Software for Palm Zire M150

I have a new PC with Windows 8.  I want to get the software for my Palm Zire M150 so I can load on my new PC.  Where can I get the software to download?  I want to put the Palm Desktop on this new computer.  Or do you know another more recent software I can load which would take the data already, I have on my old PC and install it on my new?  Is there such a thing out there?

Thank you!

  • Does hard reset wiping all software on Palm Zire 31?

I was given the device by a student who was more useful.  I would like to delete a software called CompTracker but also to clear the calendar, etc., while not losing do not have any other software again on the device.  How can I do this?

Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

A hard reset will be wipe everything clean, all the data and applications and leave you with just the built-in apps that come preinstalled.  The Zire 31 has also come with additional third-party software (see below) on the installation disc.  If you hard reset the device without first HotSync on your computer, you will lose these third party apps, unless you also have the original disc and any other person that the previous owner had installed as well.

You can first install Palm Desktop on your computer, then sync.  HotSync must recognize the Hotsync ID existing on the device and create this ID on your computer, then save all applications and data to your desktop.

Then you can Hard Reset the device and Hotsync again.  This time, when it asks you what Hotsync ID to use, create a new one for yourself.  Later, you can go in Palm files on your desktop (c > program files > palm) and look for the user folders.  There's one for the old ID Hotsync, and one for the other, you just created, they'll folder names that will resemble the Hotsync ID somehow, perhaps an abbreviation or combination of initials.  In the previous user folder, locate the backup folder.  Which will house all the third-party applications that were previously installed.  You can double click on those you want to restore.

[NOTE: many commercial third parties applications require a registration or activation code in order to work beyond the trial period.]  [These activation codes are generated based on the unique Hotsync ID of the device, which means that if the previous owner purchased the software that you want to continue to use, you will not be able to do it with a new Hotsync ID... you could use existing ID the device]

  • Software for Palm M30

    Hallo,

I bought a new (!) Palm m130 this year and it works fine after I changed the battery. Unfortunately, it has only basic work-standard software.

Anyone know where I can find other software which could be loaded down when this product is real?

    Thank you for the answers!

    Ozo

I can't tell you if a malicious software are there, but historically there had no viruses written for PalmOS.

I remember a 'proof of concept' many years ago, but it never came out in nature.

I have downloaded many files from there without any problem.

Select the application you wish to convey.

I have this Palm and need to know how I can get hot sync for Palm computer work if possible thanks.

Hardware support, including but not limited to all the drivers and other software, is manufacturer of the equipment.  Microsoft did not your Palm Zire m150 - so that they do not support.  ;-)

However, in looking at those who could...

  • Palm Zire 71 and Windows 7 - device is not recognized

The computer does not recognize the device. It's like the USB port isn't there.  Nothing wrong with the port or connections.  Is this a compatibility issue with Windows 7 and the Palm Zire 71?

    Hi Marianne,.

    1. What is the exact error message you get when you try to connect to the device?

    2. what type of system of your computer (System 32-bit or 64-bit)?

Palm Zire 71 is compatible with Windows 7 32 - bit system but incompatible with the 64-bit system.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?l=en-us&s=Palm%20Zire%2071&type=hardware&OS=32-bit

I suggest to uninstall the installed driver for Palm Zire 71 software and reinstall them using once more.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/uninstall-or-change-a-program

Also, connect the device to another computer in Windows 7 and check if it works very well.

  • REPLACEMENT FOR ZIRE M150

My Zire M150 is finally broken. I have a lot of personal data stored on my computer main hardrive I want to transfer to a new device held in the hand. The Zire uses the Palm OS 4.1 software. I am looking for a solution of low cost / low tech, i.e. I need the address book, calendar and Notepad but not much more, although the ability to sync with my main computer is vital. Can someone direct me to a new feature please?

Hello and welcome to the Palm support community.

From your description of your desires and your needs, your best bet is to go on eBay and look for a device Palm OS used or refurbished replacement, like a Z22, Tungsten E2 or a TX.  Palm has stopped selling new PDA a year and half ago.

    Good luck.

  • 64 bit Windows7/8/8.1/10 USB drivers for Palm Desktop

Thank you people much more to Aceeca.com (Palm OS Garnet NEW manufacturers), the USB drivers for Vista, Windows 7 and 8 Win 64 bit operating systems are available.  There are many users Palm Desktop 4.x strives also to the declaration.

I have synced my TX my Vista64 laptop computer bits and Windows 8.1 HP spectrum X 2 hybrid successfully through my USB cable.

