Smartphones blackBerry Media switching cards in 8830

I have an 8830 and put a 1 GB memory card in what I already had.  Now I have almost filled and bought a 4 GB card to replace.  Can I save my media and applications that are on my existing card to reload them on the new card?  Media Manager allow me to do?

Thank you...

Excellent, you can use your 4 GB card!

I do not use Roxio cause there were too many problems with it.

The easiest way is to use the drag - move in windows, your BB will look like a removable drive.

There is no application on the map, they are in the device memory.

I don't know your level of experience, so excuse this if you know, you put in a front memory card?

    Hello

Through the device, not really. Through your computer, absolutely. Your choice is:

    Mass storage mode:

    • KB11879 What is the mass storage mode
    • KB13564 How to enable or disable the mode on the smartphone BlackBerry mass storage.
    • KB29523 How to manually transfer files between a BlackBerry smart phone and a Windows computer
    1. With your 'old' in your BB card, copy everything on your computer
    2. Set up your 'new' card
    3. Format the 'new' card in the BB
    4. Copy the text from the computer to the 'new' card

Use of an adapter of your computer card reader:

    1. Remove your 'old' your BB card
    2. Use the card reader and copy the text from the old card to your computer
    3. Insert the new card into the BB
    4. Format the new card with the BB
    5. Remove the new card of the BB
    6. Use the card reader and copy the text from the computer on the new map
    7. Put the new card in the BB

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry media card not found

I've seen different versions of this question but you have not yet found an answer. I just bought a second hand 8900 to replace my damaged. The problem is that the device doesn't seem to be able to recognize my media card. In the options > memory, he says: 'a card is not currently inserted in the device.

The card works fine in the old device and in a different kind of phone of a friend. Also, their card is not recognized by my device, so I excluded the map as the problem. I tried all the usual bugs - battery pull, software update, etc. but without success. Is this just a defective phone or am I missing something? Help, please!

I tried other media unsuccessfully cards. I returned the unit to the purchase and got another. The problem must have been with the handheld. We can close this thread.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media Sync continues to display 'Please connect a Blackberry smart phone' when the Blackberry Storm is connected to the PC

About a 2 months ago when I would like to connect my (the first storm) blackberry storm to my computer via the USB cable supplied with the phone, I was able to transfer music from my computer (itunes) to the blackberry via Blackberry Media Sync with no problems (open Blackberry Media Sync, connect blackberry to the computer via the USB port and screen Media Sync would change so that I could sync to the blackberry storm music). I didn't even have to install Blackberry Media Sync in December 2009

But now after I connect my Blackberry Storm to my computer, the screen of Blackberry Media Sync does not change and continues to display "please connect a Blackberry smartphone. I tried these tips I found online:

1.) several reboots my computer (windows vista)

2.) update/reinstall Blackberry Media Sync, then by restarting my computer

3.) reconnection from blackberry to the computer, then open Media Sync

4.) Open Media Sync first and then connect the blackberry to the computer.

5.) installation BlackBerry USB and Modem drivers (even if I can't find the USB driver for it under the Universal Serial Bus Controller when I check in the Device Manager when you go to control panel – system and Maintenance – Manager of devices, but I found a v2 COM4 and COM5 RIM virtual serial Port when you select "devices by connection" under display in Device Manager) or are RIM Serial Port virtual v2 COM4 and COM5 drivers I'm looking for?

6.) go to Options (on blackberry) - memory and make sure Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol (MTO) and Mass Storage Mode Support are resolved on 'On', the encryption Mode is set to 'None' and mass storage Mode Auto activate when connected, it the value "Prompt" although I tried to 'Yes' as well. It says I have 785 MB of memory space of the unit out of 879 MB total memory of the device and 7.1 GB of free space on a total of 7.3 GB of Media Card Media Card.

None of the above tips and troubleshooting tips worked. I also checked the Blackberry technical solution center but I've not found anything there that has contributed to the other. I found discussions forums online, including issues of people with 'blackberry media sync cannot connect to the device' pop up, but I have not had this pop-up. The Media Sync screen remains just the same as if I never connected the blackberry storm to my computer in the first place even if my blackberry storm recharges via the computer.

Is there something that I miss or have not yet done? What should I do?

Too bad. I went to a Verizon store and they me remove the battery and turn the blackberry. Worked like a charm and I can now use Media Sync.

Also told me that I need to update the software of the phone blackberry using Blackberry Desktop software (I have version 4 and need to update to 5) and make sure to choose to back up files when you are prompted during the update or you will lose all files, the media and info saved on blackberry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media sync hangs after update in Windows Vista

Hi, I installed Desktop Manager v4.6. in Windows Vista Business edition. When I try to use the Media Manager, he told me that the Blackberry Media Sync is not installed and he asks me if I want to install it. After it downloads and tries to install the synchronization of media, it crashes, it says 'Blackberry Desktop manager has stopped working' and you can only close the program or check online for solutions (which they don't give you any). Any ideas why this happens?

Personally, I don't use the Media Manager. Do not like.

You can enable storage of mass on your Media card and drag and drop files to and from the card support fairly easily.

Unfortunately, RIM has decided to use an Adaptec, Roxio software product. I found Adaptec to Roxio and serious quality problems to be less than stellar. This is supposed to work or as most of the software, the products are we beta testers so developers can find a way to code this without crashing?

It is a separate download from your Desktop Manager.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media Player disappeared

Many people, I looked long and hard for this subject, so if it exists already, please just point me in the right direction. My Blackberry Media Player seems to have disappeared. When I select the media folder, all that appears is videos, photos, ringtones, voice Notes, video camera and records Notes... Miss me most of all what is music?

