  • ZV5000 - want to get the BIOS update but do not have Windows

    Hello

just got my trusty zv5000 AMD out of the closet and intend to play with Linux on it.  At the moment there no bone because the HD has not, although I noticed that the BIOS is a former F.21 and would get to you last F.35.    Unfortunately, it seems that I can only do the update of the BIOS if I am running Windows.

Wondering if there is a bootable ISO or floppy image available that I can use to do the update.  I prefer not to have to locate a copy of Windows, install on a new HD just to update the BIOS.

Thanks for any help on this

How could I solve this problem? Is - this file is wrong?

This message also appears in case you have changed the system and BIOS Setup cannot check the DMI info available on the laptop.

I read some horror stories about Toshiba users who have tried a BIOS update, although Windows like Toshiba recommends, and their computers got fried. It seems that it was a problem experienced by Toshiba (I mean that they knew the question users face tried updating the BIOS thei), which they tried to resolve with this latest version of the BIOS.

Has anyone tried this update and I share his opinion? Is it a go come or not?

    Thank you guys.

To be honest I ve read also several horror stories in this forum on the BIOS update, but the question is do this people do BIOS update following the instructions of Toshiba.
Can you imagine that some people make recovery installation or update of the BIOS on power electric battery? And when the cell phone cut because of the empty battery then it is Toshiba's fault of course.

I did several times on different laptops upgrade BIOS and everything goes well.
The fact is, all available BIOS updates are tested.

Can you please send us the exact laptop model name or model number? I want to check the BIOS update is available for your model of laptop.

I use my Satellite C660 - 1 7 for a year now, and recently I have a Wi - Fi connection problem with my laptop. I can find the network in my laptop, but it loses the connection permanently. It's a little boring.

    Can someone help me please?

Do you have this problem with power supply battery only or is the problem when the laptop is connected to the power supply running too?

  • The Hewlett-Packard 786 7 v01.02 BIOS update

    Hello

I installed a nvidia geforce gtx 560 card ti graph in the workstation HP xw4400 of my son as a Christmas gift, and I get the following error message:

"Your computer's system firmware includes enough information to set up and use this.

My understanding is that I need to update the BIOS, but I can't find an update for Hewlett-Packard 786 7 v01.02 on this site. I've attached a screenshot of system information.

Thanks in advance for your support.

The XW4400 is currently in the BIOS v2.07 Rev A, 8 December 2010 , but the history tab provides no story at all... so I can't find the old versions of BIOS and as such can't see if it's OK to jump directly from v1.02 to v2.07 without problem...

But the tab notes relase v2.07 includes following:

This package contains the system BIOS (BIOS family 7 786) and BIOS image the and remote flash utility for the HP xw4400 workstation. These utilities can be used to restore or update THE system BIOS. System BIOS is the operating system
    independent.

If the BIOS linked above is for your XW4400 that uses the BIOS 786 7 family...

But please note that the XW4400 has only updates for XP & VISTA and not Windows8. So the XW4400 updates may or may not work as expected when it is used with Windows 8. Both such and especially with a BIOS update that can be risky, I won't use the method of updating windows (HPQFlash) flashing the BIOS from version HPQFlash may not be completely compatible Win8... Instead, I would like to use the 'flash-BACK' or "BIOS CD" methods.

You can learn more about the different methods of updating BIOS by looking at all the README files in sp51215.exe. You can either run sp51215.exe to unzip the contents of c:\swsetup\sp51215\ (but do not perform a bios update, just close the tool) or 7-zip to directly view the content of sp51215.exe...

As a species at HP by doing as little work as possible, my still under warranty Z210 running Win7 Pro 64 bit has issues with Estate HDD support. The last driver from HP TSRI is version 10.6.0.1002, which plays well with my hard drives Estate because they appear as removable devices... Last iRST driver Intel 13.2.4.1000 does not support the "cougar point" such chipset used in my Z210 and causes weird problems when I Estate connected HARD drive (and sometimes when not connected)... But Intels TSRI version 12.9.0.1001 driver supports chipsets "cougar point" and so I can finally esata hard drive appears as removable devices...

