SODIMM DDR2 and SDRAM SODIMM DDR2

I looked a site selling RAM for laptops and he said there "a DDR or DDR2 SODIMM will fit is not in a standard SDRAM SODIMM socket '...

What does that mean? I have a Hp Pav dv2410ca... intended to buy new RAM because it came with 2 x 512 memory. The word "SDRAM" is really important for my laptop?

Here is a link to the memory by Corsair for your laptop.links in Kingston, G Skill,

This is little. Don't forget and buy compatible memory guaranteed and not a noname brand.

Memory modules must be unbuffered, non - ECC DDR2 200 - pin SODIMM. No other type of memory module will work on your laptop.

You don't have to bother with the memory modules expensive HP. Corsair and Kingston are better and cheaper way. It is not just good economy of rocket science and common sense.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Satellite A60 supports PC2700 DDR SODIMM 200 pin like on this page says:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=8333&ft=m&St=3

Only a single memory is expandable! So, you can use only one slot for an upgrade!
You can use max 1024MB module and memory can be improved for max 1.25 or 1.5 GB. (according to the amount of memory the memory internal)

The speed of the module can be different! I m not 100% sure, but I guess that the laptop supports a 533 MHz FSB (front side bus) and therefore, you can use the modules of PC2700 memory with 533 MHz speed.

My I Mac computer is older than 6 years and became slower and slower.  I added the memory once in the past which has contributed to the speed.  He was clocked at 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo for a processor and memory is 4 GB 800 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.  I wonder if I it is better to buy more memory or if the computer needs to be replaced, it still works very well for email and working on small documents, but it is really slow and crashes when working with images and large files.  Any advice is welcome.

Is it possible to install CS5 or CS5.5 on a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM MacBook Pro 10.6 (Snow Leopard) running?

Before posting my question, I checked the requirements of system/hardware for Creative Suite, as well on Internet Apple and Adobe sites. But however I'm confused about the difference between 'Processor Intel multicore' vs 'Core 2 Duo' and hearing stories CS5 works not properly in similar situations because of hardware problems.

    Hi LMDV,

    Welcome to the community!

Intel multi-core processor, also known as the Dual core processor is required to run the CS5 or CS5.5, you have the Core 2 Duo which is better then Dual core and enough to run CS5 and CS5.5 applications. You just need to check the other requirements of system that is mentioned here:

  • Difference between DDR2 PC2-4300 PA3411S-2M1G and PA3411U-2M1G?

How is the difference between DDR2 PC2-4300 PA3411S-2M1G and PA3411U-2M1G? I would like to buy, but I don't know who for Toshiba Satellite A100-847? Help, please

I understand that you are a bit confused, but the two modules are the same.
    The modules are 1 GB PC2-4300 DDR2 533 MHz
I think that it s just a new version and, therefore, it s a different number.

I discovered that the module of PA3411U-2M1G is compatible and you can use it.

  • Satellite L30 and 2x1GB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 667 compatibility

I've seen a few posts here on the incompatibility of the L30 and have 2x1GB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 667 modules installed. Apart from the demotion to 2x1GB PC2-4200 modules, nobody put in point a reason why this problem occurs.

My Satellite L30-00100E comes preinstalled with 2x256MB DDR2 533 PC2-4200. My current BIOS is v2.10 latest (available on the website).

I have a couple of spare 1 GB 667 modules of work (which has been tested as working). I put them in my L30 and tried a few tests using MemTest86. Essentially, these tests pass:

1x1GB (any module in any accommodation)
1x1GB + 1x256MB (any module in any accommodation)

What does work is 2 x 1 GB! It will fail on the random test (test #7), and it always fails on what appears to be a random address memory under the address range of 1024 MB. I have yet to see a mistake over 1024 MB and this happens no matter what order the modules are installed in the slots. What I see is something like this:

Address: 942.6 (this changes - but still less than 1 024 MB)
    Writing: 0x2cd48206 (this change)
Read: 0x2cd48286 (this change - but the 2nd to the last value was released by 0x80)
    Diff: 0 x 00000080 (it's always the same)

The Diff value is always the same and makes me think that it is a little be overthrown so that it should not be.

