had two phones connected via USB to my PC.

I made sure to uncheck the transfer of everything except DATA, which was the only solution. I had no way to go just in a finer selection, like the ability to select only Contacts.

The Desktop Manager has replaced during ALL my DATA on the storm, including the default mail server, etc..

I was still able to make calls, but could not receive email or messages from BB because it crushed everything I had

Can someone direct me as to how to properly use the Desktop Manager so I can just transfer my Contacts.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Did you use the switch device Wizard in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager?

Do... to make a complete backup of the 8800 using Desktop Manager > backup. Make a note of where on your PC that the backup is saved as well as the name.

Now connect the new storm device to the USB port, open Desktop Manager again. Open the backup/restore > advanced.

Find the backup file in the left pane (use file > open if it does not appear immediately). Located in the database of the address book on the left side and click on the right arrow in the middle to move data to the new device. Follow the prompts and complete the process.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 8130 trackball now is the camera.

It started last night. He did not fall or taken on the water damage, he was sitting right next to me, and when I picked up and moved the trackball the camera running and began to take pictures.

To my knowledge on the trackball triggering the camera until a few minutes ago, because I moved the ball control a bit, so the offbeat Pearl and would not stop to take pictures. I tried the hard reset battery several times for periods ranging from 1 to 30 minutes, but nothing helps I couldn't stop. I took it to Virgin and they said since the 1 year warranty expired they couldn't do much for me unless I wanted to pay an arm and a leg to send it far from being fixed, that I don't have (not phones worth).

So I decided to take it upon myself, I disassembled the phone to check the camera button and see if something was stuck and it wasn't, no dirt or grime or anything, I then wiped the phone and reinstalled the OS blackberry and yet, I STILL have the problem. After trying looking for this problem and only find two others with the same problem (which just traded their phones in) I decided as a last effort to post my qualm here and I hope to have the chance to receive help.

    That's my guess.

1 the battery immediately! Do not turn on your BlackBerry device.

    2. allow the device to dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days * (see below)

    3. DO NOT "check it every day" by placing the battery in. Leave what would to dry completely. It takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can damage only (humidity + power = disaster).

    4. If the unit is hot after the drying period, let it cool to room temperature before placing the battery in the.

    * Suggestions on your BlackBerry in a warm dry place (open, with battery):

    • Place the BB in a container of dry uncooked rice, and then you can also place it in one of the locations mentioned below.
    • On top of all heat dry emitting electronic components: TV or CRT, LCD, TV cable box / Satellite or plasma monitor
    • On the dashboard of your car on a day sunny

Just phone activation. Trackball worked at the beginning and not now.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.

See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Good luck!

  • Questions of trackball blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

Please I need help with my trackball. I noticed two weeks ago to be more precise my trackball has become erratic and from now is no longer works. I can't any of my applications outside the messaging app. Is no longer, I can talk to on the phone or access any other content except the messages folder.

My trackball can no longer function at all, and even when it does it only works when you press it hard. Aside from noting to other functions. All other keys works perfectly except the trackball and it is the most important key that I can only have access to all other functions of the phone through it. It works when I press up or down or sideways.

I am really frustrated because this phone gives me my bread and butter!

Can someone help me please on what to do? Thank you.

    You mean trackpad, right?

If you think you're up to it, you could buy a kit and replace the trackpad yourself. There is usually not found DIY videos. Here's one I found on youtube.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=6CuIVBnKWUY

The other alternative is to find a store and get it fixed.

But if the unit is under warranty or covered, to talk to the seller or to the insurance company.

    Hello!

Your problem seems to be more a problem of material rather than a software problem.

So would ask to visit your neares, Center of BlackBerry services licensed for the treatment of the issue.

I hope that solves your problem!

If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a solution so that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can my blackberry 8800 with OS4.2 supported more than a calendar?

I'm looking for a solution to be able to check my google calendar since the blackberry without intefrering with institutional calendar.

My blackberry calendar syncs with my calendar on my desktop PC, which in turn syncs up with a group calendar - across the Department. This synchronization works automatically and is not under my control.

