SONY NEX-VG30

What are the best settings to record the marriage ceremony using the NEX-VG30 candle light

If please, simulate the lighting situation and try these settings, you're more comfortable with them before the real test.

Use a lens with a wide aperture to let more light in (IE f1.4, F2)

Slow shutter speed 1/30 of a second (possible motion blur)

Low frame rate: 24 fps

Increase the ISO sensitivity, the more is more sensitive to the noise or grainy video.

  • urgent: Red discoloration on video NEX-VG30

Yesterday I turned on my camera sony nex vg30 and there is a horizontal red line of discoloration through the lcd screen. I closed the lcd screen and looked through the viewfinder, same thing. I restarted the camera, changed battery, changed the sd cards, tried lenses, nothing... all have this problem. I don't know what has caused this it seems that when you put a magnet near an old TV and it changes color. but the color is a horizontal bar perfect across the lower part of the 1/3 of the screen. I did not put the camera close to the magnets, speakers, nothing... It has not been subjected to abuse at all. It is also brand new. probably less than 60 hours on the subject. someone please let me know what could have caused this and how I can solve this problem, I have a movie shoot tomorrow and need to know if there is a quick fix or not. Much appreciated in advance to anyone who has information.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue that you are experiencing with the camcorder. We are not sure of what may have caused this, but I recommend that you try to initialize to its default settings. Please press the RESET button located to the left of the IRIS button using a pointed object. Then, try to check if the red line is always there.

If the problem persists, the service will be the best option. Please access our eService site for more information on sending your camera.

  • Why is my Nex Vg30 camera blurry when his photo and video mode on (goal no. join)

Why is my Nex Vg30 camera blurry when its video mode on mode and photo. There is no lens mounted and I put the settings to "shoot without aim" and his still fuzzy. Just got my camera in the mail today.

I have a lens on it until this last week. I have the lens Sel1855. I can zoom in with the lens ring and will get the clear picture but when I perform a zoom out or zoom in all the way the image is blurry and doesn't let me get out the clear picture zoom one where I'll ways half in the zoom on the lens.

The only way I can shoot and get a clear picture would be if I have the lens half of means until the Terminal 35 on the lens. I want to be able to get the full picture like when I do a big on mine, rather than by zooming in on the zoom button.

The problem I have is that when I shoot with the lens being always half ways out of the 35 marker, I always need to be a bit far from the talent or what I was filming and it causes fair gene to myself. Also audio are heard a little more than what it should because of the way I place myself because that the lens won't let me not get enough close due to the lens fades when I do neither turn the zoom ring.

Is that what the camera has something hidden, maybe I have to set up?

  • Can I use the supplied remote Commander RMT-835 with the 18-200 on NEX-VG30 powerzoom?

The NEX VG30 comes with the SALT-PZ18200, which has an electronic zoom that can be controlled by a lever on the lens and the camera. The camera also comes with the IR remote control RMT-835, which has a zoom button (which works on the other handycam to control the zoom). Now can I use the RMT-835 to zoom with the SALT-P18200 on the VG30 NEX? Can someone try that already has the VG30?

    Thank you

    Michael

I tested the SELP-18200 on NEX-VG30 zoom control, and the RMT-835 zoom buttons can control the motorized zoom.

By default, the remote control and the camera body zoom controls activate digital zoom. You must go on [MENU] - [camera/mic] - [Zoom lever] and select [Power Zoom] so that you can control the power via the remote control zoom and the camera body.

  • How do you use the Sony NEX 5R as a webcam for live streaming?

My computer does not recognize my camera as a source for Google Hangouts.

Digital cameras from Sony, including the Sony NEX - 5R, are not compatible for use as a Webcam. If you are interested in a camera that can live streaming, then the HD camera live Bloggie MHS-TS55 is a good option. You can check it out by clicking on the link below:

  • Sony NEX - 5N AVCHD files

Sony NEX - 5N is a great compact devices which has the ability to capture HD video in 1080/60 p. This makes for smooth movement. With the recent update to Final Cut Pro X and AMC 6, hoping that the two programs would be add support for AVCHD 60 p/50 p; seems, however, that he did not. Therefore, work with the video from the cameras filming sequences AVCHD 2.0 60 p (like the Sony NEX - 5N) brings a bit of a problem when you import files from my camera. So how do you solve the problem?

The quick solution is to wrap the Sony NEX - 5N 1080/60 p AVCHD files. As to keep the HD video quality and to avoid rendering, I would use the codec ProRes of Apple the FCP and the DNxHD codec in AMC. The two codecs are the best codec for each editing software, so the best way is to convert the Sony NEX - 5N format AVCHD to the ProRes FORMATS for FCP or Transcode AVCHD to MOV DNxHD for Avid Media Composer on Mac.

  • Use Camera RAW with the Sony Nex-3

    Hey guys!

I want to get more details on my photos.

    I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5

Sony NEX - 3 camera Compact (listed in the camera raw compatibility list)

First, I changed the photo cameras to jpg in RAW format and made some photos.

At home I tried to open the files with Camera Raw. Does not work. The sony camera recorded images as ARW file.

