  I thing your carrier have not activated BlackBerry data Plan aka BIS on your account. BIS is different from a data plan normal, a normal data plan you will navigate on the internet but will not give access to the BlackBerry application. So I prefer to give you a call to T-Mobile for re - confirm whether or not they had allocated BIS on your account.

  When BlackBerry data plans are enabled on your device, and then click Manage connections > Service status > = BlackBerry Internet Service it will be " Mobile network ".

  Then call T - Mobile and let us know about your updates.

  I have a BB Curve 8520 and dowbkoaded Facebook on it, everything seems to work fine except "Favorite places" whenever I try to use the part of Facebook places the message I get says "Support GPS your device does not support location-based services. To use Facebook places, an integrated location service of wirh device is required. "I have a few friends with the same phone and none of them has this problem.   The Curve 8520 has no GPS capabilities.  When you say that you and your friend have the same phone, which is perhaps not entirely accurate; the curve is available in different levels: 8520, 8530, 3G and there may be others I'm missing.

  It's like another month now when the new OS 7 phones are released, if someone were to say, "I have a BlackBerry Torch", you could answer with, ' which one of the four torches do you own?

  The symptoms you gave the type to indicate a hardware problem, I fear. The SOS thing happened sometimes back, but it turns out I just needed my SIM replaced by my carrier because he was too old and the metal contacts were worn out or something.

  Hmmmm... OK, I did dig a little deeper for you... first... maybe you just move or hide the icon? From the home screen (with the complete list of the display icons), click on the BB (the button to the right of the green phone button) and select "Show all" in this menu..., if the icon was hidden, it will be displayed (and you can view it). Also dig into all subfolders (e.g., applications, downloads, etc.) to make sure that you haven't accidentally move elsewhere (or hide it in a subfolder).

  If that does not, then try this... from the home screen, click the Options icon, and then select Advanced Options, then Applications. A list of applications will build a moment. BlackBerry Maps is listed?

  If so, then next out of this list of the application and go to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table. Then click on the BB (the button to the right of the green phone button) button.   The first thing to do is call your operator, SFR, and have cancel them your SIM card. In this way, no one else can rack up charges on your account. Also ask them if they will blacklist the IMEI number. This will make the phone unusable to anyone else on any network worldwide. If you have a backup made with BlackBerry Desktop Software you can restore it to another BlackBerry phone. What a pity you didn't BlackBerry Protect installed on your phone, because you could have done the phone useless to someone else on your own by wiping all data from it and lock it with a password so that no one else can access it.

  My other BB takes forver at startup. So I tried to reload the operating system.

  I installed the 7.1 desktop software and OS of the phone. When I try to reload the OS, I followed all the instructions until the process stretches where I select the system software and applications to install. Then "load the JVM software szstem" full and waiting for the device to initialize (reconnecting to JVM fails. This is done without battery.
  When I try it with a battery, the device is not detected by the PC.
