Some keys on the keyboard for Satellite A200 do not react

Hello to you all.

Recently, I had serious problems with a few keys. They do not react when I press on them. Oddly, enough it happened one day where everything worked perfectly. Currently a non-flexible solution (: @) is a mix of keyboard and Vista on-screen keyboard. I have spilled something on my laptop that I take great care of it. Keys not working do not are:

K k
U u
I have I

Arrow pointing down

I also remember the day, this problem occurred (and since then, every day when the laptop boots) in startup screen logo is continuous-interminnent beeps. Alsowhen Office appears and then press 'Start' (Windows logo) I see constantly writing in the prompt search (under "all programs") and that if I press the right arrow it wll not stop. Any ideas? I guess from a driver issue... I hope someone help...

P.S.:strangely (with the exception of added value package) I can't update my Toshiba laptop (they all fail with an error). First, I do the update of the BIOS?

Hi Herc,

The description of your problem doesn't quite sound as if your keyboard has developed a fault, particularly in failing the grouping of keys held. If you have access to a USB port on the keyboard I sugest you try and see if you get the same problem.

If your A200 is still covered by warranty, then I suggest that return you it to a repairer approved for repair. If your warranty has expired so fortunately replacement keyboards are not only expemsuve and are fairly easy to replace, just try to Google for a suitable provider.

I don't think that your problem is related to software or drivers

Kind regards

  • Some keys on the keyboard for Satellite A500-025 are strange

    My Toshiba Satellite A500-025 has a keyboard with strange symbols on it. The back key on the right side of the keyboard is also a vertical rectangular key with 2 keys between the key containing the semicolon and the return key which is too far.

    On other Toshiba keyboards I've seen in stores, the return key is a horizontal rectangular key with that one key between the semicolon and the return key. Anyone know why I have this strange configuration on my keyboard?

    Thank you

    To be honest I don't know on which keys you mean exactly, but I think you should consult your dealer and ask what it can be.
    If you want to discuss about it here please make the photo of your keyboard and mark them with red circle, what do you mean exactly.

    I don't know what other Toshiba keyboards you mean but fact is that the Satellite A500 is Toshiba the first laptop with screen 16 delivered with larger keyboard, including the numeric keypad.

  • slide show by using the keys on the keyboard for nav in flash professional CS5 with animated images

    recently, I discovered how to create a slideshow using the keys on the keyboard for the market front and rear in flash professional CS5 thanks entirely to kglad of this forum. I used still images for each slide, since, then with one of the slides, I added a slight undulation of water in one of the images in a separate document. is it possible to include this file in my slideshow now?

    original questions and answers using still pictures below

    I'm a graphic designer who has a presentation of my portfolio. I'm not too experienced in flash and do not use it much, but he needs to do this on the thing. I can do a fade in and out slide show, but I want to create a slide show where the screen remains out of the blade and does ' t until what I press the next or previous button. I don't want these keys on the screen, I want to be able to press a key on the keyboard as F1. is this possible and do you know in adobe flash Professional (or other adobe products) where I could get resources/tutorials to do. Any help so what would never be great.

    response

    create tweens to fade for each slide.  You'll probably want to fade out the image on image 1 (from frames 1 to 11).  Bland-in the image of frame 11 frame 1 to 11.  fade the image frame 11 11 to 21 etc.

    You can then use:

    var image: int = 1;

    var dir:uint;

    stage.addEventListener (KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, downF);

    function downF(e:KeyboardEvent):void {}

    {if(e.keycode==Keyboard.Left)}

    dir = Keyboard.LEFT

    Frame = Math.Max (Frame-10, 1);

    this.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    } else {if(e.keyCode==Keyboard.RIGHT)

    dir = Keyboard.RIGHT;

    Frame = Math.min (this.totalFrames, Frame + 10);

    this.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    }

    }

    function nextF(e:Event):void {}

    {if(dir==Keyboard.Left)}

    prevFrame();

    } else {}

    nextFrame();

    }

    {if(this.currentFrame==Frame)}

    this.removeEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    }

    }

    you have the fla that created the swf file?

