  If you are looking for quiet AF, your choice is the SMW 'Super Sonic Wave Motor"of Sony, $" ultrasonic silent car ' of Tamron and HSM "Hyper Sonic Motor" all are quieter and provide the fastest development, but they are not cheap do not know if the PZD 'Ultrasonic Piezo Drive' is as quiet as the others but its offered in an all in a zoom which is nice.

• Not silent silent mode

  OK, so I'm still working on how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm a failure.

  It seems so you can press the volume button and clicking on the icon "Bell", I can go through 3 different modes: Loud, vibrate and silent.

  Seems simple enough, only none of these silent applications or games to all modes.

  I just want to put my phone on silent/vibrate and I know that even applications and games will be silent too.

  I thought I would put on vibrate mode and drag the media zero volume and it would remember it... then put in strong mode would make media slider back to normal volume?... No, I have to come back to fashion strong and remember to drag the media back to normal volume...

  Should I really manually, change the mode, and then click the cursor buttons slide media zero volume... and don't forget to slide up EVERY time?

  Is it still possible to have vibrate silent mode everything (except alarms!) and then strong mode have a normal volume once again?

  Any help appreciated.

  If anyone is interested, I fixed that with a workaround.

  The issue is inherent bad design on Android OS, but I'm sure that Sony could fix.

  An application called Media-Mute in app store has solved the problem and when you turn off your phone by vibration or silent mode, it also silenced media apps without having to use additional hidden media volume slider.

  Sony (or Google) Please fix that and improve on stupid Android to cut your phone just like apps/games/media is muted. I don't mind given the option to turn off the alerts and media/apps separately, but it should be by default to mute when muting phone... with additional long-term steps to have the media strong but alerts cut or whatever.

• Silent mode on 5.1.1

  How can I activate the silent mode on 5.1.1 it is not an option in the drop-down notification. Or use the keys of volume as 5.0.2.
  Any ideas?

  Nope. Unlocked Z3 offers the same quality as those locked in your market.

  Unlocked Z3 means that the owner has the choice. Use it as it is with all the Z3 features all or it can unlock the bootloader to do advanced stuff but loose key DRM then.

  So basically if you buy locked Z3 you can not unlock the bootloader. Those who buy unlocked Z3 has the same phone as you, but it can unlock the bootloader if he would like to do.

• Lollipop 5.1.1 silent priority vs and symbols of volume status bar mode

  Hi all

  just upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 (from 5.0.2). Thank you devs of sony.

  Took place without a hitch - preserved apps, etc.

  However, decided to start again so erased memory.

  I noticed that the priority mode is no more (at least it does not appear now when you press hard volume keys - you get just 'normal' volume controls).

  "failures" are now described in sounds and notifications as "silent mode".

  I also noticed that a few symbols volume in the status bar seem no more. For example, I know with the symbol representing a star my volume in priority mode settings to be quiet or silent. With the hit through circle, I should be on silence and the phone with the small vertical bars meant that I was to vibrate mode.

  I can only now the symbol of the vibrate mode to appear.

  Finally, what is the status of alarms? There used to be a note in the interruptions on the alarms menu to always be treated as priority events.

  Sorry if this is simple.

  One more down-press takes you to silence. Here you get your priority controls and the ability to turn off the alarm, as needed.

  Star and struck through circle symbols are active in the status bar, depending on whether you set the switch to "allow exceptions.

  It is a pity that you can not the shortcut in the menu power button as you used to, but I think it's much clearer now, with regard to the layout, that is, these are the permutations that can have silent mode.

  I appreciate the efforts that you put to publish the query on this forum.

  Please help me with the following information about the issue:

  (1) you receive the notification/pop up in the taskbar?

  (2) when you receive these pop-ups? This is when using the device?

  (3) do you find problems when you use the scanner device or USB on laptop computer Sony or HP Easynote laptop devices respectively?

  (4) have you tried to install updates of the notification?

  (5) where have you checked the status of the driver for the USB controllers? Is it under Device Manager? +

  I suggest you to check the status of the driver for the device in Device Manager. Check out the link to do so:

  This could be related to updates driver from the manufacturer, on their respective Web sites.

