smoothing by pieces

Hi, I need to smooth out a curve, but the problem is, there are peaks which must not be smoothed.

Currently, I select the area that needs to be smoothed and then I remove the data points and interpolate the values.

the problem here is that is not specific enough or it will cost you a lot too long.

is there another way to smooth only parts of a curve, or put a filter on the parts of a curve?

Thank you.

Hi Normann,

If you have DIAdem 2010 (11.2) or later, then you should try the "Savitzky-Golay" filter in the palette "Curve Fitting" ANALYSIS - cela se smooth curve all by keeping the cutting edge information.

Another option would be to try the "digital filters" in the palette 'Signal' ANALYSIS - if your noise is a frequency higher than your pics one works well enough low-pass filter (check the box 'Force the zero phase' in the tab 'Settings of the IIR').

If none of this works, then the only way to apply the smoothing by pieces is to cut out the sections you want to smooth the new channels in new channels, smooth, then put the sections of return as well as the sections without smoothing.  There is no ANALYSIS dialog box to do, but it can be automated with a VBScript.

    BM,

    In addition to say Scott and Mike, you can:

    (1) draw the left leg first, as is it is left feet weren't there (just connect the pieces that you can do with less care on the invisible parts), you can use the fill;

    (2) draw the gator together as a single external shape (on the left leg), you can use the fill;

    (3) draw a shape that follows the upper part of the pale belly and continues in the outer form (the outer part can be established with less care;

    (4) draw the white in the eyes (the left eye may extend outside the outer form);

    (5) draw the dark-eyed;

    (6) copy the outside shape at the front, select it and the shape of the belly and Pathfinder > Intersect zones form or the harvest;

    (7) do the same for the left eye.

    To give you a taste of how to drag the tool pen, it should be an anchor at the corner of the mouth, two at the end of the lower jaw, and one where the jaw meets the neck.

    Edit: Hi Scott.

    In addition (another), when you are faced with an anchor Point positioning, you can press space and move it while the handles are locked, then let go and adjust the additional handles and tap it and move and so on.

  • Smoothing the rough lines? (Details in the post)

    Hi all. Thanks in advance I spill the details.

    I hand draw my art. After the scan it, I use the trace function in Illustrator with a value of 2 usually, blur then pull upward in Photoshop to touch up the lines.

    My dilemma is: how to smooth out the lines in my designs? What I did with SOME success is from the return PSD file in Illustrator, make some blur again, then back to Psalm

    In addition, I have attached a sample of a scanned drawing. If you guys/girls have a better and more simple way to smooth out the lines, I'm all ears.Scan0001.jpg

    Thank you!

    Howdy.

    Beautiful technique, Noel.

    Chewingcow: I don't know what you want to do with your image. If you need a line made without much editable, technical Christmas looks great. But if you want maximum editability, jump to Ps and learn to do it in Illustrator. If you check the forums Adobe Illustrator, the limitations of automatic Trace are a frequent topic. If the results you get need a trip to the Ps to get cleaned up, you might reconsider using Auto Trace. The big dogs world Illy always recommend to avoid Auto Trace and recommend instead followed by hand, using the pen tool. More you do it, you get faster. Of course, Illy has simple tools to create the geometric pieces.

    I know not how much you know about Illy, but in the time it takes to move back from Illy to Ps, you could probably recreate it from scratch in Illustrator. And have a fully editable and extremely scalable vector image.

    I made tracing below using the pen, with the exception of a circle tool, which I did with the Oval tool. It took only a few minutes.

    I kept going, and 20 minutes later, the drawing is converted to outlines. Twenty minutes is not a long time your art to speak. Especially when you consider where this 20 minutes gets you. From there, the rest is gravy.

    The foregoing has a stroke applied to paths. But if you want it to look more hand drawn, you can apply a brush instead of a stroke. There are tons of brushes in Illy, and it's easy to create your own. You can apply a brush that makes lines look smooth or rough. With a single mouse click, the image above looks like the image below. It seems tougher than the original. You can make it look like it was drawn with a pencil or a pen of calligraphy if you want.

    Or you can apply the color. Mouse over just a few clicks. One of the bazillion of opportunities.

    It is well worth your while to vectorize your art in Illustrator. It allows the same artwork as anything a business card for a T-shirt to a wrap of the car at a billboard of output. PS, not so much. There is a reason that illustrator is called Illustrator and Photoshop called Photoshop.

    But, if you really want to use Ps (this is the Ps forum, after all), I used to scan stuff hand drawn in Ps all the time. But I've rarely analysed in full compositions as in your example. I scanned in pieces and assembled with other art created in PS. My process is quite simple.

    I used the quick selection tool to select the Africa.

    Then, using the palette traced, I converted the selection to a vector using the command create a track work with tolerance set to 1.5. I usually put it entre.8 and 2, depends on the resolution of the image and a contrast. Fill and stroke have been applied. The form is not quite perfect (image of low resolution, blurry drawing are less accurate quick selection tool. The sharper your drawing, the better it works.), but it can be changed by using the vector tools in PS. I add Madagascar to the layer of Africa and organize other forms in appropriate laters. Build the image in this way, you get maximum editability. Not as good as Illustrator, but I made this way for years before I'm Illy.

    For what it's worth.

    Peace,

    Lee

  • Flash does not work smoothly

    Hi, I created a short Flash for a site Web-to-be, but he stopped, and then does not work smoothly when downloaded from the site. Flash animation are only 600 kb. What can I do to fix this?

    http://www.highmarkdesigns.com/proofing/worldfamous/animation/intro.html

    Hi Hanna,

    Save and Compact is an option right under the registration option. It removes all memory changes and the objects that no longer exist. But if everything in this piece is a jpeg, which is not likely to change much.

