Something missing in network connections

Hello!  Hope one of you can help me with a problem, I am experiancing.  I've implemented the following:

HP Pavilion DV7-3111e

Windows 7 64 bit

Product WC159EA

In the course of the last few days, I have experianced loss of internet connection and this morning that it has decreased after use of a few minutes.  The icon in my toolbar now shows something completely different to the usual wireless meter strengh (a square box with what looks like a plug to the left of it and a red X).  I looked around the various places on my PC for an answer, and the best I can find is in the tab network connections in Control Panel.  I can see in there the following:

BluetoothConnection

Wireless Broadcom 43225 802.b/g/n (disabled) network connection

I don't know it is supposed to be another symbol in network connections, a 3rd device.  I also clicked on the Broadcom device and computer enabled, but it remains disabled.

I tried Windows help, downloaded and reinstalled the drivers and used the system restore, but none have so far permit.

I hope someone can find something wrong with the above.  As I said, I'm sure I'm missing something in my network connections, a 3rd device (?) box.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Best regards

Hi Erico,

I don't really know what to say.  I was searching around the internet for solutions more this afternoon (someone has to start a unique knowledge base with CORRECT solutions, so many Web sites with so many "solutions" for the same problem, ha!) and I noticed a comment about Zonealarm and its effect on wireless adapters after that that they have been brought so I've completely remove Zonealarm, rebooted, and guess what?  A new icon has appeared in network connections, "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter", plus two children happy now and an adapter wireless who has reappeared and work!   I don't really know what to say apart from thank you for your time and effort Sir.

Best regards from the Ireland!

    Hello

Well, at this point, you should make an executive decision.

If you think that someone will take just guilt because it's comfortable, it is not going to happen.

If a new card that is known to work does not work, then you can try to re - install Windows.

One of the differences between computer enthusiasts and regular users is the availability of the material. I have a set of wireless router, network cards, etc. that are known to be good.

The components are used for the sole purpose of trying them temporarily on the troubled computers to rule out hardware problems.

  • Wireless networks icon disappeared in network connections

I ran a software malware recommended by my administrator (Verizon) internet agent after a long period of trouble connecting to the wireless router. After telling it to remove the files mentioned, I'll be back to see the wireless icon is missing under network connections in the Control Panel. No idea what happened to her. Now, I can not access the router somehow. What can I return this icon of wireless networks. ?

I do not think that you do not forget the files that you have deleted or 'malware software' you used?

I would like to start by uninstalling and reinstalling your wireless adapter.

If you have an external wifi adapter, go to the manufacturer Web site and download the latest driver for it.

If you have an internal wifi adaptor (probably in laptops), go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your wireless card.  Most computer manufacturers provide a link for the correct driver after you identify the specific model of your computer (in the case of Dell, use the "Service Tag").

Save the driver a place that you will be able to find (on a USB flash drive if you have used another computer)

Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
Expand the "Network adapters" category by clicking on the +.
Right-click on the entry of your wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
OK, go out of your way and restart.

If the Add New Hardware Wizard does not open when Windows reboots and detects the device, go back to Device Manager, right click on the entry of the wifi adapter and select Update driver
On the Hardware Update Wizard screen, don't let it connect to Windows Update, but select "Install from a list or specific location."
Click 'Search for the best driver' and also 'include this location '.  Click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded driver (unpacked already, if you downloaded in compressed form).  Make sure you select the subfolder WinXP (or a similar name).
Click next and the adapter must install.

Assuming that the above results in an icon for your adapter in network connections wireless, there is more to do.

Right click on the network connections icon, then select Properties.

Make sure that shows the 'General tab '.
In the box under "this connection uses the following items", you should have 4 entries:
    Microsoft Networks client {needed}
    {Required} (TCP/IP) Internet Protocol
    Sharing files and printers for Microsoft Networks {necessary if you want to be able to share files and printers}
{Optional, but usually present} QoS Packet Scheduler

If these elements are not in the list, make sure, using the install and following dialogs.

In the wireless network properties dialog boxes, click the tab 'wireless networks '.
Make sure the box to "use Windows to configure my wireless" is checked unless you have the utility of the manufacturer do this work.
    OK your way out

    Hi Maeleatha

    1. is the computer connected to a network server or a domain?
    2. have you verified that the network card works correctly?

