BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Desktop icon

Background

I use a hosted exchange provider which I think use BES 4.1.6

Previously on my work BES that I manage when you enable a user all their messages are delivered to the integrated mailbox.

Question

Why since I activated my BlackBerry on the new hosted service has an additional icon appeared on my "BOLD" called Desktop.  It looks like an icon of BIS, but because I'm not using BIS I am confused as to why it occurred.  My messages seem to be delivered at the same time

Thank you

James

Hello thefifthrace,

It's actually something can people actually ask on the forums. It simply means that the BES admin has separated your work email for personal emails you have Setup on your device. (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15003)

By default, everything happens in the Messages icon. If the desktop icon is just for your work emails and personal e-mail accounts will have their own icon. If you look rather just your Messages icon, you can simply hide the Destkop icon

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can't find BES email desktop icon

    Hi all

I have set up five accounts on my first BB I bought a few weeks ago. I have icons for all BIS email accounts on my desktop, but I can't find an icon for my BES (by Rackspace) e-mail account. I think that this icon, if it is there, is called "Desktop". Initially, I realize that my work email did not have its own icon and e-mails to this show account only the "Messages" icon with all the other emails, sms, etc..

Then, yesterday, I was downloading of applications and reboot my BB and an icon for my BES email showed (has baptized "Desktop"). But he agains disappeared when I downloaded several apps and rebooted the phone. Now, I can not bring back the icon of the BES Office.

I tried to send service directories, but it didn't bring back the "Desktop" icon I browsed and clicked on virtually all things clickable on my BB, but couldn't find anything that would create this "Desktop" icon

Creates the BES email on the desktop icon that needs to be done when the account is set up, which was done between my computer and someone to Rackspace in my case? Or, is it possible for me now to create this icon?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

It is indeed there... the application Empower BES Inbox. This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server level and affects only a single user.

I tried the free trial version, and it has worked great for me. But, before I had to pay, I convinced our BES admins to get the server solution as it comes free of charge, if it affects all users on this Server BES.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry BBM icon gone?

The BBM icon has disappeared from the face of the EART on my torch 9800.  search for it and nothing, so it redownloaded from the Web site as has been suggested, and he said he would replace the other version. fine? but where devil is this? a battery in and out sereval times. don't know what to do? plaeseeeeeee help

My solutions could be similar to others but please try anyway.

Go to your Applications list (Options > device > managing your home screen applications) and locate the BBM.  Highlight it with your mouse, press the menu key and select Remove.  Then, from the browser on your phone and type www.blackberry.com/messenger and choose "send link to your Smartphone.  Download once, wait so he could install and if your phone restarts, remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.

If this method does not work as it should, delete BBM using the method I mentioned above, then connect your phone to your PC via USB and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has been recognized, click Applications in the left column and make sure you select the check box next to BlackBerry Messenger.  Click on apply down the software to reload the BBM.

Let us know if any of these methods is for you.

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Smartphones No browser icon

Hiya... I'm in a world of pain...

Sorry - a little background on this...

In 2009 my husband bought me a new Blackberry Pearl 8100 on the internet (he doesn't remember exactly where). I put my sim O2 existing in this document, expecting to be able to access the internet/email, but none were available to me. A simple call to O2 clarified was that one - my sim card Pay & Go and at that time, O2 did not Blackberry web & email on Pay & Go. I use it as a phone for a bit, got irritated (searched internet and emails!) and bought a Samsung Tocco lite which I was using until last week when I discovered that, since last July, O2 were now internet Blackberry on Pay & Go.

So, I'm quite excited about buy a bolt on O2, push my sim in my beautiful Blackberry Pearl, get excited when I see the new icons for Facebook and Google, etc... and then I realize that there is no browser option. No globe icon, nothing. The only way I can see a browser icon if I have the menu button and select "Switch Application". The "phone says 'request', then gives me an option to sign up for Yahoo Messenger. If I hit the 'back' button, the screen is empty. If I accept 'Download', I get: "sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Yahoo."

