Some fonts appear slim after export .pdf

A strange thing that happens after I export an indesign document. PDF

The number '5' shows that a thin police while in the 'regular' document is used for all characters.

I added a screenshot of the. PDF.

Export to .jpg works very well.

Thanks in advance!

  • Some fonts appearing only on Mac

    I've produced an e-book on typography for the cards. It was produced on a computer and converted to PDF using PowerPoint 2007 Save As PDF. My clients who are on the PC did not have difficulties to display all fonts listed in the e-book, exactly as it should. However, two of my clients Mac (maybe more, I don't know) have black boxes appear where letters should be. This only happens for some fonts. For example, ratings (OpenType) does not appear, but is Gentium (OpenType). The fonts are embedded in the file. Any ideas? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

    It may even be that fonts are appearing in normal mode (clients have Acrobat Pro, I think), but not when she prints or is in preview or QuickLook. It's a mystery to me.

    Are you sure that all fonts are embedded? Maybe it's the question open fonts if they are integrated.

  • Problem with some fonts of symbols after the installation of the Sierra

    Hello

    I have recently upgraded the OS on my iMac late 2012 for Sierra, since doing so, I noticed a problem with several fonts.

    All symbolic symbols Apple to Wingdings fonts not correctly displayed in the font book. Apple symbols looks like a standard wheelbase of san, and other symbolic fonts just show as question marks '?' where the images should be.

    In text editing, that I can't even see the symbolic fonts like Zapf Dingbats and Wingdings in the selector. However, they all work well in Adobe Illustrator (CS5) and Microsoft Word 2011. Apple symbols still looks like a standard font.

    I already tried the following:

    1. check the fonts in font book

    2 fix the duplicates in the font book

    3. using the "Restore Standard fonts" option in the font book

    4 deleting a file in the folder Preferences plist Fonts

    5 deleted the cache of police and the database

    I'm out of ideas. Has anyone else had the same problem found a fix?

    Kind regards

    Greville

    I'm just to add that I used the recovery partition to do a clean install of Sierra on a hard drive external and then booted into it to see if it had the same problem.

    And he does. Wingdings and other photo fonts appear as '?' in boxes where the letters must be in the font book.

    So this seems like a problem with the way Sierra displays these fonts, not with the font files themselves.

  • Lo-res images appear in the exported PDF from Indesign files - anyone else having this problem?

    I used Indesign for years without this problem...

    But I noticed recently that many of these images (PSD, TIFF, or JPEG) that I placed in Indesign files are exported as pixelated, versions low resolution when I export for printing (PDF/X-1).

    I tried different settings, but in each case, the image (which appears thin and sharp as seen in Indesign) came out like a pixelated mess blurred.

    This seems to have started happening in the past months.

    Vector graphics are fine.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Or someone at - it a solution?

    Also use some PDF parameters where resolution is not sous-echantillonnees at all.

    Turn off downsampling.

    And I would like to test, when you export to PDF/X-4 would make to the resolution of the images.

    Just to know, if something is fundamentally wrong with your PDF export feature perhaps.

  • Strange accident after export PDF...

    I have a script that follows at the end:

    pathName var = "~ / Desktop/salesChartEMC.pdf";

    var saveName = new file (path);

    saveOpts = new PDFSaveOptions();

    saveOpts.compatibility = PDFCompatibility.ACROBAT5;

    saveOpts.generateThumbnails = true;

    saveOpts.preserveEditability = true;

    templateFile.saveAs (saveName, saveOpts);

    templateFile.close (SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);

    Alert ('Registered successfully as PDF' + path);

    The script hangs on the line of templateFile.close (...).  If I comment out this line, the script works without crashing and I can switch between open documents and I work as normally.  However, as soon as I manually close the PDF file that is always open, Illustrator crashes again.  Has anyone meet this behavior before?

    Fixed.  This had to do with a code earlier I NTHE script.  I had moved some objects to a document in the document I have export.  Instead of moving, I them duplicated in the new document (with new variable names) and then removed the old one.  This fixed the problem of crash for some reason any.

  • Why my fonts go bad to export PDF from Bridge?

