• Netflix has stopped working on sony bdp-s390

  I was usin netflix on my Sony BDP-S390 fine for the last six months.

  And now all of a sudden it stopped working. Yesterday. I tried to reset the player, clear the netfilx app, update the firmware. And nothing seems to work. I even found a message on this forum for to change you ip address on the player for a higher last number. (Still wondering what this could do), but that no longer works.

  So, what can I do? Any ideas? Other applications of the internet on the player work fine except netflix.

• My Sony BDP-BX650

  My new Sony BDP-BX650 has trouble streaming video from Netflix. Sometimes, it is very well and other times it stops and starts every few seconds. In addition, the appliance crashes about once a week. When this happens I have to disconnect/reconnect power cord to get it going again. We did not have these problems with our old Sony BDP-S185.

  I put the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. This only helped a bit streaming. The new player doesn't buffer content at all. Our former player did.

  Oddly, turning off the quick start feature seems to have cured my problem continuously. I suspect that there is a problem with the Netflix app that shows only after that the app works for some time. Starting cold clears the issue for hours. I hope it helps someone else.

• SONY BDP S5100 - time out - USA - connection began to arrive a week or two

  I have the Sony BDP-S5100 for more than a year or two.

  It allows to work very well with Youtube, Netflix & Amazon instant - BUT, BUT, but for the last week or so it has been very bad. It takes forever to get in YouTube and Amazon & it falls dead giving connection message has expired... Server request too long or cannot validate or something like that. Sometimes even he says does not correctly set the network up & asked me to set up the network. I go ahead and it says network is fine!

  I try again and end up in the trash even...

  I use a wired connection & I have 50 Mbps connection. Every thing flies on wi fi but s5100 will not work.

  From time to time, it works very well also...

• Audio settings on Sony BDP-S5100

  I just bought this Sony BDP-S5100 and I can't seem to get the audio settings to preform properly. OK, I have 3 blu - ray discs. #1 plays ok, #2, no noise and #3 play, but a narrator with the voice actors?

  I changed the setting auto for PCM and I got to have the sound of disc 2, but #3 still has the same problem?

  Who am I screwing up... or is it maybe the drive itself?

  I have a HDMI to my TV and my sound bar digital cable and ethernet to netflix. They work very well.

  Thank you. Go ahead with your comments, the PCM is the conventional method for audio conversion analog to digital audio. Audio PCM engraved on the disc is a digital camera 2 channels, a stereo audio track and together your Blu - ray to PCM player's outputs signals PCM from the DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL) / HDMI OUT jack in your output such as your Soundbar devices and your TV.

  Auto-play is a design feature which can not be turn off. What you can do is to press stop or pause button to tell the BDP-S185 does not read the disc until you are ready to play the inserted disc.

  OK, I think I knew my own solution. I got the stop to play and release buttons down for about 10-15 seconds... bam! now it's working.

  How can I get my LG TV to recognize my drive blu - ray Sony BDP-S5100, connected by a hdmi cable high speed.  Television can see my fine decoder, but cannot see the BDP-S5100, showing instead a "NO SIGNAL" message.

  I spent the HDMI cables, HDMI, and always the cable box ports is recognized but not Blu - ray player.

  Twice the Sony Blu - ray player has managed to get his screen on the TV for a few seconds and then back to 'NO SIGNAL'.

  Tried the STOP button - on the player! -for a little more than 10 seconds.  Nothing.  Everything off, then back up again.  No difference.  Because the Blu - ray player is not appear on the screen, I can't change any settings in this topic.

  Unfortunately, the keyboards wireless cannot be used with the player Blu - ray. However, you can connect to 101-key USB keyboard to drive decision-making and can use for manual text entry while browsing.

  If you are not interested in using the wired keyboard, there is an application called "Media Remote" that you can use from your Android smart phone or iPhone, iPad etc. It has the particularity of keyboard to enter letters, numbers and other characters on the TV screen.

  This Blu - ray player is the BIV (Internet Video base) base model and does not support the wireless Internet connection. I suggest that you use the Ethernet LAN cable to connect the player to your router/modem.

  I have 2 of these apparently now obsolete (bought 3/132) which simply ceased to connect to Netflix. The message says only: "unable to connect".

  I tried to unplug the power supply without success. Previously, they worked very well.

  I was also getting the problem of "a network error occurred" on my BDP-S590.

  I have read many solutions complicated this same question in this and other threads. And so I tried the very complicated (manually setting IP and DNS) proposed solutions without success.

  I went to http://esupport.sony.com and used the Chat feature. "Levy" was good enbough to do this VERY simple solution:

  1. turn off the Blu Ray player

  2. unplug the power cord of the player blu - ray of the socket.

  3 plug the power cord into the power outlet.

  4. turn on the blu - ray player.

  5. check if the problem is resolved. (It was for me).
