  I recently picked up a blackberry storm 9530, who has been sitting on the counter for about 5 months and decided that I wanted to use it. I got it all together upward through my carrier (Verizon) and it has been working perfectly for the last 2 weeks. However, today, I tried to update the software version of the device with the Blackberry Desktop Software and something happened. The update process was almost complete and he got in a process that says something like "Reconnecting to JVM" or something like that. Then another window pops up saying them was a mistake with the AppLoader or something and he said to disconnect and reconnect my device and then click Retry. I did about 3 times before I decided that it wasn't going to work and clicked on the Cancel button and abandoned the update. Now my phone won't turn properly. whenever I press the power button all the buttons on the bottom will be light and then the LED on top lights up red for a while, then the light turns off and the keys will blink again, and then the light, ect ect. Sometimes when I press the power button and leave it alone for a bit the flashing stops and the screen will remain black but the little loading symbol, but nothing will happen. At the moment he made the small thing of loading for about 30-40 minutes of solids and nothing happens. I read a few other posts and all the other problems seem to be resolved by the connection to the computer and fixing one way or another using the Blackberry Desktop Software, however when I plug my Berry in my computer it is not yet recognized as a device because it is busy to restart or what he does.   I have a blackberry storm 9530 unlocked Verizon wireless, U.S.. But I use it for Canada with Fido service provider. As everything else works like internet, outgoing calls, messenger, emails, etc., the phone seems unlocked. But I noticed it today that display the call does not work. I checked with my service provider, they said I have call display and it should work, but they didn't know anything about this phone then could not help (as the phone is not the provider). So when someone calls I see unknown call number (no name or number display). I don't know if it's a network problem (which I think this isn't because they say its on and should work) or something to be changed in the handset.   It could be one of the four solutions... Try these:

  1. make sure that you set your own code to the Dialer phone screen > Options > smart dialing.
  Set your country Code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

  2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

  3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
  Look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
  * If you don't see it here, your device operating system handles this differently. Look at the Options > Security > encryption.

  4. go to Options on your device > Security Options > encryption > include contacts the value 'No '.

• Problem on Blackberry storm 9530

  In Blackberry storm 9530 I'm having a problem with the hover or pointer. The application works fine in the old versions, 8800 and 9000 but storm buttons (Tourch screen), scrolling not working properly? When I'm howering buttons it wont light up to let me down? I spent about 2 hours to do just right and he can press the button. Is there another method for touchscreens or? Any suggestion?

  I did not much storm developing applications (only app specifically for the camera), so I'm sure others will be involved better.  But you might find follows her useful.

  You found that the Simulator is not a perfect tool to test touchscreen Storm, the biggest problem for me is the size of a finger.  What is easy to select with a mouse is impossible for large fingers.  For example, you will notice that the menu items and Options screen are actually double spacing.  You must do this to make sure that the fingers can select the line that they want.  You must do the same thing with the buttons to make sure that they can be chosen.

  What I would do is, take a screenshot of your application, reduce it in size to the size of the screen of the Storm (about 2 "* 2 3/4") and try to work with your fingers.  You should also consider the use of the keyboard, in my opinion, it's a pain on the storm, even in landscape format.  And when you use it, you lose half of the screen.

  I also assume that you have compiled the JDE 4.7 so that your application does not run in compatibility mode.

  I have a secondary question in this buttons seem not to be vague about the question to know if they work.  This is me did not cause a problem.  I've always avoided using buttons on the applications, because they offered few features on the use of the menu items for devices not touchscreen, and they reduce the size of the screen.  I'll have to come back for the storm, but in my tests with buttons, I found that to really get a button works, you have to touch it, then press it.  Even in this case, it did not all the time.  I thought it was just me, so had not studied.  If that's what your users see, so they are not alone.

  Finally, a large number of storms at the beginning are delivered with an early OS which in my opinion is not so great.  If you have a pre-release version (expiring in 65), then I think that the General recommendation is to upgrade.

  ethosb is correct, and if you still have problems that maybe it's because you've hidden your main message folder.  In the home screen, press the BB Menu key and select this option to display everything.  You should then be able to find the folder with the message of PIN code for your friend.

  Windows XP Pro SP3 Dell Optiplex and been infected by Trojan in winlogon exe files and Explorer. AVG asked me if I wanted to force deletion and I foolishly agreed. Now, I get the BSOD and the message 'Windows logon done unexpectedly '.   It is a work PC and the CD only we have is the Dell CD to re - install and I know that I need as the first step recovery console. I don't know if the recovery console is on it, and then I need help for the uncomprressed explorer.ex_ and winlogon.ex_ and in their right place.

  I'm not a total newbie, but it's been some time that I used the recovery console.

  Try to be more specific with the error messages you see, so it does not guess or try things.

  Here is an example of a popular error message that sounds like yours (maybe):

  STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}
  The Windows logon process ended unexpectedly with the status of 0xc0000034 (0 x 0000000 0000000 x 0).
  The system has been shut down.

  What exactly tell your message?

  There should be copies of XP system files backup all critical already on your hard drive in the windows\system32\dllcache folder (it is this case), you may not need any expansion.

  It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

  You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

  When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

  Press any key to boot from CD...

  Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

  Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

  Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

  You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

  You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

  C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

  The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

  For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.

  Start by checking the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

  In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

  Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

  Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

  CHKDSK C: /r

  I deleted my maps of BB not knowing it would be the effect on my request of weather bug.  In fact, I like Google maps better but I really like the bug of the weather forecast for the storm.  I tried several times in train to reload this request without success.  I took the battery, etc.

  1. your tech support number is your mobile phone service provider. You need to call, no RIM. You will pay an incident charged for direct support from RIM calling them initially.

  2. you can download the operating system of your device and load it on your PC. Launch Desktop Manager > Oat6 Loader and make sure that BlackBerry Maps is checked. Follow the prompts to install.

  3. on your browser > Options > Identification Identification of the browser, select BlackBerry and try again download of BlackBerry Maps.

  It's just a few months because I bought a second hand BB storm 9530 on Ebay.

  the phone was perfect for 1st 2 months... recently, few days back when I took my phoone out of the Holster, the screen was black but the backlight is turned on... I've done a few handfuls of battery and it seems to be ok,

  then he started to get worse, even after that the battery does no display on the screen, it was the dark night (except for the backlight).

  I started to get desperate, I reinstalled the operating system 5.0.0.32 8, it seemed to be ok for a few minutes, then back to the drawing board. I reinstalled the same version of the OS for a couple of times, but the screen did not show what either. not even the OS loading screen (the first one). I tried downgrading etc... no use...

  the phone shows no signs of improvement.

  Since my phone has not left any warranty, I don't know what to do.

  Please advice me what do.i yet tried loads the operating system using the AppLoader.exe

  I'm out of options.

  all my work related emails are merged with my BB... so, any help would really be appreicated.