I also have an account of personal google calendar that I want to be able to access from my blackberry. I've installed sync google calendar for blackberry, which didn't work the way I want to. In fact, it worked, but my google (such as lists of races, personal appointments) calendar entries were copied to my blackberry calendar, then as a result of my PC calendar, then as a result of the timing of the Department so I had to turn it off.

Some people on this forum wrote to have more than one calendar on their blackberry but I don't see this option on mine. Help upgrade the OS? Blackberry model is 8800 with OS 4.2.

Ideially I want to find an app for blackberry, separate calendar of the standard blackberry calendar application. Something like the gmail client: it works separately from my box of blackberry and my mail to individuals and companies are well separated. Is there a client of google for blackberry calendar application?

Two calendars on blackberry would be an excellent solution. Another approach wouid be to enable calendar synchronization one-way only (only for the blackberry only, but not to him). Entered the calendar in this way would mix in the calendar of a blackberry. As long as this mixture does not spread the deparement calendar, which will also.

You'll appreciate you help and suggestions.

I solved it. Any application must be installed on the blackberry to access google calendar. It is available through the standard blackberry browser. All I had to do was to add a bookmark for this address:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry replacement

    Hi guys,.

I recently lost my Blackberry Bold 9700 and received my replacement today. There are a few things that I can't make it work on my Blackberry and I was wondering if you smart people might me humor and explain how to get to their work.

    (1) when I press the green phone button at the top, it says "my number: unknown number", whereas he used to work normally and show my number.

    (2) it won't let me add my personal gmail account to the device. I've certainly had that before, but it wont let me no more.

    (3) when I tried to check my response he asked me to add the number I wanted to pass messages but it doesn't seem to work and it won't let me check what number I entered.

    (4) setting up my home screen. I certainly used to have a lot more icons to add to my home screen, the top line. I used to have Internet, SMS, BBM, Email, Facebook and music icons, but I can't seem to find the 3 of the latter.

Can someone help me? I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm on Orange and the United Kingdom.

    Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

First things first... talk to Orange. They need to transfer your accounts to the old BB to this new. Until they do, there is not much you can do independently. So I suggest that you talk to them is making first.

Then you have a new BB... fresh out of the box. Any customization you, you will have to redo. If you have a recent backup of your old BB, you could restore that to recover SOME of your articles.

But which include 3rd party applications - you must return to the source apps and re-doing the acquisition. I hope you kept copies of all necessary activation keys.

But, anyway... Start by Orange... maybe they can get you through this transition.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 8800 da BES Migration

I was initially using BB via BES.  I left my employer and responsible for Desktop Manager on my PC at home.  I set up POP3 accounts and received by email on my BB, but I was not able to sync my calendar, contacts and other details between my office (by MS Outlook) and my BB.  When I try to do, I get a message that says that such things wireless.  If I try to change the settings via configuration, changes to message, that only the calendar is made this way, but my address book / contacts are not updated or the other.  Do I need to register to BIS to take advantage of these features?  Is there another way to handle this problem?  Is there present problems if I have more than one folder in my contacts in MS Outlook?  Any help is much appreciated, as I get nowhere to seek help of my mobile service provider or BB directly.

Right.  Have on hand the new 8800.  Have you checked the software - v... 2.1.101 (Platform 2.3.0.80).

Under options, I don't see an entry for the synchronization.  By hitting the menu button once from the main screen, I can see e-mail, contacts, calendar, etc  However, no reference to tasks and Notepad and address book are under tools and accessories on the main menu screen.  In any case, I don't see an obvious way to disable wireless synchronization.

Vodafone tells me there is no way to sync via a connection wireless internet (as opposed to large companies), and Director of the office should be used.  But they were not as useful in advising how to synchronize when wired.

    Any other ideas?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones let Trackball

The trackball on my old curve 2 week seems to get progressively more flexible/sloppier.  Is this normal?  Is it possible to stretch upward?

There are vidoes on youtube on how to disassemble your traclball. Maybe something has come loose. But remember that any changes to your BB is at your own risk and may void your warranty. But how you only had it for two weeks, you may just want to exchange it for a new incase it is more problems with what you don't yet know.