You can follow the steps below to reinstall the network driver in the Device Manager and check-
You can check if you have any exclamation point beside the devices listed. If you have, then there is problem with the card is installed.

    a. click Startand then click Control Panel.
    b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.

    Note
if control panel is in Classic view, double-click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    c. in the NIC, expand adapter, right click on the devices listed and then click Uninstall.
    d. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click on OK.
    e. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically. Check after this procedure if you are able to get access to the network.

If you get all the drivers related errors, you can check if you have the latest drivers updated, installed for the network card. See the help link - below

I can connect to other wireless networks, as in an Internet café or a similar place. He always seems to have the information network somewhere, I can't find it.

    A few ideas:

    • Make sure that your wireless router is enabled and functional.
    • If your computer has a switch to turn the wireless on the case, be sure that it is turned on.
    • Make sure that the wireless network connection is enabled.
    • In "Manage wireless networks", click 'Add' and create a new profile.

My computer semi regularly acted by the loss of my internet on a whim. Basically, it can detect WIFI, no problem, shows the strongest signal for her also. just tells me that it cannot connect to WIFI when I try (even if he can ask me the password and can tell if I use one bad)

    I can't reprocude the question

No significant changes to my computer because the issues started happening.

    Simple steps:

-Recovery (before the first event) system does not alter

-Router and modem are not the issue

-Could you find not updated driver anywhere (even though this does not mean that they do not exist, but having only no internet with the pc makes it particularly tricky - also HP does not provide the )

    -Power management wasn't the question

-J' tried forget network the many times this problem has occurred. He has not fixed it.

    Additional troubleshooting showed:

-Reset the Winsock Catalog did not resolve the question more than once (emplying he did the first time I did).

-Reset of TCP/IP, that does not solve the issue more far.

My WIRELESS card is a Broadcom 802.11n

Finally, the only thing that I can see (although I can easily miss something obvious) is my reinstallation of an old printer inkjet EPSON Workforce 545, which I am connected to my WIFI and my PC via USB (why I used wifi since I got cable?...) I do not know) a few days later, people who use the same network reported the act more as usual but I have not noticed anything on my end.

-J' have been disconnected from the network to the printer and stopped using it.

Have you tried to update the driver for the Ethernet program in Device Manager? There is a way to update the driver without looking for a online. If you click Start, right click computer / my computer and go to properties. Left click and you will see the Device Manager on this page. Left click and it will display all the programs running on your system. On the list you will see the network card. This is the connector of your motherboard Ethernet. If the driver is damaged, it can cause problems. If a right click on the map once you open the file that is the sign +. Right on the name of the map for example.

Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller and driver update. Do not click automatically download driver I will choose on the next page as well. Which will bring you to a menu of the drivers already in your machine. Choose the name of the Ethernet connector on the list and load the driver. Restart the device and see if it helps. The other option is to uninstall instead to replace the driver, then windows will get the driver for you on reboot. Trying to help, but it is difficult without actually seeing what is happening. If I could see what you look at, this would help a lot. There are so many veriables as to what is happening not that it is hard to say. It is a program that works very well for an uninstall program of programs that do not want to be uninstalled. It also has an autorun Manager in the tool file which will tell you how much and what programs start at startup = you only need windows to start. Not all of the addons that want to run = size/slow/hard on the system. Be sure to follow the instructions EXACTLY if you use the uninstaller. You can see all programs in your program files if you want to install revo. I have used this program for several years and works well. When / if you download the decline of the program all the third party programs. It's free because of the advertising, but you don't need more space.

  • Network connections for the virtual machine

I have recently (1 year) past my office from a Windows computer to an iMac under 10.5 and VMware Fusion. My virtual machine is a member of our corporate domain.

I can log on to the domain, and after making only two entries in my hosts, outlook, mapped file banks, etc. excellent work! However, here's my question...

We use VNC widely remotely manage to help control our machines 100 + on our network. Our network is a network of class 10.25.1.XXX, and yet the VM is given an address 192.XXX.XXX.XXX in NAT mode.

If I want to leave the running virtual machine and connect from work, I can't do my type in the 192.XXX.XXX.XXX as address/subnet is not in our routing tables.

I'm not a network administrator, just the humble CEO of my company. Am I missing something?

    Thank you...

    Mr. bubbles

I can't give advice on how get VNC running through a NAT configuration, but another option would be to give your virtual machine a network connected by a bridge instead of NAT configuration.  Then your VM would have its own IP on your network of 10.25.1.x.
