  The last two days my computer was unable to shut down properly. It will get to the screen that says it stops but then actually turn off and I have to press and hold the power button. I am running Windows Vista. Unfortunately, I don't have my original vista windows disc to replace the corrupted by a correct file.

  Help please! My just called and said she received a call from a compnay called Windows Live Help (I know what it is, I don't think they have made appeals to the people). It totally sounds like a scam to me, but I want to make sure.   What began with 105 updates in December 2015 and most have been installed, but there were several who didn't leave 3-4 error codes that I could solve.  An error listed above code refers to a manifesto of CBS bribe.  I was chasing it in circles, running each troubleshooting and Fix It.  My PC goes through the Windows Update, download and install them, with very little success settles, most will fail with the same error.