    Based on the Visual quality of the jpegs, I would say that they are probably high KB pieces... GIF would be more appropriate and would probably provide some savings in file size. JPGs are better for images with lots of colors and shades. GIFs are better for images with limited colors and color areas as in this piece.

    The 600KB is everyone involved with just a scene? If so, I have personally he would redraw all in Flash, just for the KB savings, but that's me. As I said, the amount of graphics it would amount to almost nothing as graphic Flash drawn.

  • FCPX video source smooth but not in the panel mounting or output

    I have some video that was shot on an iPhone 6s. When I find the video in the preview of the finder or Quick Time Player, it plays perfectly. I import it into FCPX and the video plays perfectly into in the clip viewer. I then added to the timeline, and when he reads in the timeline there slight hesitation, they are not bad as studdering but they are there. If I export the video, he will not hesitate in the exported as video. I've adjusted the video preview for better performance generator and have searched around, but can't find anything that helps solve this problem.

    A test I import the Go Pro Studio video and convert video and then export it and the playback of the video perfectly in the exported video.

    Do you have any ideas where to look? It's frustrating as using FCPX is really nice, now I just need the video play smoothly.

  • macOS Sierra: browser scrollbar is not smooth

    Hi guys,.

    After upgrading my Mac Air Sierra, I noticed that the two browser (Chrome and Safari) are not as smooth scrolling it was.

    Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

    I think that he would have something to do with the graphics drivers...

    Kind regards

    Ariel

    I actually noticed the opposite. The unifying software does not have an update for Mac OS Sierra until 22 September for my mouse had been delayed everywhere and buttons upstream and downstream were not working. But once I downloaded the update 26, mouse movements eventually smooth out.

    And it was not only move, he was also scrolling. Everything is butter smooth now, better than it was in El Captain. Accessories both to the Logitech team for improvements.

    If you have not updated the unifying software, now is a good time to do so.

  • MacOS Sierra runs smoothly in my mac?

    Hey everybody,

    I use a MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012) with the following configuration:

    Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

    RAM: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

    The latest version of the OS will work in a smooth way, or it may cause some problems and be slow? :/

    Please let me know and help determine the weather I should update or not

    It should be good. You may consider upgrading the RAM, but if you run not usually intensive tasks on your Mac 4 GB should be OK.

    Freezes in Finder. looks like pieces of various files, and I don't see any specific file to select. Only solution is to shut down the computer and restart. How can get fixed?

    Try to drag the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file to the trash (not empty.) Also, drag the /Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.finder/ folder to the trash.

    If you see not the folder/Home/Library/and then see the following:

    Press RETURN.

    B. click on the desktop, press the Option (⌥) key, select library in the Finder menu go.

  • Font smoothing/render in firefox on windows 10-40

    Hello

    I just upgraded to 40 FF on my windows 10. The rendering of fonts is very jagged on the custom fonts on sites I visit. Is there something I can do to remedy this? On my Mac with 40 FF, the problem does not exist.

    You have an Nvidia graphics card? Mozilla has disabled hardware acceleration for some Nvidia Windows 10 driver software, and this reduces the ability of Firefox to smooth fonts. I hope this will be fixed soon, but I'm not familiar with when Nvidia maybe get out an update.

    Associates of thread: Firefox's waste policies.

    If it's NOT Nvidia, hmm, we will have many more questions.

  • Smooth scrolling Firefox 40 problem

    Since I upgraded to Firefox for PC 40, I noticed that the smooth scrolling is not smooth at all. Fact scroll the page, but the text is choppy I scroll down. By "jerky", I mean that it seems that it is refreshing and redraw on the page instead of scrolling.

    Unchecking the options-> advanced-> general-> use of smooth scrolling eliminates the jerks, but now the scroll is not smooth and now is similar to a button "next page".

    Scroll smoothly worked very well in 39 FF.

    I have an eVGA (NVIDIA) GeForce GTX 960 graphic card running v353.62

    Any ideas? I'm NOT having this problem in Edge or Chrome 44, so I guess it's Firefox 40 associated...

    Hi, it's probably because of the current nvidia gforce driver be blacklisted to use hardware acceleration, due to an explosion in firefox crashes, it was originally in windows 10 until this problem is resolved...

  • Need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for users on a Remote Desktop Session.

    Hello
    I need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for any user that connects to an RDS Server. I messed up the mozilla.cfg and created an autoconfig.js file. I guess I'm missing something along the way.

    This is currently my autoconfig.js
    Pref ("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    Pref ("general.config.obscure_value", 1);
    Pref ("app.update.channel", "liberation");

    Mozilla.cfg
    Smooth Scrolling disabled
    lockpref ("general.smoothScroll.disabled", true);
    disables hardware acceleration
    lockPref ("layers.acceleration.disabled", true);
    lockPref ("gfx.direct2d.disabled", true);

    All that I'm missing? When I restart the two options are always checked in the options.

    Thank you!!

    Hi b1gt3x, you use a clear cfg file, you'll want to put this in your instead of autoconfig.js:

    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

    In addition, you will have to make lockPref with a capital P in any case - that it reacts very sensitive to spelling errors...

    -to activate ClearType (evil - looking actually fonts)
    -to activate the smoothing (even) windows fonts
    -to deactivate fonts in firefox (works, but a bit brokes many sites)
