Smartphones blackBerry software/hardware

Hello

I have a 24 month warranty on my phone and it was sent to be repaired a month ago. My phone has software errors, it is slow and cut at least once a day. However, the button "mute" of the top fell as my phone (it wasn't the issue - I managed to tape which turn back on and it works fine).

The phone is repaired back (software errors which are covered by the guarantee) - told me that the blackberry engineer said that button had been kidnapped with malice on the phone and so they did not fix it.

I am annoyed because I didn't want the button to be repaired, I am well aware that it is not covered. Was what I wanted to fix software defects: it would seem that they will not watch on the phone because the button is missing. What's the point to have the warranty, if it's useless?

What can I do to convince the Blackberry to fix my phone before my warranty runs out?

Ok.

First, do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

Do a full to the top of your BlackBerry, connected to your PC > run the BlackBerry Desktop Software

Login and see the PIN device in the desktop software.

Click on backup and follow the prompts to finish that.

After that it's over, you will wipe your device with BBSAK.

Download BBSAK here.  http://BBSAK.org/download.php

After deletion of the operating system, you should see a '507 error' on the device.

Then, you follow the instructions on this link to reload the operating system of the device.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I would infer that something was not quite right in the software update, you did, and so a refill of the BONE is in order.

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for many models. If they understand your model, please use those as a reference as you go along. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the download portal official for packages of OS for your model:

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • Software for Smartphones blackBerry or hardware failure?

I have a Blackberry Storm 9500 It was originally a Vodaphone BB, but I had unlocked it so I can use it with my o2 account.  It worked fine for about 18 months.  Then one day I used the calculator and despite assuring the app was closed the phone developed a problem when I try to use still images or a camcorder. If I select the camera app, the screen remains blank and I get an alert telling me I should Close other applications and try opening the camera again. It not is not of all the other apps open and despite reformatting and reinstalling the software, the problem remains. The shop did install what I suspect, it was an older version of the software and the camera has functioned well.  However, the software was very dated and instead of the screen upward smoothly leafing contacts or messages, it would stick.  Once the original software has been reinstalled this problem has been resolved, but I returned to have no camera or camera video apps working. Maybe I should think about an upgrade, but to be honest, I am very attached to my Storm and I don't know if they still do a BB with a touchscreen.

    Your advice would be welcome.

Thanks a lot for your answer.  I'll pass the notice to a friend who has now the BB Phone.  I took the bull by the horns and upgraded to 5860 torch and I am very happy with it.  It's great.

  • Smartphones blackBerry software update

I have a blackberry 8310 and I want to update the 4.5.0.81 software so that I can use a 16 GB micro SD card, but whenever I try to update the software, it won't let me upgrade to version 4.5.0.11. Any ideas?

    -Neil

neilschmeil, you're still reading what we write here.

There is no 5.4.0.110 or 5.4.0.68. There is NO such thing.

It IS 4.5.0.110 and this is the latest version available. The 4.5.0.68 version is older and quite honestly I don't remember even the release. I would not recommend chargement.68

Oh, 110 is higher than 68. You look like "one hundred and ten" is more recent than "sixty eight".

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC.

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

This bit is quite unusual... done correctly, you can force any OS on your BB package as long as it's your exact model number. So I'm not sure if you're really using all the good stuff... so, even if a lot of this will be redundant, please examine carefully for subtle tricks do you need to... done correctly, this can heal the situation. But any errors on the way (not ignored, stage not completed correctly, etc.) invalidates the whole process and translates the automatic process of support and limited to only the OS packages currently supported by your specific carrier.

If your intention is that, upon restart, the splash screen change to another carrier, that will never change. This start screen is deeper in the device is the OS, so it will never change.

In addition, you should read this:

    • KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

And the steps of 'seller' completely

Finally, by getting a BB to operate on a network where the carrier does not directly support this model exact can be quite difficult, indeed. I don't know if this applies in your case, but just be ready to meet the challenges should it not work as desired for the reception.

    Good luck!
