Sony NEX - 5N unrecognized RAW file

I bought and loaded disc Adobe Elements 10.  When I try to open a RAW file (.) ARW) my Sony NEX - 5N, I get a message that it cannot be opened because it is the wrong type of file.  How can I get 10 items to recognize the RAW files of Sony NEX - 5N?

Here is the link to the supported RAW formats

http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

1. check which version of ACR is installed with your PSE

Check follow this:

Windows: Open the editor of the elements of the Welcome screen, then goto help > about Plugin > Camer gross

Mac: Open the items, then menu editor Photoshop Elements goto > about plug-in > Camera raw and see the version

Check the version, if its less than 6.5, then you need to update because the cameras you're usning, it requires 6.5 version to work with PES 10 ACR

To update the items goto editor and and then goto help and update, this will be posted the updates available for you 10 PES which will include ACR as well, once the update is completed and installed, then restart the editor PES 10 and then check the version once more to be sure.

If it has updated to version 6.5 or later day, then check your RAW files, they should work now...

Make sure that your sequence configuration matches your footage.

If you are unsure what sequence to choose.

Drag a file into a new item icon.

  • 5 LR does not recognize RAW files

So I don't use LR 5 no problem for 6 months and you have imported Sony, Fuji and Canon RAW files without problem.

Today it does not recognize RAW files more. View the new photos in the library module, I see "Preview not available for this file.

Then, when I try to import "this file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom.

I have the latest version (5.7.1) and it is CR2 (Canon RAW), I'm trying to import from a 760D which is apparently supported

    I'm on a PC, Windows 8

    Hi mudmonkey5,

Canon D 760 support has been added in Lightroom 6.0 and I think that's the reason of not being able to import images into Lightroom 5.7.1

You can see this article which States you need to version 6.0 of Lightroom and Camera Raw 9.0 for these raw files: supported by Camera Raw devices

Or, you can use the free DNG Converter to convert the images in DNG and then, how to import them into Lightroom 5.

  • Use Camera RAW with the Sony Nex-3

    Hey guys!

I want to get more details on my photos.

    I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5

Sony NEX - 3 camera Compact (listed in the camera raw compatibility list)

First, I changed the photo cameras to jpg in RAW format and made some photos.

At home I tried to open the files with Camera Raw. Does not work. The sony camera recorded images as ARW file.

So I downloaded Adobe DNG Converter. I've converted the ARW in a RAW file and opened it with camera raw.

So far so good! I opened the FIRST photo with Photoshop. Just to test with 8 & 16-bit also. My camera supports 16-bit?

I compared the RAW file with the jpg created again.

Normally the quality of the raw file should be much better than the jpg compressed, I think.

I took a quick glance at some other pictures of jpg (I shot in JPG Mode) and compared with the FIRST Images (RAW Mode).

I have seen absolutely no difference between RAW and JPG.

I also tried an exact correction of the tonal value at the two images.

Even with the other image corrections. More details, noise, sharpness... even.

With the Sony NEX-3 there was also a program included RAW that opens the ARW files.

I do not see too many differences between RAW and jpg here.

    What I a m d INGO evil ?

I must say that I am a beginner camera's gross. I tried for the first time. I thought it would be easier!

The screenshot below see you an image on the left and a 16-bit DNG on the right.

I have not found any difference!

I would greatly appreciate your help and some good advice.

    Best regards Andi

You have a lot of questions, and you will get countless different answers.

Firstly, raw images are generally images 12 or 14 bits.  Your camera doesn't have to support that, because it's one of the benefits of shooting in raw.  Camera Raw opens the images in a 16-bit workspace.  Due to the additional bits and other factors as well, you're able to do a lot more with images.  If you have deep and strong or extremely brilliant shadows highlights overexposed, you will find that you can recover a lot more detail in these troubled when areas you work with raw image data.  The fact is that if you have perfectly exposed image and you're not overexposed areas or mitigate the shadows, it will be difficult to see the difference.

If you really are not a bad thing.  You must do some experiments more and some studies to better understand yourself the advantage for the filming of raw images.  If you're like most people who contribute here, once you realize you has all the benefits of shooting raw images, you will probably stop shooting JPEG in total.