I have set up my email and they work fine. If I click on the links in the emails, I just get a white screen.

I spoke to O2 who said that "all's fine their end" and there is no reason why I can't find a browser icon. They told me to check the latest Blackberry download so my "phone is updated. So, I installed what I believe to be the latest version, but that had no effect.

A battery pull (Finally, a hundred of them in fact...) has also no effect).

I'm close to launch the thing caught fire in the wall. Please help me save my beautiful little ' call from such a cruel fate... of ideas?

    (OS release: v4.2.193)

    Hello!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you could investigate new update of your BB OS... Here's a process for it:

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Good luck and let us know!

  • For the blackBerry Smartphones email folder icon has disappeared!

    9650 w/bundle 6.0

My email icon disappeared from my screen.  My verizon email account is listed in the "setup."  I tried turning the power on/off the phone; no change.  I have remove the e-mail account setup and then entered it again and still no luck.  How can I get the email icon to reappear on my phone?  Help!

The first thing to do is to press your menu button and select Show all or show that one is available. If who does not show your icon, you will need to reload your OS. Not to worry, it's really easy to do. Plug your phone into BlackBerry Desktop Software, click Device > backup and make a backup of your data. Once this is done, click again on the device, and then click on restore. Find the backup file that you just created and load it onto your phone. This will restore your email to your home screen icon. It's a good idea to do regular backups so make a habit to backup your phone at least once a month.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Desktop software will see Torch 9800

I installed BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 (twice from different sources) on my Windows 10 PC.

    1. after starting, I always get the request to connect the BlackBerry smartphone. I did with a USB cable, the application does not disappear.

The Blackberry is recognized, Windows Explorer opens and displays the files on drive F:\

2 blackBerry Desktop Software is worrisome to running applications. 2013 Outlook gets an error after certain actions (I close it), same Excel application is destroyed.

    3. I use the Windows Firewall and Avast Antivir. If I turn it off, there is no difference.

    4. There are the 'BlackBerry Device Manager' three times running background processes.

Are the only things I want to do: get my list of Outlook contacts, possibly calendar or software updates.

Y at - it an alternate option to load the list of contacts to my BlackBerry Torch?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones XP Pro on computer will not open Blackberry Desktop software

I was unable to sync my BlackberryTour with Outlook 2010. We run XP Pro as operating system on the computer in question. Different versions of Blackberry Desktop software did not help. They will open the BB Desktop Software (Version 5.0) but will not sync to Outlook 2010 or the BB software charge apparently successfully, but does not open on the computer (Version 7.1). My husband says that he tried in vain all BB Office between the two versions. Any ideas of what to try?

Well, my problem is solved, thanks to the Blackberry phone support Saturday night. I finally gave up my own and Verizon called and they hooked me up with the support of Blackberry, and the wonderful technician found my problem.

While they inspected the specification more carefully, I had already realized that although the original desktop provided with my tour software open on my desk, it is not compatible with Outlook 2010. So, who was never going to work for synchronization. Therefore, I uninstalled and deleted this software version (5.0, I think?) of my computer.

Yet once I downloaded Blackberry Desktop 7.1 software, and even once, it simply does not open on my desk. (I went through the download process, installation, uninstallation and removal and resettlement at least three times). He would always give me a message "installed successfully". But when I clicked on the icon on the desktop, it would show the small icon of hourglass for a fraction of a second, and then, nothing is more product.

When I'm on the phone with Blackberry tech representative, she was beautiful. We have implemented a 'meeting' so that she could see my computer screen with me. She had me uninstall version 7.1 again, and re-upload it and re - install it while she could be sure it was done correctly, but of course we got the same result I had been do - it would not start.

