  Go to your Applications list (Options > device > managing your home screen applications) and locate the BBM.  Highlight it with your mouse, press the menu key and select Remove.  Then, from the browser on your phone and type www.blackberry.com/messenger and choose "send link to your Smartphone.  Download once, wait so he could install and if your phone restarts, remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.

  OK, let's do this FIRST, before you wipe and reload the operating system.

  1. ON your BlackBerry, open BlackBerry Messenger
  2. Press the Menu key > Options > Backup.
  3. Make a backup of your BlackBerry contacts to your 'local' card
  4. Once that is done, go below.
  1. Go to your main device Options icon > advanced > Applications.
  2. Access BlackBerry Messenger on the list and do not click it, just highlight it.
  3. Press Menu > DELETE. Allow BBM to remove.
  4. Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
  5. Now, using the BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download.reinstall BBMessenger.

Sometimes it will not even make a sound alert, change the LED color or allow me to see the new message received unless I can get a glimpse into all my messages (e-mail, text SMS, MMS messages, etc.). Here is an example. I receive an alert by a BBM contact. I can see or see what they typed to me in all my messages, but once I try to view it by clicking on it, it won't be there.
