[SOLVED] Firefox crashes

Hello

Since a few days, my firefox crashes regularly. It seems to be related to the javascript, but I'm not sure.

What I did to try to resolve the problem:
-updated firefox to 14.0.1 and today 15.0
-update all addons and plugins.
-disabled uneeded addons
-recreate a new profile from scratch.
-updated my system, it rebooted several times
-used ccleaner to clean my system and fix the broken in my registry entries.

I'm a bit lost with this problem that I did everything my idea and I'm helping at all.

Do you have any idea what's going on here?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi digrouz, a recent update of the graphics driver has created problems of ballooning memory usage and crashes. Could you try to disable graphics hardware acceleration?

You need to restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

If you restart Firefox, is the problem solved (or at least enhanced)?

    Sorry to hear about the accident. If you get the Mozilla Crash Reporter form, your Firefox could have registered some data that would help to find the cause of the problem. You can submit these data to Mozilla and share with the volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox blocks - ask for help" to get the procedure to get these crash report IDs since the topic: block the page and then after the most recent here.

    Note: If Firefox is not stable enough to use the subject: page crashes, the article also describes how to check for submitted crash IDs disk report.

    Firefox crashes and makes internet Explorer and also chromium at startup. Chrome works however after reintallation, but may break after a reboot.

  • Firefox crashed and does not give me the option to restore my previous session.

    Hello

    I've been using firefox for a while now and so far, ive never had a problem like this.

    Firefox crashed last night while I was asleep, and when I woke up this morning to turn it back on, the crash reporter asked me that if I wanted to restart firefox, I did, but when it is loaded, instead of asking if I wanted to restore my previous session, he loaded a blank page which had a white patch is looking for unusual at the top where the tab bar is supposed to be , with the legs of loading below.

    The tabs that I had loaded were all very important to me and I would like to find a way to get back them if possible, however, I was unable to find anything on the other help pages that describes the solves my problem.

    Please help if you can, it would be greatly appreciated.

    PS I apologize for not to include an image of the window of buggy, it didn't occur to me to take a screenshot before I closed it.

    sessionstore.bak files are no longer used in current versions of Firefox, so they are probably for some time ago (seven 2014:20140923175406) and may no longer be of use.

    One possible way to inspect a sessionstore.js file or a file in the sessionstore-backups folder is open in a Firefox tab and to evaluate that JavaScript code in the Web Console (Firefox/tools > Web Developer).

    Paste the code into the Web Console command line and press the Enter key to evaluate the code.

    eval("ss = "+document.body.innerHTML.replace("<pre>","").replace("</pre>",""));
    sd='';
    for (var i = 0; i < ss.windows[0].tabs.length; i++) {
     var ent = ss.windows[0].tabs[i].entries;
     var last = ent[ent.length-1];
     sd+="["+(i+1)+"]:"+"<a href="+last.url+">"+last.url+"</a><br />";

    Only in the last day, I started having problems with Firefox crashing. In the first hour, the problem only seemed to happen when I went to some websites, such as Gmail or YouTube.

    Now, however, Firefox will crash as soon as I open a new empty tab. I am able to start Firefox, and it will show the page to "re-establish the Session. I can use the menu to open, for example, on: supports, but as soon as I do CMD + T to open a new tab, Firefox will crash.

  • Firefox crashes on my own website

    BP-0f555e72-2bc6-47D5-9645-3e8682150629
    Firefox crashes on my own web site, http://donsongs.com/. When you click on my links of mp3 music, on the Pages of the Album. Also on several other video Web Sites. Like this one, http://weather.climate25.com/project/nicky-sundt/. This only happens in my Fedora 14 Linux system. And hard for the last month or more. Firefox 38.0.5 and more developers of Firefox, Crash, when I access those files. I have no problems in Fedora 20 or 21, in my other systems. I keep Flash and Java to update. I have tested with all Plugins updated 'ask to activate '. And with VLC - Totem and OpenH264, the value "always-on", as well as other variants. It makes no difference. I also tested in Mode without failure of Firefox, without change. Accidents still happen. I wanted to ask and see if you have other ideas. Before I try to do a "Refresh Firefox". I don't want to start over and reinstall everything, if I can solve this...

    Thank you

    Don

    Firefox will try parts MP3s natively, without a plugin, using Gstreamer. Looking at the "thread crash" in the report you linked, Firefox seems to try to do it when it crashes.

    If implementation of Gstreamer of Firefox is not compatible with this version of Fedora, you can probably disable a preference by typing about: config. As a Windows user, I don't know exactly what to look for, but I can see that the source code contains one called media.gstreamer.enabled that you can turn to false and see if that helps.

  • Firefox crashes after closing any window.

