  New Alienware Area 51 R2 (end of 2014) happened the month last in January 2015. Not tried any DVD or Blue-ray until yesterday. The optical drive eject button does not work in windows pro 8.1, but soft eject works in click with the right button on the drive and select "eject". • Software Windows 7 and HP Image Zone

  I have a new Pavilion s5212y w/Windows 7 and a HP printer Photosmart 8450 that comes with the HP Image Zone software for image editing.  The software is not supported by Windows 7, will not be installed (tells me to upgrade op - sys).  Is there a work around for this or the software will be compatible with the new system?  Don't get me wrong, the printer works well, it's just that I can't use the software to edit photos before printing.  Thank you.

  1 login as administrator

  2. load installation CD.  Find setup.exe, do a right click, select troubleshoot compatibility.  Accept the XP mode.

  3. start the program.

  4. it takes some time to install the program.  Be patient.

  5 ignore all messages that the program may not have install correctly.

  6. once the program is loaded, click Next and save the settings.  Ingore the error messages.

  Once the program is loaded, you can copy the shortcut (s) of the Office of the administrator to other users or just create a new shortcut.

Go to the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software utility, under settings, make sure that 'Digital footprint use the power button instead of' is checked.   first thing I could do with it would be to reinstall the operating
  system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
  which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
  There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone
  other errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc. and I
  would not recommend anyone else to do.

  Your choice of course, but in my opinion, you're playing with fire if you
  do not reinstall Windows properly.

  Well, there are millions of people using Windows 7, and they are not facing this problem.  So it's either a hardware problem as I mentioned, or if you have bad drivers for your motherboard or a system that do not work correctly with Windows 7.  I would contact the manufacturer of your computer to check with their team of support on the issue and see if they can help you debug the problem.  If your machine is just off, it is a hardware problem or a driver problem.  Windows can not really just cause your computer off instantly, as you describe, not without the help of a driver.
