Smartphones blackBerry unknow icon never seen + cannot remove

Hi I have a bold 9780 with a notification of a closed envelope with a bb white sign in the middle and a 1 in red, anyone know what it is and how to remove it? Thank you

It sounds like an update of the application noticed in AppWorld. The message must be in your Messages folder, on the keyboard, the U key and you should be for the last message unread in the list.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Messenger icon disappeared

Initially, I had problems with the Messenger - when receiving or sending messages, the phone would freeze completely for awhile before I could see the message. I tried to upgrade the Messenger himself, but the download failed.

I have connected to the Desktop Manager and tried to update the software to the place where http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/devices. But after restarting the computer and the phone, the Desktop Manager has reported there is no software update. When I did a reboot with the phone, the messenger icon has disappeared, replaced by a "Blackberry Messenger Update" which ended only with the failure of a transfer, but a page still appeared saying "Download Complete."

The Messenger does not appear in a folder is not hidden and does not appear by pressing and holding the menu button. It is still listed under Options > Applications > Core like Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0 but with a calendar instead of the BBM icon icon. It cannot be deleted or moved away.

When it is connected to the Desktop Manager again and under the Application Loader, the Messenger is not at all.

Is it possible to reinstall Blackberry Messenger, preferably with the PC?

    Use a Bold 9700, btw.

If it is listed in the applications list go ahead and delete it.  Then remove the battery to reboot the device.  Then use your browser of the device, go to www.blackberry.com/messenger and download the application again.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 os6 - how to remove the status bar (3g, indicator of service) at the top?

I love the new OS6 and MEDIA SYNC is great.  Finally my itunes music is available on my blackberry!

You can "get rid of it.
The only change you can make is the 5 bars can be changed by the numbers by pressing ALT + NMLL (instead of the signal bars, you see the actual level in dBm)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Protect notification - seemingly impossible to remove icon

BlackBerry Protect appeared on my homescreen today, so I tried to install. The installation went smoothly, but when Protect attempted to run, he failed because the BB is on a BES. Fair enough. However, the notification Protect icon is still present. I deleted the protection message in the message list. I deleted the application Protect. I even tried to reinstall and withdrawal. The problem seems to be that I can't get the first screen of the application of the protection due to the problem of BES. Because I can't get to the first screen, I can't delete the icon. Any ideas?

OK - never mind. Withdrawal of the app and the soft start then seems to have solved the problem.

  • Smartphones blackBerry BBM icon gone?

The BBM icon has disappeared from the face of the EART on my torch 9800.  search for it and nothing, so it redownloaded from the Web site as has been suggested, and he said he would replace the other version. fine? but where devil is this? a battery in and out sereval times. don't know what to do? plaeseeeeeee help

My solutions could be similar to others but please try anyway.

Go to your Applications list (Options > device > managing your home screen applications) and locate the BBM.  Highlight it with your mouse, press the menu key and select Remove.  Then, from the browser on your phone and type www.blackberry.com/messenger and choose "send link to your Smartphone.  Download once, wait so he could install and if your phone restarts, remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.

If this method does not work as it should, delete BBM using the method I mentioned above, then connect your phone to your PC via USB and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has been recognized, click Applications in the left column and make sure you select the check box next to BlackBerry Messenger.  Click on apply down the software to reload the BBM.

Let us know if any of these methods is for you.

I've updated v6.2.0.44 and I can't see the icon.  The app is installed but the icon.  Even if I show all the folders, I'm still not.  BBM do not have institutions.

    Help, please!

    Hi natg,.

    Welcome to the BB community...

That I can see, I can find only one option for your solution... but b4 that, try a battery pull reboot (pull your battery when your BB to IT)... This continues for n 5 minutes then reinsert the battery and leave your BB start... now, see if you can see the BBM icon or not...

If the anterior approach is not helping, then go on BB App world and to remove the BBM and then reboot your BB... now, after restart the BB, go to BB App world and seek a BBM or else you can go online ( http://appworld.blackberry.com/ ) adapted to the BONE using your n install it...

  • Log of calls to Smartphones blackBerry email inbox? How to remove?

    HI - need help!

In my blackberry email inbox, my call log also shows. This is annoying - how remove?

    Thank you

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

You can resolve this problem by following the steps (I did the same thing on my Storm for the same reason you):

    • Open the phone application, then press the BB Menu key and select Options
    • Select Call Logging and then change the calls to zero logging options.

