  Hello

  I have a problem with a programmable power recently bought Sorensen XG 60-14. In my application (LabView 2012), I use this power to fuel a cooler through regulation PID Peltier. My code sets the current performance of the PSU to the all the 1 sec. My application works without any problem for days, until like 4-5 days, and then I get a crash.

  The first problem is that, when I get the error, the LabView gives a pop up window asking continue so or stop? This is really not good, since my code should stop completely in case of error (I wrote my code in a way if there is error, he must close and stop all other material, like other power supplies). I used the official "lvlib" Sorensen to make my own screws, see set in the zip file.

  In my code, I first tried to use the "configure Output.vi" Sorensen VI official with very little modification, but usually, I got errors and accidents after 2 or 3 days. So I decided to get rid of dish-sequence-structure and also unnecessary allow exit on every play, so I set it too.

  Now I use the Output_Sorensen_XG.vi 'configure', and I call it the "Sorensen_XG_psu.vi." So in my high level VI, I call these screws with 1 Hz frequency.

  What can be the problem? I created leak memory somehow? I should close some refnums in the Output_Sorensen_XG.vi 'configure' after each iteration, there is a lot of property nodes?

  EDIT: actually, I realized that the second jpg is the info error relevant, since the first is just a mistake of a Subvi, where I try to shut down the power supply in case of error, and that the part is not connected via wire error.

  So the relevant error is second, the "refnum zero or removed ' a. But how the refnum evaluates to null?

• Need help to test the VISA interactive Control: Sorensen XBT32 - 3FTP USB connection problem

  I use Windows 7. I installed the USB driver provided in this link:http://www.sorensen.com/products/XBT/XBT_Downloads.htm.

  Max is on the ASRL5: COM5 series & parallel in the Device Manager it is listed in the port: COM5

  I don't know how to test using VISA interactive control to ensure that the connection is established.

  Here are the parameters:

  Serial settings:

  Baud rate: 38400,

  Data bits: 8

  Stop bits: 1

  Parity: None

  I use the default settings for the other options such as flow control: none, Timeout = 2000ms etc.

  In the attributes view tab:

  Attribute: is the connected port

  Current value: error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) the specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.

  I don't know if it's important.

  When I write * IDN? \n (bytes to read: 6), I return the Count: 6 bytes

  When I click on "Read Status Byte":, I get the following error:

  Error reading STB operation VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF003A) cannot start the operation because the installer is not valid (because of attributes defined in an inconsistent state).

  If I click on "Query", I get the following error: reading operation error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

  I also tried to create USB raw driver help driver of VISA Assistant. In this case I kept getting timeout errors: read operation error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

  Who cares about the number of bytes written? And configure the windows com port is not relevant. What is important is how you set the com port in the VI or max.

• Sorensen XEL power is compatible with labview

  What Sorensen XEL power compatible with labview? I'm in the automotive field of vehicle dashboard. I want to test and simulate different transient conditions that may generate noise in the pipe I needed of a programmable power supply. Currently I have a NIcompactRIO configuration. I needed voltage output cards higher simulation and test requirements and special conditions.

  I was told that the Sorensen XEL series is compatible with Labview. Is this fair? The other question I have is NIcompactRIO uses IP Ethernet, but Sorensen communication RS 232 communication. Can I have some possible parallel communication with Labview frontend Protocol, controlling all the two from the same unique computer.

  Third, what are the function blocks required in the VI for Sorensen.And programming last but least, where can I get a drivers Sorensen RS 232?

  Nothing in this VI with Ethernet communication so I don't understand what you're asking.

  Rather than add a \r\n with each entry, I recommend you set up VISA to automatically add and I would also recommend that you enable the character to stop playing as well. Then, there was no need for the VISA to the Serial Port bytes and these expectations. Look at the example of advanced series to learn how to set the VISA property to add a termination character.

  Lately, I've updated my LabView 8.6 to 8.6.1 then lately, I get the following error message when you use the VI atteched:

  Error-1073807338 at VISA near sornsg Close.vi-> output - Dima old.vi-> lambda_sornsg.vi-> COG.vi-> Ch2_main_with_s11.vi

  Possible reasons:

  VISA: VISA (Hex 0xBFFF0016) driver failed to properly close the reference object or session. This could be due to a mistake releasing internal or operating system resources, a network connection has failed, or a lower level driver or OS.