  I suggest you to try updating the driver for the scanner and USB controllers and check if it helps.

  Probably the best source for used lenses in the United States is KEH. They specialize in used gear and thus have a better choice than conventional retailers who sell used gear as an offshoot of their main activity. Amazon and eBay are also good choices, but you must be more careful with them.

  Purchase of a used lens is not as full of dangers, as many people believe, but there are some things you should pay attention to.

  1. Clean the lens, if it isn't already and look closely at the optics at both ends. There should not be any misalignment of the indicidual (indication of damage) lenses, and should not be cracked or engraving on any of the lenses (indication of damage of mushroom).
  2. The aperture blades should all be present, anf, they must be clean and dull. If one of the blades is brilliant, the lubricant turned to sticky goo (an indication that the lens has been exposed to high temperatures) which will slow down or even adversely affect their operation.
  3. Make sure that the zoom and setting rings to the point (and ring opening, if she a) work smoothly through their full range.
  4. Check that the lens perfectly fits your camera.
  5. Check that the lens autofocuses quickly, quietly (but not necessarily in silent mode) and invariably, when alternating between close and distant subjects.
  6. Take a few pictures with very large openings (numerically small numbers) and some with very small apertures (numerically large numbers) and make sure that they are all properly exposed. (If photos taken with very small openings are brighter than they should be, the aperture blades could be sticky, as I mentioned in #2.)

  If you see something that doesn't look good, it box, send it and make sure you get a refund.

  One thing you must remember, when looking at the Minolta lenses used, is that digital image sensors are brilliant, much more that of 35mm film, which can cause the light to reflect back light to the lens. Objectives for the film cameras don't have the coatings on the rear lens elements that prevent the light to reflect to the probe, as objectives for digital cameras. This can produce ghosts and flare with compositions that are very bright images.

  Good luck. There are countless lenses that perform well on the body of Sony A-Mount and can be made for a fraction of what the new lenses sell for, and there are countless lenses that are not yet available of the current offerings of Sony.

  I'm angry with the Sony product development team. I bought the a99 October 2012. Now, they have released the a7r with a full frame of 36mp sensor that is not compatible with my lenses get Ziess. This seems to be a bad way to treat clients who invested $$$ in their product. Any comments?

  Depends on what can make the competition.  Lenses is probably the area of Zeiss.  For 2014, I expect more tweeks, especially for RAW firmware not compressed, improved jpg, etc.  2ndGen cameras, I would like to see much more robust housings (not plastic whatsoever!), more capacity for studio work, a very fast silent smoother to shutter, autofocus, the IBIS, the fastest VIEWFINDER for fully customizable sport buttons and dials, put the lens on the other side release button! and the slightly larger body for large hands (which could accommodate a much larger battery) in other words, take a great design at a higher level, this could be a real killer in competition.

  Go to: settings > do not disturb - disable manual and scheduled, if one is enabled.

  Before we get too far, it's always a good idea to check that your 'secret' button just above your volume controls is not engaged. If you see that the yellow indicator go ahead and switch to the other position to turn it off.

  Alternatively, you can drag up from the bottom of the screen and make sure that the control of "do not disturb" is disabled.

  I am really disappointed that since updating to iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 I can jump is no longer pieces of music using the buttons on my Sony car stereo when my phone is connected. The forward Skip button does nothing and the rear bucket go up to the beginning of the game and no further track. It is very annoying (if not downright dangerous) to have to fiddle with the phone while I'm driving to jump tracks. Car stereo controls still work fine with my iPod.

  Everyone knows this? Does anyone have a solution?

• Takes are silent when copied and pasted into the new track

  After recording several takes of a vocal part and a model gliding around how I like it, I decided to dub the voices and use another part of the (unused) takes.

  I created a new title in doubles (CMD - D) and pasted the vocal track (including), but the new double track is silent.  I can see the track and everything going out there and tried to remove plugins, copy and paste in different ways, but the track and just stay silent.  I can see them all here in the new track, and all that I can see, they should be heard.

  I tried this search anywhere online and cannot find any mention of this problem anywhere.  Is this just a bug?  I forgot something?

  What version of logic you use.

  It worked well here with 10.2.4