This will still show an icon for missed calls, but it will remove the calls to your main message folder.

    I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry world icon not visible

Been through many forums, tried allsorts of solutions that have been posted, but I still nothing on my blackberry phone! Help, please. I have ablackberry bold 9780 on OS 6.0

    Hi loratta2702

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Sory to see but if you are looking for in the forums it perhaps tons of posts related to the issue you are experiencing.

In what concerns your problem with BlackBerry World, if your device OS is earlier than 6.0.0.706, then try to update your software to device or download BlackBerry World version 4.0.0.55 which is the best solution now available for BlackBerry World, first uninstall any existing version of the BlackBerry World from your device, options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry World and then do a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered...

After restarting the device from your BlackBerry browser search or click here http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=appworld3 to download the 4.0.0.55 version. Also check out this Knowledge Base for assistance:

  • Smartphones blackBerry Messenger icon went...

I can't find my BB messenger icon more.  It is not in the folder IM or my home screen, and I have not all the icons that are 'hidden '.  It is downloaded.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Lori

    Do you have previously? Where?

I would say this: go into Options > advanced > Applications and scroll the Messenger app and do not click it, just highlight it. Click Menu > delete and remove the application.

Now, do a restart: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install again the Messenger application.

After installation and reboot if necessary, check your instant messaging, or downloads of the application folder.

  • Message for the new Smartphones blackBerry Email icon shows without a new e-mail

I tried all the steps listed in this thread http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Curve-BlackBerry-8300/ghost-icon/td-p/405049

Given that the OP has solved its problem, I thought that I needed to start my own thread.

I have a new E-mail notification icon on my home screen that says I have 1 new e-mail.  I followed all the tips listed in the thread above with no success.  This happened last week just after the blackberry network problem. Ironically when she appeared, I didn't have a new email.  I took the battery out and restarted several times, no luck.  Did the search of unopened emails and not luck.

Any ideas?  I know that it is an icon of e-mail as the number grows when in fact I get a new email.  After reading all the emails the icon always shows 1.

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order. (I know will say you that you have done all this... but).

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Clean and reload your OS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry protect work if SIM is removed?

I have lost my phone, unfortunately it was lost in an area that aren't always cellular services (basement).

    that complicates things.

My question is.  If I buy a new SIM card to my old blackberry and switch my service to the SIM card, BB Protect will always be able to locate my phone.  I guess since the service is moved to a different device, the answer is no. also if someone removes the card SIM BB Protect will be able to locate the device?  Yet once, I guess NOT

    Thank you

    Your assumptions are correct.

No power supply (battery dead or out), protect itself does not work.

SIM removed, protect the will does not work.

SIM off, protect the will does not work.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Desktop icon

    Background

I use a hosted exchange provider which I think use BES 4.1.6

Previously on my work BES that I manage when you enable a user all their messages are delivered to the integrated mailbox.

    Question

Why since I activated my BlackBerry on the new hosted service has an additional icon appeared on my "BOLD" called Desktop.  It looks like an icon of BIS, but because I'm not using BIS I am confused as to why it occurred.  My messages seem to be delivered at the same time

    Thank you

    James

    Hello thefifthrace,

It's actually something can people actually ask on the forums. It simply means that the BES admin has separated your work email for personal emails you have Setup on your device. (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15003)

By default, everything happens in the Messages icon. If the desktop icon is just for your work emails and personal e-mail accounts will have their own icon. If you look rather just your Messages icon, you can simply hide the Destkop icon

  • New smartphone BlackBerry Desktop Manager allow me to remove photos from the device

    Hey there,

I use the 6.0.0.40 new office and I'm SO frustrated with it. In the old version, I could remove photos from my camera using Roxio. In the new office, I can't figure out how to remove photos from my 8330. If I click on a photo, I can't delete it individually, and I certainly can't select all, which means that I can't remove all non more.

Can I delete a photo using my BB, but I would prefer not to manage my BB shutterbug photo usually both.

Help! How to remove photos now?

    Char

    Hey Cmillington,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

In BlackBerry Desktop Software, connect the BlackBerry to your computer and turn on mass storage mode.

Click on the pictures on the left side and then right-click on an image and select Show in Explorer.  By doing this, you can select several images and remove several institutions.

    Hope this information helps.