    The drivers are located here:

    Aceeca Driver Downloads

(NOTE: as of today, 01/08/2016 Aceeca site to be down for 'construction'.)  Drivers can also be found here: http://www.palmdr.com/windows-7-64-bit-usb-drivers)

Installation instructions for Windows 7 (from Aceeca) are included in the download.

    Basic instructions:

1 download the drivers and extract them in the same folder.  Remember the folder that you extracted to.

    2. try to HotSync your device.  It will fail.

    3. open the Device Manager and look for the yellow Triangle next to the other "Acceca" or "'Palm device ' in the"Other devices"section."

    4. right click on the device and choose "Update driver software".

    5. choose "Browse my computer for software" and guide them to the folder that you extracted the drivers Aceeca.

6 choose 'Next' in the driver and then file location window tell him 'Confidence always Aceeca Ltd. software', then click on the button "install".

    7. I received an error message (Vista64) who told me "the drivers have been installed, but the device could not be opened." I realized my TX had expired, and fell asleep.  I tried a HotSync and it worked!

    Good luck!

NOTE: Palm Desktop 6.22 may only multimedia show and install.  Here's how to fix this:

If Palm Desktop 6.2.2 shows only the media and installation, try this: right click on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, and then choose 'run as administrator '.  Other modules should appear.

To Palm Desktop run as administrator every time in Windows 8 / 8.1:

Close to Palm Desktop, if it is open.  (This is a very important thing to do when you use 6.2.2 - it has been known to lose data when a computer is shut down without closing the program!)

Right click on the desktop icon of Palm in the metro screen, then choose "open file location".  You will now see the actual file for the shortcut.

Right-click on the file "Palm Desktop" shortcut, then properties.  Now, choose the tab compatibility at the top.

At the bottom of the Compatibility tab is a checkbox: "run this program as an administrator", click OK.

Try to open the Palm Desktop, all parties must appear.  You can see a box opens when you close the program asking "did the program runs correctly.   I chose 'Yes', and it has been working fine since then!

If you are using a much older PalmOS device and try using Palm Desktop 4.x, you will need this additional patch Pimlico Software:

"After you try your first HotSync and failing (as expected) you may be unable to find any trace of the device in Device Manager, making the next step very difficult. It is me, and after some research, I discovered the following trick that allows Device Manager to display hidden and devices not present.

Open Notepad and paste the following two lines are:

    Set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1
    Start devmgmt.msc

Save it as SetDev.bat in My Documents.

Open My Documents in Windows Explorer and double-click SetDev.bat. Device Manager opens.

On the view menu, select Show hidden devices.

You can now see in the other position of the device with a yellow triangle against it.

You can now proceed to install the drivers according to the instructions.

Note that the driver supports most versions of Palm OS. "I actually use an Aceeca Meazura 1000 rugged PDA running OS 4.1 - bobboffin.

  • Palm Zire 71 works only with Windows Vista

I recently updated a program that I use on my desktop and sync with my Palm Zire 71. To get the new update on my Palm, I tried to use Palm quick install. I believe that this does not work with Windows Vista!  What are my options?  I don't know how to get this update on my Palm so that I can synchronize my data between my desktop and Palm Zire 71. Any suggestions for this?

Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to quick setup, or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Software and Palm Desktop v6.2

I am a happy new Blackberry so far, but have grave on something which is very annoying.  I'm trying to move the data from my Palm TX, but Blackberry Desktop does not recognize the version of the Palm Desktop software that I use.

    What makes difficult:

    • It seems that I have a not supported version of Palm Desktop (at least from the point of view of Blackberry).
    • I don't have the option to go to a previous version of Palm Desktop.  Older versions do not run on Vista.
    • I don't have Outlook.

    Any thoughts?

Well, I finally got my Palm data transferred.  First of all, I was pleasantly surprised that Yahoo was in favour of the list of tasks, which was the only thing that I thought was missing.  I did a sync of my BB with Yahoo and saw that an entry of each type of test was transferred to Yahoo and vice versa.  So my problem is then a matter of getting the data from Palm to Yahoo.

Approach 1: Use the Yahoo with Palm Desktop synchronization tool.

Result: Did not work.  Synchronization of Yahoo support Palm Desktop 6.2.

Method 2: Save the Palm data in a file to archive and use the Yahoo import tool.

Result: Did not work.  The file format for Palm Desktop 6.2 was not supported by Yahoo.

Method 3: Dig a notebook laminated out of my Studio and install an older version of Palm Desktop.

Result: I got the Palm Desktop installed, then noticed that this laptop has Outlook on this.   I sync my Palm with Outlook, then installed the Yahoo Sync tool.  Synchronize and all my Palm data were sucked in Yahoo.  Returned to my Vista machine and ran the sync of BB and all the data from Yahoo are down.

    Finally!

    Thanks for your help.