Unfortunately, HP has not bothered to update their drivers for centuries and they stay with a 10.6.0.1002 defective TSRI pilot... As you seem, HP wont always do the necessary work, and it's on a support and still under warranty machine... I call it "HP." Support '...

The update of the BIOS may or may not help your situation, but in all cases, you have still some problems with drivers and the Windows 8 to settle as the XW4400 was never certified for Win8. You may need to perform a job detective to ensure that drivers, especially the chipset drivers, used during the Win8 installed and updates post install actually support the hardware itself... He is a guy to know what is the problem that the documents appear to be getting dumbed down and therefore, you will need to do a lot of reading...

Otherwise, you could try to install a different generation or make card but a bike may have been a more easy Christmas gift...

  • T400 became a brick after bios update

Update ThinkVantage told me that I had a bios update to do, last night, I started & went to bed. Full battery, plugged in, etc.

This morning, I went down to my home office and attempted to 'wake up' the laptop, it was totally insensitive. Since he was about 8 1/2 hours to do the upgrade, I unplugged and jumped the battery to reset. When I went to restart, I got 3 beeps (1 long and 2 short).

    BRICK!

Warranty expired last October (could not extend), now Lenovo tells me that I have to pay for the repair, could be up to $500 for a problem caused by the update of Lenovo.

I read a post where you can put the CD bootable on a USB key & reflash the bios image, but maybe the USB is not bootable because I understand not anywhere with this method.

Someone at - it ideas? I did the thing the cmos battery, but who did nothing else but a chance to blow the dust off the DIMMs.

Any constructive help appreciated. Thank you

I was contacted by Lenovo, and they're going to do a repair for my device.

  • Lenovo: Please bring T500 BIOS update with T400

Another Member of the forum has recently reported that they were installing BIOS 2.12 on their T400. I thought: it's funny, the BIOS for my T500 is yet to v1.20. By comparing the BIOS T400 T500 BIOS you can see that the versions are parallel, with almost all the same replaces up to verson 1.20. Then the T400 received 4 most recent BIOS, while his apparently poor cousin T500 got NONE. What gives?

Lenovo: please release of new updates to the BIOS for the T500! It is unfair to the owners of T500 not to put BIOS timely updates. In particular, it seems that the BIOS 2.07 - 1.01 for the T400 can cure a DVI display problem I have with my T500. I'm upset that this fix is not yet available for my T500.

Version 2.12 - 1.01 of the T500 BIOS is currently available at Lenovo, dated dated 06/04/2009

  • HP dv6t - b 6, 00 list updated but will not update Bios

I have a HP dv6t - b 6, 00 and when you run the wizard help HP it shows that there is an update for the bios, but when I run the update, it goes throughout installation then returned to the screen to maintain as if it finished successfully.  The update itself disappears from the list, but if I look under view history, it shows a red X next to the update, and if I restart the computer, the update appears again in the wizard for help.

No.. F.12 exceeds F.02. You don't need to update the BIOS. Ignore the BIOS update until the issue is resolved in the backend.

  • ThinkPad T400 not display after BIOS update

    Hello dear,

I updated my BIOS via Lenovo BIOS update and everything went successfully and it asked me to restart your computer after the BIOS update and now I don't get any screen, I waited like 10-15 min to see if I can see something and saw it started and I've updated my drivers for win 7 ultimate and when restarting again I don't have no matter what screen and I wait 20 more to see if I get something.  Anyone else facing the same problem here after the BIOS update?

  • Pavilion 15-p246sa: BIOS update successful but cannot now access the BIOS screen

The recommendation in HP Support Assistant I've just updated BIOS version f33, f34.  This succeeded and the Pavilion starts normally.

However when I try pressing ESC at startup key is ignored and the trunk.

How to reactivate the computer to respond to the ESC key and allow me to access the system configuration utility?  Have I somehow corrupt CMOS data?

SOLVED!  I discovered the site of download drivers HP there is more BIOS updates for my Pavilion, the last being F.42.  So I installed this.

At that time, it was possible to get the system configuration utility by pressing the ESC key.  However, it works a cold power upward, not reboot.