So I downloaded Adobe DNG Converter. I've converted the ARW in a RAW file and opened it with camera raw.

So far so good! I opened the FIRST photo with Photoshop. Just to test with 8 & 16-bit also. My camera supports 16-bit?

I compared the RAW file with the jpg created again.

Normally the quality of the raw file should be much better than the jpg compressed, I think.

I took a quick glance at some other pictures of jpg (I shot in JPG Mode) and compared with the FIRST Images (RAW Mode).

I have seen absolutely no difference between RAW and JPG.

I also tried an exact correction of the tonal value at the two images.

Even with the other image corrections. More details, noise, sharpness... even.

With the Sony NEX-3 there was also a program included RAW that opens the ARW files.

I do not see too many differences between RAW and jpg here.

    What I a m d INGO evil ?

I must say that I am a beginner camera's gross. I tried for the first time. I thought it would be easier!

The screenshot below see you an image on the left and a 16-bit DNG on the right.

I have not found any difference!

I would greatly appreciate your help and some good advice.

    Best regards Andi

    jpg-raw.jpg

You have a lot of questions, and you will get countless different answers.

Firstly, raw images are generally images 12 or 14 bits.  Your camera doesn't have to support that, because it's one of the benefits of shooting in raw.  Camera Raw opens the images in a 16-bit workspace.  Due to the additional bits and other factors as well, you're able to do a lot more with images.  If you have deep and strong or extremely brilliant shadows highlights overexposed, you will find that you can recover a lot more detail in these troubled when areas you work with raw image data.  The fact is that if you have perfectly exposed image and you're not overexposed areas or mitigate the shadows, it will be difficult to see the difference.

If you really are not a bad thing.  You must do some experiments more and some studies to better understand yourself the advantage for the filming of raw images.  If you're like most people who contribute here, once you realize you has all the benefits of shooting raw images, you will probably stop shooting JPEG in total.

  • I can't open the raw files of Sony NEX - 5 with PS - CS6 and last raw converter plugin 7.1.

When I try to open raw files from Sony NEX-5, instead of going to PhotoShop, as all my NEF files, they go to another suite of software that I have (One).  I'm on MAC OS with PS - CS6 10.7.5 last and last raw converter plugin 7.1.  On One seems to hi-jack this Sony raw files and does not give me the option for settings I get with Adobe's Raw file converter.  Any help?

  • Sony NEX - 5N unrecognized RAW file

I bought and loaded disc Adobe Elements 10.  When I try to open a RAW file (.) ARW) my Sony NEX - 5N, I get a message that it cannot be opened because it is the wrong type of file.  How can I get 10 items to recognize the RAW files of Sony NEX - 5N?

Here is the link to the supported RAW formats

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

    1. check which version of ACR is installed with your PSE

    Check follow this:

Windows: Open the editor of the elements of the Welcome screen, then goto help > about Plugin > Camer gross

Mac: Open the items, then menu editor Photoshop Elements goto > about plug-in > Camera raw and see the version

Check the version, if its less than 6.5, then you need to update because the cameras you're usning, it requires 6.5 version to work with PES 10 ACR

To update the items goto editor and and then goto help and update, this will be posted the updates available for you 10 PES which will include ACR as well, once the update is completed and installed, then restart the editor PES 10 and then check the version once more to be sure.

If it has updated to version 6.5 or later day, then check your RAW files, they should work now...

  • Limits of app Sony Nex - 5R timelapse

I use the Timelapse integrated on a Sony Nex - 5R application, but I am frustrated by the limits of what the app puts on the number of images that can be captured. Please, remove the ceiling as I like to shoot for 24 hours or more using an external and artificially limited diet by app software is disappointing.

Hi Jesspics! Unfortunately, this option is not available. The application automatically creates an accelerated instead of simple images of shooting film.

  • Sony NEX raster question noise model

I me in treatment of some files today and noticed the bottom half tone / model of armour in an area of my image.  I treated the same file in Sony Image Data Converter and the question isn't here then this is definitely an issue unique to Adobe raw converter.  Seems if poster only this transitional tonal area very smooth, nowhere else in the file.  It was pretty noticeable at the sight of 50% to get my attention in the first place.  The example linked below is enlarged 200% with the cab on the left and Sony IDC on the right. Seems to be rare because it first I encountered this.  This explanation was given to me by a member not adobe in another forum:

"There is a setting in camera DNG ACR/LR green channels profiles called"BayerGreenSplit", which tells the engine to tween to wait a small gap between the two and does not build"grid-patterns"like the ones you see here.  For some reason any, that I can't understand, they declined / to zero this parameter for several Sony cameras in the latest version 6.2/3.2. You can set the parameter between 0-5000. This is an arbitrary value, I don't know what it means in fact of a top scientific - except that no difference is '0' and '5000' a very big difference. »

Is this the cause and this bug will appear in the next version of ACR and Lightroom? The file is not underexposed or extremely manipulated.

Larger version here, is to cut and paste into the browser to see the whole picture as it appears at 200%: http://www.gibranstudio.com/adobenex.jpg

Known problem with the NEX and ACR/Lightroom.

Unfortunately, STC profiles have BayerGreenSplit in them, so you can't set this way.