  • Sony RAW files

Just got a new Sony NEX 20 camcorder that records still photos in the form of Raw files in .awr format. Can't open in Photoshop CS5, even with Camera Raw plugin 6.5 installed.  Any ideas?

The way it works is this:

Adobe makes Camera Raw regular releases every month several while a version of Photoshop is currently available.  Thus, for example, with Photoshop CS5, Camera Raw versions 6.x are deployed, which everyone takes in charge the new cameras.  Usually they release a copy of the beta a little early so that people who are really at the chomping for the new camera support can, of course to risk using possibly unstable beta software.

The current update to date, Camera Raw in Photoshop CS5 is actually 6.6, if you are a bit outdated.

You can see all the updates on these pages (for example, in Version CS5 section):

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Windows

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Mac

To see if the last update supports your camera, follow the most recent (for example, Camera Raw 6.6) update link, and then follow the link to the ReadMe file.

Do the above, I see NO support for a camera NEX 20, so it seems that you may have to wait for the next update to Camera Raw.  I don't think that there is still a 6.7 beta out.

  • Support for the new Sony camera RAW files

I have a new DSLR Sony ILÇE - 6300 Raw image in iPhoto editing is not supported, as the application overview will not load the Raw files.

Adobe has just updated aps of new cameras, Apple needs to update the app as well?

The list of supported devices is currently here: Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

If your device isn't on the list, you will need to wait for an update.

You can try the free Adobe DNG converter (Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh). If convet you format the photos to DNG, they will always be the FIRST.  Apple photo applications can usually treat the DNG files, if they are not in a compressed format.

  • Raw A7II Sony and Apple Preview/Finder files

While my new A7II records raw files in the. ARW format, I find Apple Preview and Finder does not recognize the format or display an image. Al my other. My NEX-7 ARW and A6000 raw files appear with no problem, but the A7II. ARW files are not displayed.

There is no problem with the import to LR6 or work with files, only in Apple's Finder and an overview. Y at - it something different on full-frame. ARW files such as Apple Finder and preview cannot work with them?

I'm fairly certain that the visualization of an A7 II ARW files means that you must upgrade to Yosemite.

  • Sony NEX - 5N AVCHD files

Sony NEX - 5N is a great compact devices which has the ability to capture HD video in 1080/60 p. This makes for smooth movement. With the recent update to Final Cut Pro X and AMC 6, hoping that the two programs would be add support for AVCHD 60 p/50 p; seems, however, that he did not. Therefore, work with the video from the cameras filming sequences AVCHD 2.0 60 p (like the Sony NEX - 5N) brings a bit of a problem when you import files from my camera. So how do you solve the problem?

The quick solution is to wrap the Sony NEX - 5N 1080/60 p AVCHD files. As to keep the HD video quality and to avoid rendering, I would use the codec ProRes of Apple the FCP and the DNxHD codec in AMC. The two codecs are the best codec for each editing software, so the best way is to convert the Sony NEX - 5N format AVCHD to the ProRes FORMATS for FCP or Transcode AVCHD to MOV DNxHD for Avid Media Composer on Mac.

  • Sony a6300 ARW (RAW) files supported by Lightroom?

    Hey there,

Maybe this question came up to 100 times, but the only answers I can find are from a few months back so I would like to know if there is an update.

The forums say (4/5 months back) that Lightroom was waiting for an update for Sony a6300 ARW (RAW) support files. I downloaded Lightroom today (trial version) with the hope of buying it but if I can't access my RAW files... There is no need at the moment.

Is there an update? I have the latest Lightroom and CameraRaw installed.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Matt.

This is not the latest version.

You need to update your Lightroom for Lightroom CC 2015.7 to keep updated to Lightroom

  • How to open Sony Raw files in LR5 - a7 and a7RII cameras

How to open Sony Raw files in LR5 - a7 and a7RII cameras?

I'm running the last LR5 5.7.1 version but could not open the raw files of Sony cameras, a7 and a7RII.

    Help, please.

Sony A7 needs to import fine in Lightroom 5.7.1. Exactly what happens? What is the error message Word for Word unpublished full accurate?

Sony A7R II requires Lightroom 6.1.1/Lightroom CC 2015.1.1 or later version. You'd have to buy one of them; or alternatively, use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert these RAW to DNG format, which can be imported into LR.