    I have this problem that firefox always stuck at like 20 seconds every time when I close another window of firefox. I usually have several firefox windows open at the same time. When I'm near one of them, the rest of them get stuck seconds before they can do anything, sometimes fell (not common). I see that firefox crashing usually has to do with some windows of firefox were running online video, like youtube or others. It can be any advertising on a Web site that is in the form of moving images. But crashing isn't really common. Just stuck everytime when I close a window of firefox among others.

    I thought it was because my computer is old but Internet Explorer doesn't have this problem on my computer. I even downgraded firefox to version 28 ( I used to have the latest, 36?) That did not solve the problem. I am running on windows 7. I would like to keep using firefox because it allows add-on so I don't want to switch to IE. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

    Take all your suggestions, I updated Adobe flash player. Checked, but there is nothing to update on the graphics card. Check the extensions you mentioned (and disable and enable as suggested), okay, once I have disabled this "dictionary tooltip 1.7" extension, firefox works great. Any delay to the closure of firefox windows more.

    (But the adobe flash player update seems to be a bad idea. Now Firefox, in general, is a bit slower running more often. "But I tell myself that I can still downgrade flash drive and it does not seem to cause a problem with firefox running on my computer). In any case, should I disable this "dictionary tooltip" to solve this problem?

    AW, too bad. I looked hard for a good add-on English Dictionary. I am a stranger and really need a dictionary English somple surf any website. More English dictionary add-on is too fancy. Click on the word and it will be displayed as, that you want you, dictionary, thesaurus, or something else, or what dictionary you want your definition of etc.

    I want just an add-on of simple English dictionary that will give me a definition right now. With this fancy add-on dictionary, my clicking on a single page, double or triple. It's really bad when I have to click 20 times, becoming now forty times (or sixty times) just for a single page. If suggestions about this simple English dictionary add-on is there someone?

  • Firefox crashes when you try to locate a Web site to the start page

    Hello.

    Whenever I try to pin a website to the start page, Firefox crashes. Research in newspapers, I see:

    E/GeckoCrashHandler (11176): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteConstraintException: failure of the foreign key constraint (code 19)

    I'm on CyanogenMod 10.2.1.3 (4.3.1 Android) on a Samsung S4 Mini (GT-I9195).

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thanks again pwzapp!

    I'll have to ask our developers and other techniques

    It is perhaps related to this bug:

    The only thing I can say at this point is to try Firefox 38 beta version of the game store (or wait until that Firefox 37.0.2 comes out later this week or early next week)

  • 36.0.1 under Windows 7 Firefox crashes on the first click, can't kill processes

    After the 36.0.1 on a Windows 7 computer, Firefox crashes after the first click on a link or when you try to open a new tab. I can't kill the process from the Task Manager. Need to reboot to get rid of the process.

    My attempts to solve the problem so far:
    Uninstalled Firefox & my anti-virus program, removed Mozilla dirs Program Files and AppData and cleaned the registry. Then reinstalled Firefox after the restart, still hangs on the first click on a link. Even impossible to kill the process, help to only to restart.

    I tried on another Windows user; does not help. Still the same symptoms.

    PS: Related to this thread: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1051108

    Thank you for your support. Given the quick succession of versions of Firefox, I just waited out 37. My problem is over now.

  • Quick Firefox crashes

    Good evening

    Recently, I am facing a lot of quick firefox crash and I went through all the troubleshooting steps step, until I arrived (disabling addon-by-time, plugin by time).

    The problem had been solved almost when I took (ask to activate, NOT always enable) option for flash player, which is the latest version of flash player.

    I don't know if it is on the drive flash itself, or is it some kind of conflict between flash player and a few other addon/plugin that kept causing this problem.

    My windows is 8.1, without virus, fully updated system and hardware is fully functional without glitches.

    My question is: has anyone an idea of whether it's may be a conflict between flash player and another addon/plugin, what causes this problem? or it's all about flash player it self? *

    • As far as I know, the list of addons/plugins has been attached with this report, which can be reviewed.

    Thank you guys in advance for taking the time to consider this issue...

    Sometimes there is a conflict between the version of the Flash plugin and an extension which affects its content, for example a downloader or ad blocker.

    It is a standard orientation which addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of them before in various support articles, but just in case:

    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media to ensure that they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) disable the Protected Mode. The function has the security benefits, but it is not compatible with all systems for some reason any. You can turn it off by creating or modifying a parameter file.

    The following/post pages which provide different approaches:

    You will need to exit and restart Firefox before it take effect.

    Any improvement?

    Update, the pop-up is blocked for these sites to e-mail when you try to attach a document. There is a little, there was a pop-up Blocker warning when I tried to join an e-mail to a Gmail composition window.
    To add it to the exceptions list, you can go to:

    1. 3 'bar' menu > Preferences > content > Pop ups and click "Exceptions"... »
    2. Add the url here and then reload the page to see if you can now add an attachment.