In order for me to play the music, I have to go through my files and find the songs... I can not play through any player. So I guess I deleted it on the accident. Any idea where I can download this media player?

    Thank you

You can or cannot play a music file when you do the above?

If you can, then you deleted not your music player.

In some versions of the OS, the "music" icon will appear, separate from and not IN the Media Player.

Look around your home screen, Applications folder, etc and see if you find the icon of the music.

  • Smartphones blackBerry media card problems

My wife just got a Blackberry "BOLD".  We have a lot of trouble with it.

I bought a 4GB Kingston memory card and installed.  I'm going to settings-> Options-> memory.  I have the card Support 'On '. Encryption mode 'None. ' Mass storage Mode support "on"; Auto enable mass storage Mode... 'Yes '.  Says device "a card is not currently inserted in the device.  As far as I know, he is.  Tried it out by ensuring that it is the right way (it is), take the battery, reboot etc.

When I insert the card for the first time is any message that is supposed to appear?  Nothing has.

Nothing wrong with the media card - I can insert into my computer and copy files to it.

I find this very frustrating phone.  Part of the problem is we have a mac, but it should not affect the media card.  Because we have a mac, we are unable to download OS updates, right?  So I hope that this will not be part of the solution.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to diagnose the problem or difficulty it would be very appreciated!

    Thank you!

Thanks for the replies.  He did it here.

Unfortunately, the video link for 8830 and curve.  However, I retried card insertion and I figured out that I hadn't pushed it pretty hard.  There to snap in flush before closing the door.  Guess I was unaccustomed to the MicroSD card.  If it is inserted correctly, a message appears confirming that a multimedia card is available.

Then go to settings-> Options-> memory.  Here you can format.  Note There are no parameters-> Options-> Media Card as other BBs.

Once you have done so, you will find the appropriate options appear for example, when you use the camera, you can store the pictures from the camera or media card.

    Thanks again

  • Smartphones blackBerry media card encryption password

Hey I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and it is solved without spending hours on hold for technical support...

So, after making a total deletion, my media card has now been encrypted.

It seems to only affect the music and other media from the storage file, that sort of thing.

so whenever I try to sync no matter what, I can't access it, and I get this message.

"A memory card has been inserted that contains the encrypted files. "Please enter the device password that was used to protect these files:

The problem is; the password that I used before she was destroyed must have been, well, deleted... AAAARRGGG!

So he does not have a password I used previously as valid...

Does anyone know a quick fix for a smartphone of the curve?

    WOOOO_HOOOO!

I found the solution... A little, I feel a bit stupid that it took 11 days to understand this one but when available from the help pages "boards" are so vague, I guess you're delivered to your own...

K so, all you need to do if you find your card encrypted... and you went in options - security options- encryption and clicked disable and it still does not work...

Go to options - security options - Security wipeand you will have three options to wipe - you will be asked. emails and contacts (which is automatically checked, uncheck the BOX IT!) the user installed appsand multimedia card... run the first two are NOT checked and DO check the media card and then click on the delete button.

After that you will need to re - synchronize your blackberry using the desktop software installation program, make sure you open all the options re-sync (calendars, contacts, etc.) and that's all you need to do... music, photos and videos should all be restored!

Oh and btw, just turn on your firewall should generally be sufficient protect your phone against pirate being,... .of you would have to turn it on manually... it seems that most people don't and that's what gets in trouble in the first place... btw this Board is only for series of smartphone curve 8530 as far as I know in all cases... dunno if it will work for other models.

  • Smartphones blackBerry media card is always corrupted after formatting with my Blackberry!

Whenever I insert a new memory in my BlackBerry it says that the card is not formatted. I format the press card and a message appears that the media card inserted contains errors.

I tried everything to fix my problem. Search for and repaired errors on the form of media with my PC. Also on my BlackBerry. Format media on my PC and Blackberry maps. The message keeps popping up. I tried 5 new cards from SanDisk.

I suspect that my BlackBerry is corrupting the memory/media. If so, what can I do about it?

    Information on blackBerry: 7.1 Bundle 1319 (v7.1.0.398, platform 9.49.0.31)

Hello and welcome to the community!

From what you describe, I assume the same problem... However, I also deduce that the problem is hardware (e.g., material of read/write of the physical card on the device) rather than software/OS. Therefore, there are material assessment and repair, which of course cannot be done internet remotely. I recommend you find a store (for you) with a qualified material BB technician and ask them to give you a correct assessment and estimate.

    Good luck!

  • Repair Smartphones blackBerry media card

    Hello

I have a BlackBerry Torch 9800, which I got for Christmas, and it came with a 4GB Micro SD memory card. I've had about 40 videos and 800 photos, as well as 300 songs recorded on this map of media. One day, my phone froze and he then brought a message saying "a card that has been inserted contains errors. You want to repair the media card now? "so I thought that it was simply corrupted and that he would address them, I didn't say it that my files would be deleted. After that, all my files are gone without me wanting to do and I have now no files on my phone either.

In addition, whenever I connect my phone via USB to my computer or to charge my phone with the charger supplied, this message appears once again, even if there are no files stored on the memory card.

I tried to remove the memory card but it still shows the message.

I'm upset that all my files have been lost, does anyone know a way to get back them because they were deleted through no fault of my own

Thank you very much if anyone can help!

REMOVE the card from the device support immediately.

Get a PC > adapter USB to read the card and use the Zero Assumption Recovery software on the card to extract and copy the deleted files. The more you use this map or keep in the BlackBerry, less you all extracted files.

    Good luck.