    If so, just copy images from this fla and paste into a new movieclip in your fla slideshow.  Add this movieclip to your timeline.

  • Some keys no longer work on Satellite A200-196 after Windows 7 update

    Hi all, I've just upgraded computer laptop of my partner (a Toshiba Satellite A200-196) to Windows 7 after you initially install Windows XP on it (it came with Vista).

    After the XP update, I noticed that some keys were not working. I don't remember the process that I used to solve the problem, but the difficulty that I did, and they were all soon works perfectly. So this is a software problem and not material. I think he might have something to do with the FN key - but I can't be sure.

    Now, I just upgraded the same machine and I have exactly the same problem. Keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

    Can anyone help please? I tried to reinstall Win7 and the problem is still there.

    Thank you very much

    Andy

    > The keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

    These keys have nothing to do with the missing software.
    Indeed, the function key (FN key) needs a Toshiba utility particular installation / software to make it work, but the keys Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L are common keys on the keyboard that don t need no special software.

    That's why I think that the problem is hardware related: simple keyboard malfunction.
    I guess that all of these keys work correctly if you sign in and use the external USB keyboard.

    the best way to do what you want (but not the most flexible/changeable) would be to add each slide a key frame to its own layer.  It is a design decision, but start with keyframes at 1, 11, 21 etc.

    create tweens to fade for each slide.  You'll probably want to fade out the image on image 1 (from frames 1 to 11).  Bland-in the image of frame 11 frame 1 to 11.  fade the image frame 11 11 to 21 etc.

    this.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    } else {if(e.keyCode==Keyboard.RIGHT)

    dir = Keyboard.RIGHT;

    Frame = Math.min (this.totalFrames, Frame + 10);

    this.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    }

    }

    function nextF(e:Event):void {}

    {if(dir==Keyboard.Left)}

    prevFrame();

    } else {}

    nextFrame();

    {if(this.currentFrame==Frame)}

    this.removeEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, nextF);

    }

  • Satellite A500 - some keys on the keyboard do not work

    Have lost the use of apparently random keys,

    So do not work are - 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 0,-, =, a, enter, left SHIFT, b, n

    I use the on-screen keyboard. Unit 6 months.

    Could something be turned on/off? Virus? or the use of the guarantee?

    Any ideas appreciated
    Jay

    Hello

    Well, it can happen that some keys stop working after several months and you can't do anything.

    You must contact the authorized service provider for a new keyboard because some individual keys can be exchanged, only the entire keyboard.
    Your laptop is only 6 months old, and then the repair is covered under warranty. :)

    On the Toshiba page, you can find a list of ASP.

  • Satellite X 200-how clean some keys on the keyboard

    Hello.

    I'm looking to remove a portion of each of the keys on my keyboard and clean.
    Some keys are starting to feel 'sticky', and I don't want to be cleaning them up and so on.

    So, I'm having issues actually remove the individual keys. Like a laptop keyboard, I'm doubting you can just 'pop' out the keys with a needle or similar object. So, how do I remove them?

    Quick Edit: as the title suggests, it's the Toshiba X 200.

    Hello

    You mean you want to delete only the caps key?
    Yes it is possible and the caps are glued on the keyboard!

    So you can remove it carefully using a thin object.
    You can out simple plugs with care.

    I did very often to clean the space under the caps of buttons!

    Hello

    I don't think that a single Win 8.1 update would affect single keyboard buttons.
    It doesn't make any since to me
    That's why I m not quite sure if it s really a software problem.

    You have an external USB keyboard? You can test it in your laptop?
    The fact is that if this USB keyboard would work properly, software is not the problem but the internal keyboard could be the troublemaker.

    I think you should test this before you try to reinstall the system
