Some MP3 files have no sound in Movie Maker

I bought and downloaded 5 files MP3 from Amazon. I have no problem with their import into Movie Maker but only two of the five sound files. Whats up with the other three?

Gary

Hi Gary,.

Try to restore the default settings for Windows Movie maker. This will restore the list and the settings for the filters and reset them to the last well-known setting

a. click Tools and then click Options.

b. click on the Compatibility tab.

c. do one of the following:

·         To turn off a filter, clear the check box next to the name of the video filter.

·         To activate a filter, select the check box next to the name of the video filter.

·         To restore the default list, click on restore all default values.

You can set default 'write' in the Tools menu of MP3Tag. Then just re - save these files with the new settings and see if they work. Most prefer to delete the files on the drive, edit the tags of the files on the computer, and then transfer the edited files back to the player.

  • Some MP3 files are not recognized by Fuze

I have a 4 GB Fuze v1. I got this as a Christmas present and want to use it to listen to Audio and video podcasts. I updated the Firmware from V01.01.22A. My problem with him that some MP3 files will not be recognized. MP3 files are on the card of 2 GB external so I, MPT/MSC mode does not matter. For example, "NPR: CarTalk Podcast" in format mp3 will not play but "The Index Investing Show" podcast also in mp3 format will play very well. I first noticed it with downloaded mp3 files iTunes, I do not think it is an iTunes related issue because the same podcast downloaded directly from the NPR site will also fail. No idea what is the problem? Here is the link to the download of the podcast (use the button download MP3/4): http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_detail.php?siteId=9911203

I solved the problem first I used Any Audio Converter to convert MP3 to MP3 with the same audio features. The file is converted to the same sheet worked! I noticed converted file was not any ID3 tag information in the original file. After playing a bit with MP3Tag software and tags removal began, I found that the offending tag has been KIND on the value of 'Podcast '. Fuze does not recognize "Podcast" in the field of the kind so he simply ignored, rather than list it under "unknown". In my view, that it is a bug. Sansa must list the MP3 files under Tote 'Unknown' when 'Genre' tag is present, but the value does not match any of the existing tags.

    =========================================
Apple's QuickTime .mov files are not compatible with Movie Maker.

The following freeware can be used to convert the .mov
file in a more convenient format:

Pazera Free MOV to AVI Converter

(click on the blue Download button not the Red)

After you download... Open the program...
    (no installation required)

Drag and drop one or several .mov files...

    Choose an output directory...

Select... WMV AVI - Video Codec - version 1 (WMP 7)...

Convert... (the button in the top tool bar)

When the file is converted, you can change it in Windows
Movie Maker. Just open Movie Maker and go... File /.
Import into Collections and access your converted file.

  • Why are there no sound on some of my downloaded on Windows Live Movie Maker avi files?

Using Windows Live Movie Maker for the first time (already used Windows Movie Maker) and have added a number of clips from my computer, all the files AVI, taken on the same camcorder. When I go to change about half have sound and the other half have no sound. Volume on my computer and WLMM is high for all the clips but makes no difference. Have tried to remove one of the clips, no sound and add it back, but makes no difference. All clips will play direct using media files Media Player, but those with no sound have also no sound if I open it with Windows Media Player.

    Really frustrating!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your reply.

I've updated everything is available in Windows Update - although there is nothing specific to sound. It made no difference.

I also checked HP for updates - but none was necessary.

After doing some googling more, I downloaded the K-lite codec pack which fortunately solved the problem in Windows Media Player. Although he did not no difference for WLMM - so now posted a request in this forum - fingers crossed!

    Thanks again

  • Premiere Pro 7.0 - problems with some mp3 files

Well, I'm back with a new question. Because I need sound effects for my film, I use sounddogs.com and I get sound effects as MP3 files. First can manage very well, but from time to time I'll get a file first refuses to play, and instead of it gives me no sound at all. Other files in this site work very well, so I have no idea what could be the problem. Any ideas? You guys saved my movie before, I have no doubt that you can do it again. Thanks for any help.

MP3 files are often problematic. I always convert everything except the tiny SFX (like yours) to 48 KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV to Audition. The great little free-audio editor, Audacity, it will also. Just drag the file in Audacity (or open) and Save_As. fact!

Most of the issues seems to be with some of the "tricks" that can be in an MP3 player, such as the art of the album.

Now I have also some SoundDogs SFX, but have never had a problem with one of the time. However, the conversion is almost instantaneous and worked 100% for me.