    I create a PDF file in Bridge CS6 in a series of. PSD pages, I created in Photoshop CS6 to print as a book of MagCloud (magcloud.com) and got the guy to be crisp and clear, but instead, it's a bit shit.

    Shouldn't the type of format PDF as vector and rendered in Nice fine lines?

    What Miss me?

    Thanks for any help.

    I create a PDF file in Bridge CS6 in a series of. PSD pages, I created in Photoshop CS6 to print as a book of MagCloud (magcloud.com) and got the guy to be crisp and clear, but instead, it's a bit shit.

    Bridge creates only a PDF version of the preview in Bridge and it works to create a Board-contact.

    If you save the files in PS in PDF format, you can create a PDF using Acrobat Pro or other PDF viewers multipage document. The simple application overview on a Mac has the ability to do drag the pages in a document and change the order. Don't know if Acrobat Reader can also do.

    And if you use the text on the images in the PDF fonts must also be included and the color profile should also be examined.

    Also (hopefully, you don't mind me saying) it's a little unusual to have photo books printed using PDF, it takes much more care and knowledge for a good result then used to print services who settle for jpeg files.

  • Why are some fonts appear in Japanese in Illustrator CS6

    In Illustrator CS5, I would use a font called Kozuka Mincho Pro/EL.  Selector of fonts in Illustrator would show the police with the English name.  I'm on a Mac 10.7.4 and font book shows me the police with the English name as well.  After the upgrade to CS6, the name of the font in Illustrator is displayed in Japanese.  Unfortunately, I don't read Japanese.  Is it possible to fix this on my end, or is there a bug in Illustrator CS6?

    Hi D Holcomb

    If you acess Illustrator > Preferences > Type section West a field, you can activate called the names of fonts in English.

    If you enable this option... fonts Kozuka continue to be shown in Japanese?

    Best regards

  • InDesign export pdf fonts custom ansi encoding

    After exporting an Indesign document to PDF, I wondered why some fonts appear twice in the same with the encodings of different fonts.

    As an example, the TnTFormBSK-light police appears once as ansi coding font and a second time as police custom coding.

    The export is made on a Macintosh with Indesign version 5.04.

    UsedFonts.png

    Also, when you perform a check of preflight with Heidelberg Prinect tools, you receive a warning that the police use the same font UID.

    FontsSameUID.png

    When you use a chip, after export you always get the same police twice with the encodings of different fonts, ansi and identity-H.

    It is a known issue: http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=329611 & sliceId = 1

    Identity H.png

    I have not found any reason on why Indesign uses the same font with encoding "ansi" and "Custom" and the same UID!

    Can someone explain these?

    Hello

    First, the ANSI encoding can handle that certain characters. If the police has characters that are beyond this encoding and the glyphs for these characters are embedded in the PDF file (either because you have used these characters, because the entire police was incorporated for a reason any), then InDesign it will integrate as two fonts, one with the ANSI encoding (for characters that can be covered in this way) and one with a custom encoding. Sometimes you'll see resulting from this kind of thing so CID-keyed fonts.

    If the PDF export is dividing into two police, it must remove the UniqueID of at least one of these. Incorporation of two separate policies with the same UniqueID looks like a bug to me. I suggest you inform that Adobe, here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Undesirable Anti-aliasing after export to PDF!

    Dear community,

    First of all, let me tell you, I'm relatively new to indesign.

    It's really driving me crazy: my boss gave me the task of renewing our business cards (no new provision, just different names and addresses). So I got the indesign file my predecessor did and changed the names and contact details. The indesign file contains three sides back to three different people, each with their own QR code.

    I made three new QR codes, removed the 'old' and brought the new po those (codes were initially PNG, I put them in Photoshop and exported in the form of PSD because I heard, I should use PSD files in ID instead of PNG or JPEG).

    When exporting to PDF, two of these QR codes are works fine, the third has the following problem: on the edges of the code, light gray thin lines appear, to my untrained eye, these look just as anti-aliasing. These only appear in the exported PDF file, not in Indesign itself and that in one of the three QR-codes, even if I created and imported them all the same way.