  I have no idea of what the problem

• Applications recommended for iPencil

  I bought the iPencil with my Pro.  I tried to find applications that use it, but has no chance. My last choice was AstroPad which is a great application, but requires a connection to a Mac.  For what I'm trying to do, I see carrying around as well as the Pro Mac.

  I'm mainly looking for drawing applications, but will be suggestions about any other application with a smile.

  I'm doing a LabVIEW program to control a power supply of Sorensen. The VI circled in red calls for supply of the voltage and current and then exports it. I want this to happen continuously, but it seems that it only updates once. Anyone know how to fix this?

  Yes.  Your loop will not go again until an event occurs as the change in value on the value of the boolean values.  You might want to set a timeout on the structure of the event so that if no event occurs (I don't know if you have other manifestations), the case of delay of the event structure is running and the loop will iterate.

• Interfacing of FTP LabVIEW Sorenson XBT 32-3

  I am programmer LabVIEW novice XBT Sorenson 32-3FTP DC Power Supply out of Labview execution attempt, so that I can integrate it as a sub VI into my current program.  My control requirements are minimal, I only need to do two things; Turn the power on (or begin just to the power of the source, or the other option is acceptable) and adjust the voltage level at the appropriate level, button or text entry. My questions are twofold;

  1. Web site OR claims that all drivers on the website of Sorenson are compatible with a GPIB connector, but never mention the possibility of using a USB connector.  Mr. Sorenson thinks or the other of these two drivers would work, as well as an RS-232 cable. I just wanted to make sure it's true, because I'm in trouble if only GPIB is taken care.

  This power comes standard with a USB connection and a RS-232 (serial) connection. The GPIB connection is optional, and unless you bought it, you won't have it. The drivers themselves are written using VISA. VISA supports talking to the instruments or via RS-232, GPIB, TCP/IP (ethernet) or USB. You specify the type of connection via the name of resource VISA. If you open a pilot on the screws, you will see the name of resource VISA control. If you click on the drop down arrow for that, you will get a list of the recognized instruments. This is MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer).

  For USB the instrument must support the Protocol USBTMC. The datasheet for food involves USBTMC, but is not explicit.

  For RS - 232 all you will see are the COM ports on your computer.

  So, if you have a standard diet, you can simply connect a cable RS-232 for her and the driver can be used. You need to configure the parameters of the serial port with the VI initialize. If you want to try the USB drive, you should check with Sorensen that he does not support the Protocol USBTMC.   Forgive me if I am away from base, but I'm flying blind at the moment (not LV to test what I say).  You can add to the power of a regular expression using submatches or capture groups.  The regular expression you wrote will grab (I think) @gmail.com for the entire game.  Let's say you want to get 'gmail' without a second function call.  You can do the first group of a little dishonest selection by moving the * inside the parentheses.  Then, on the BD pull down on the bottom of the function of regular expression matching to expose a variable number of submatches (both should be in this case).  The first should be 'gmail '.   The second one should be "com."

  In summary, @(\w*)\.) (com: net | org) should give you gmail in the first submatch.  Of course, my Perl is a little rusty and LV cannot apply in the same way.

  LabVIEW: Serial Port receive buffer overflow.

  LabVIEW: The network connection was refused by the server. For TCP/IP, make sure that the server is running and listening on the port you want to use. Firewalls can also cause a server to refuse a connection. To VI Server, make sure that you have enabled the server from VI tools > Options > VI Server.

  I can actually get the power supply to operate on the VISA. It needed fixed two bugs, in the case where others are interested:

  * Setting VI_ATTR-TERMCHAR_EN to VI_TRUE

  * Creation of the resource VISA under the 'manual entry of the raw socket"rather than one of the other two. This is necessary because I'm trying to communicate via a specified port.

  So I'm fine now, I just can't pass strings directly via IP and port that I thought I should. It may be a device-specific problem, but I'm always interested in other thoughts.

  Ok.  I have it.

  HyperTerminal has worked.

  He checked that port settings and command syntax is correct.

  ALL programs in LabVIEW examples do not have the function of VC to food.  When I hard coded the CR function after the order (also preprogrammed) it worked.  Xantrex (now Sorensen) manual do include SOME simple examples - you just know by experience (catch 22) how do.

  Also be noted that we need to send both a voltage and current definition commands because both are zero by default.  (If you send one, nothing SEEMS to happen because the other is 0).  That could also have been included in an example of beginning.

Please help-