    Good luck

    Hunt

PS - Note that conversion to WAV format do NOT recover the fidelity lost with MP3 compression.

  • MP3 files have changed. IDX on external hard drive and can not open

    Original title:. IDX FILES

My HD has all my music files.  Somehow, the files have changed MP3 for. IDX I can't open an any of them.  Microsoft does not support.  I want back my music files.  How can I do this?  Help please!  I am computer illiterate.  Thank you! Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hi Cidnee.Elise,

    1. don't you get an error message when tried to open the. IDX file?
    2. don't you confirm if the size of each file is correct or valid?
    3. you have any Microsoft Media Player is not installed on the computer?

Windows Media Player does not support this file type. If you have installed any player media Microsoft not on the computer, then use it to launch the. IDX file type and check if he plays well.

We recommend that you change the default program that Windows XP uses to open this type of file.

  • Cannot change the properties of some mp3 files.

I right click on a file and go to properties, then detalis everything is empty beside the property tab and I can't enter anything in value, and read-only is unchecked.

Are you sure these are MP3 files and not another type, such as WAV? Please verify this by checking the file type in the file properties- general tab.

Have you tried to reboot the PC? If you start Windows in clean boot mode, can change you the fields then?

Also, please check if you can still edit the tags of the files with an editor of tags like Mp3tag owners.

  • Fake MP3 files have been created after the HDV capture

    Hello

Capture from Canon XH - A1 works very well.

Only the created files have the extension *. MP3

When you later change this extension to *.mpeg, it works correctly.

    Question:

How to capture in *.mpeg directly? And not only AK fake mp3?

    Thanks in advance

    PR (Netherlands)

I had the same problem with CS6.

I found that, after the capture in MP3 format just rename the m2t file extension and the file worked perfectly with audio and video. It's a pain... but it works.

  • MP3 won't load to windows movie maker

I downloaded some music (mp3) from the amazon clouds to my windows media player (windows xp).  Downloads and plays fine on the cloud and the media player.  However when I try to upload music to windows movie maker it says the file is not valid or is corrupted.  Standard entered mp3 music from Media Player is important in the movie maker without any problem.  Help, please!

    Hi LeahSunderlin,

This problem can occur if your computer does not have the good coder/decoder (codec) installed to play the multimedia file in Windows Movie Maker.

  • Published images black & lost sound in Movie Maker

After about a 12-minute montage of video clips & digital stills, executives will start to Corrèze jumpy & then suddenly turn black. If I turn off the computer and reopen the filmmaker and then start the editing process later in the film, then the previous bad images are fine, but at a later time in the edited film different frames becomes black and exclamation warning signs appear on a large number of executives. Same as before but different images.

To try to solve the problem, I deleted the edited clips and video film. Then downloaded the film cameras a second time, attempted to change again and the same problem occurs.

I run scans on the computer and it tells me that there are no threats. I contacted HP the manufacturer of the computer HP, which is 18 months old. No one knows what is the problem. A suggestion was that the camera could have a virus. Is this possible?

I contacted Microsoft. After many conversations with different advisors who could not resolve the problem, the final counselor says that Movie Maker is downloadable for free from the HP Windows 7 computer, they service no problems with Movie Maker. Movie Maker was unavailable in Windows XP or Vista, so they have a helpline if you use XP or Vista. Yes, it's frustrating!

First... Yes... Movie Maker is free under XP and Vista...

In any case... If you provide some information that you may receive a solution.

What version of Vista are you running?

    How much RAM?

What percentage of free space on your hard drive?

Your system fully updated from MS Update and regularly maintained?
    (Cleaning disc, ErrorChecking, Defrag?)

Using Vista Movie Maker 6 or Windows Live Movie Maker?

What are your source (photos, video clips, audio clips) file formats?

You mention cameras (plural)... What are the brand names and model?

Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but most
    reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

  • video player has sound on movie maker, but not on the media player, why?

Just got some video files that have been created using the DV 48 kHz PCM codec by a third party for audio.  In Windows Movie Maker I can see and and here the audio.  Media Player will not open the file.  Pinnacle will allow me to have the video but not the audio.  All of the suggestions.

    Hello
    1. What is the file extension for the video files you are trying to play in Windows Media Player?
    2. the other videos and music properly in Windows Media Player?
You may need to install codecs appropriate to read the types of specific files in question. You can check with the party who created videos to find out what codecs may be required and where you could get those.