We looked around a few things, and then she had me click 'Properties' of the Blackberry Desktop 7.1 software (I think that it's where we were) and don't you know, somehow or another a checkbox was marked for the software running in a 'Windows 95 compatibility mode. Of course that WE have checked this box, we just re downloaded and installed the software.  So we unchecked the box, then the desktop software open immediately and perfectly and I was able to sync with Outlook 2010. How strange is that?

I had decided that the problem SHOULD be something like a framework, because I did everything properly to download and install the software, and Blackberry says that it is compatible with Outlook 2010 and XP Pro, so it MUST have worked. But I didn't know where to look for incorrect setting and do not think I know if I saw him, necessarily.

So Bravo for the technician to support for Blackberry phones and thank you, too, for your response.

  • Smartphones for 7280 blackBerry desktop software

I just bought this device. I want to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook for calendar and contacts. It doesn't have right now a sim card.

So I downloaded the software from the site and it seems to install OK. But I can't find anywhere on my computer. (Running the dreaded Vista).

In the uninstall programs, I can see it, but can not locate an icon or a program to run to the top.

    Need a sim card?

What version of the software do I need?

It is even possible to synchronize it with OUtlook?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Best regards

    1. in Vista, if you use just the search box, search for "BlackBerry Desktop Manager". will take you to it
but under the list of programs, he would be under BlackBerry | Director of office
    2. What carrier do you have? Some carriers require (AT & T, Tmobile) sim cards, while others do not (Verizon)
    3. I recommend the latest version 4.6 without Media Manager.
    4. Yes
  • BlackBerry smartphone WIFI hotspot icon

My icon of wifi dissappeared from my menu of networks and connections. Does anyone know how to get it back?

It's a basic application, you will need to reload your OS.

Plug your BlackBerry Desktop Software phone and wait for your phone to be recognized.  Once this is the case, click device at the top of the software and then restore.  Choose the most recent restore point and the load.  Who should restore the Wi - Fi icon on your screen for connection management.

    I hope that helps you.

In addition, make sure you use only the root USB ports... without hubs (sometimes the front-end ports are hubs... use a rear USB port). And don't forget to try to disable the USB power management in the configuration of your system (Device Manager).

  • Email for blackBerry Smartphones application is greyed out on BlackBerry desktop software.

I have the Blackberry desktop software version 4.5 installed on my computer. I can't access the E-mail application because it is grayed out. When I try to access it I get an error message "this computer does not have his account address message. The messaging system is not configured properly or this e-mail system is not supported. "I use outlook for my email. I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330. It is updated with version 4.5. The software recognizes the phone. All other programs are available.

It's on a computer at home?  It seems that you have installed the desktop using the BES software / redirector option.  Redirector is designed to work with a server exchange; If you are using your home PC with a POP/IMAP e-mail address, the best solution would be to reinstall the Desktop Manager using BIS (located in the Setup Wizard), and then use the Blackberry Internet Service to configure your POP/IMAP e-mail.  With this configuration, you will over see the e-mail settings icon because it will no longer apply.  When you use the redirector on a computer that is not on an exchange server, you can receive messages on your device that say "this message is used to carry data between the blackberry and the server... ", which can be quite annoying.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop 7 does not

I like many others downloaded the update for DM7 last night to find that it won't synchronize with any data Outlook or Windows 7.

If you rightclik on the desktop icon and the compatibility settings check that the only listed program is Windows XP [SP2].  This might be the reason main why many of us have problems!  Given that as a small business user, I need to be able to synchronize my Blackberry with my PC could RIM not put a DM6.1 temporary download link [which is compatible Windows 7] on the site Web of Blackberry until what they have addressed the issue with DM7.

I'm about to renew my mobile contract and the I am looking seriously away BlackBerrys, if they do.

Desktop Manager VERSION 7 does not at all.  Back to the General Support Forum page and look at the second option Recenly solved on the right side.  Basically, rou do a clean uninstall of version 7 and reinstall 6.1.