    I probably should mention, I did 50% transparent codes. I already did a lot of research about this issue and has said that it is a bug that has been fixed in ID CC 2014, so I updated my ID for this version, imported the corrupt PSD, still the same problem.

    What I did wrong with this PSD file in particular? Could there be a button or something, when I have the psd selected in the iD, which activates / deactivates AA on and off that particular file?

    I've added two pictures. 1 is one of those who do not all problems, the second is one that has some anti-aliasing, unwanted (or whatever it is). I just did the screenshots in Acrobat, because this forum won't let me download the PDF files. As I said, they both come from the same ID, exported file the same way.

    Thanks in advance for your kind help.

    Right.pngWrong.png

    The problem was caused by downsampling. The resolution is higher and you down tasted with the wrong method, also, you used grayscale or CMYK or RGB image, in this case a 1 bit image would be the choice. But the best is to use the feature ID QR.

  • Export PDF without "show after export?

    Hello

    I guess I use Batch convert from Peter Kahrel- script for InD export as PDF presets. (Im unable to check, because im behind a firewall) and I do not have my ipad autour.

    As I couldn't save the 'Show after Export PDF' in my "Preset" (his gray out), a large amount of PDF opens in acrobat when exporting.

    How can I avoid this?

    Im not really to understand the syntax of JS, but I guess I should add a parameter to this line:

    doc.exportFile (ExportFormat.pdfType, file, false, selectedPdfPreset);

    Can someone help me?

    Bildschirmfoto 2013-09-12 um 08.45.17.png

    Bildschirmfoto 2013-09-12 um 08.41.22.png

    Correct syntax:

    app.pdfExportPreferences.viewPDF = false;

    Hope that helps.

  • Export Pdf from Incopy - "no bookmarks".

    Hi Experts,

    I tried export Incopy assignment and after export PDF, bookmarks are missing. I found that there is no option to 'include bookmarks"then export as Indesign Options when exporting. I want to export PDFS with bookmarks of Incopy.

    Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you

    Kind regards

    K.Velprakash.

    Not in native mode, but you might want to check this: http://www.kerntiff.co.uk/products-4-indesign/pdfstickies

  • Some policies appear in the PDF files after "Print" to PDF, but not after "save under" PDF

    FM9, Kozuka fonts and one of my custom symbols fonts show in a file PDF produced with "Print" and a PDF printer, but not when I do "save in" and select "Save as:" PDF. Kozuka characters out as boxes, and custom symbols are absent; Although if I highlight the place to be in the PDF, the font name shows. I use Acrobat 7 Pro.

    I tried to change the Asian fonts in the police combined with the "Pr6N" Kozuka provided with FM9 versions, but that did not work.

    I also tried to copy the fonts to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker9\fminit\fonts\adobe" and various other places, and of course, they are in the folder Fonts of Windows, nothing helps. My other custom symbols fonts work very well, and they are only in the Fonts to Windows folder.

    These fonts worked well in FM8. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Tami

    Hello Tami,

    try saving the PDF file once again, but this time - in the dialog box options PDF - select the check box 'convert CMYK to RGB colours. Fonts now appear correctly? If so, it's just another bug of the famous engine FM CMYK. When you convert the colors to RGB, you get the same result as when printing to PDF.

  • Export to FLO: fix some fonts, other missing fonts

    Hello

    I'm pretty well a beginner to export an epub FLO, so hopefully there is a simple answer to this.

    My problem is that when I export my publication seems fine in InDesign, very well in PDF format, but when exporting an ePub FLO some fonts seems to disappear completely get replaced by what looks like a Times Roman.

    I would be very grateful if someone has a tip how I can fix this!

    Thanks in advance.

    Marius

    When you export to Reflowable ePub is a dialog box called "EPUB - recomposable Layout Options of Export", on the CSS tab, there is an option to check/uncheck the box include embeddable fonts.

    Try again with some different fonts and see what happens.

    Try the ePub on a device, the application or the maybe Readium

    Hi Sarah!

    I solved it! I had to use the original URL shorter links to create

    functional hyperlinks or try to short the links using Google URL Shortener.

    I don't know why it worked by doing this, but he did!