Memory 667 MHz is now able to run at 533 MHz, the memory is good, and some combinations work 667, so I suspect that it is a BIOS problem. Maybe it's just get confused by the memory timings?

    What can I/we/Toshiba?

BTW - I put t really want to buy 533 MHz RAM, especially now that 667 is cheaper. So, for now, I'm stuck at 1x1GB + 1x256MB RAM... ie a 667 with a 533 mix!

    Hello

This is not the problem of BIOS!
I also read several discussions on the problem of memory upgrade on L30 and all people have the same problem; the Crucial modules are not compatible or do not work!

I have a L30 at home and I could upgrade the L30 with a 1 024 MB module. It was one of Kingston.

As you say of the L30 is FSB 533 MHz it is therefore absurd to use the 667 MHz module. If the 667 Mhz modules are better markets than 533 Mhz modules, then I suppose that the quality of these modules is not the best.

In general, the quality and performance of the modules without name is bad and I do not recommend the use of these modules for different reasons.

Use the recommended Toshiba modules and good luck!

  • Differences between RAM SODIMM memory: H2P65AA and B4U40AA

    Greetings,

Could you please explain to me what is the difference between the two memory modules:

    http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10421632 - HP 8 GB DDR3 - 1600 SODIMM Memory B4U40AA

I was asked to buy H2P65AA memory, but it seems hard to find here, however, some stores offer B4U40AA. They are the same or not, can it be used rather than another?

    Thanks in advance!

I understand that you want to know the difference between the 2 sticks of RAM in your links.

The second module of RAM is thicker and wider as the first module of RAM, but it less expensive.  If the system going in what H2P65AA memory, so I would say that the memory of B4U40AA does not work because of the different dimensions between the two.  Then the specifications of RAM seem to be the same, I suspect that the memory of B4U40AA do not fit properly.

  • Use underclocked RAM OK? Mix of DDR and DDR2?

I have an old HP Pavilion ze4904us that I am trying to suckle along the inexepnsively.  The installed RAM is 256 MB PC2700 DDR 333 clocked at 133 MHz.

Can I add a second band of PC3200 1 GB and have the PC3200 underclock to perform at the PC2700 133 MHz level?

Pushing the envelope more, I might add that a PC4200 DDR2, 1 GB bandwidth that would be underclock to match the band 256 MB?

DDR2 will fit into the slot (204) 200pin DDR?

If I install just the faster RAM, the system auto adjust to use the fastest rate of RAM (always underclocked) allowed?

If the hi-speed RAM to work, it will draw more power (while running at the slower speed)?  I don't want to accidentally

    Hello:

DDR 1, 2, 3 modules of memory are incompatible with each other.

As a device for the protection of a person installing a DDR2, DDR3 chip in a PC that is running DDR memory, the notches are cut at different places on each DDR 1, 2, 3, module.

This also applies to the DDR2 in a versa visa and the card mother DDR3.

Thus, you can't push the envelope on this one, because you don't yet get a chance to try it because of the physical design of each chip.

Now, you should be able to install a DDR PC3200 in your laptop and it should downclock to 333 speed but I can't guarantee that.

Older notebooks, the finnicky more than they are on what memory you install.

So, all what I can say is if you have a PC3200 module about, try and if it works fine.  If it is not then it is not.

If you plan to buy a module then get one that is compatible with your device.

I go to a site like Crucial or Kingston and use their memory selectors to find the right memory for your laptop.

    They normally guarantee compatibility too.

Moreover, according to the specifications of your laptop maximum memory is only 1 GB installed as 2 x 512 MB modules.

  • Unlike DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 RAM

    Hi guys.

My office was very old since 2004 until now I still use it, my RAM is 1 GB DDR RAM only. But I have a question, if I buy the 4 GB DDR3 or DDR2 RAM for upgrade to my computer, it can support DDR, DDR2 or DDR3?

    Hope will understand.

You buy RAM suitable for your motherboard. DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 have a physical mechanism that prevents the insertion in a slot that is intended for another type of RAM.

Search RAM for your PC. I've never seen a motherboard which had slots for the different generations of DDR RAM, for example, where you can use either DDR or DDR2, but this does not mean that there is no such a motherboard.

Kingston and Crucial are advisers on their Web sites.