Also the window by pressing the key is very short, some say about one-fifth of a second, and if you press two times you do not see the system configuration at all.  If some patience is required.

  • Critical BIOS update alert would have been the center of Support of Dell, but a Publisher not identified.

When I started my computer this morning (I'm in the United Kingdom), I was greeted by an alert, would have been to support Dell saying that my laptop needed a critical BIOS update. When I went by the initial movements of download 1525_A16.exe, I found that it came from an unknown Publisher, so I do not run. Has anyone else had this disturbing alert?

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I am running Vista.

    Dear red dawn

Thank you for taking the time to respond and to locate the update that appears to be true after all. Seeing that it was an update of the critical BIOS from an unknown Publisher, I was extremely suspicious to say the least. and in fact, I thought that it must contain a virus.

If it wasn't such a business, put in touch with Dell, now that my warranty has expired, I would give them a piece of my mind.

    Thank you once again

  • Clocked at 20 degrees warmer since putting on 3.87 Rev A Bios Update on Z420 Workstation

    I have a question:

Not too long ago I put the Bios Update on A Rev 3.87 was considered to be as critical an update on my workstation Z420 (running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit), and lately I've found that the CPU idling at about 20 degrees more hot than before.  I used to hear creaking noises coming from the computer I learned normally come circuits on the motherboard power delivery, but as long as I heard those CPU would be on average around 50 degrees C at idle.  I hear these noises and now the CPU is on average around 70-75 degrees C at idle.  Not sure what the connection is.  HP performance Advisor tells me I'm in the normal range, but I want to just make sure that with programs like Autodesk Maya there, she become too hot and stop the machine.   I don't know what the temp high-end is considered maximum security.  This change could have due to the update of the Bios?

Thank you for your response and suggestions.  I check in my BIOS power management settings has been developed the extended mode, but the temperature has always hovered around 70-78 degrees at idle.  I checked Intel spec for this (E5 - 1650 6-core xeon) processor, clocked at 3.2 Ghz by heart, and although he said nothing on the TMax, he mentioned that the TCase (which he defined as the maximum temperature allowed integrated processor heat sink (IHS)) was 64 degrees Celsius.  Now my temperature of the case, according to my HP Performance Advisor version 1.7.7517.0 is only about 24 degrees C, but I put my fan a little higher CPU, about 2009 rpm speed.  This makes a little more noise, but my CPU temp has dropped to about 49 °.  "" Before the change of the fan speed has been slightly more than 1300 RPM while the Advisor I have always said that it is in the range "normal".  Is it good to get the speed of the CPU fan like that or do I have to go a little lower?

  • Satellite L40 - 14 H - do not start after the successful BIOS update

    Hello

I have Satellite L40 - 14 H which was working fine until I thought to an update of the BIOS will not hurt. Seems I was wrong.

I downloaded the update to the BIOS, it unzipped in a folder and started the action.

After a few seconds was asked to wait, and then after few more firm.

After the reboot, I pressed F2 to enter the BIOS and check that it is version everything was fine, version 2.0 so was I left once the parameters.

    After that, nothing happened.

I almost tried everything without success. Removed the power and battery power, put their back, but still no start. Just the light of the HARD drive lights up for a few seconds and the cd turns a bit, but after that nothing happens at all and completely the screen is black.

I don't know anything else to try.

Please let me know what that can do to restore its functionality without taking it to the service, I can't do it.
I think that may not be cause of failure of the BIOS update I have seen it is the version and was right.
Is it possible to reset the BIOS? I need to disassemble the laptop to do this?
Let me know what to do, I have good experience in such things, but I can't understand this.

Thanks in advance for any response.

    Kind regards
    Stefan

    Hello

I agree with Akuma. It really isn't that you can do about it. BIOS problems are complex and cannot be set by the owner of the laptop. Believe me you need professional help with this.
Contact the closest Toshiba ASP and explain the situation.

  • The HP Pavilion a6560z bios update

    I have a HP Pavilion a6560z. Product #: KZ851AV

I tried to upgrade the processor of double base installed to a phenom x 4 9550, that my research shows is compatible as long as I have updated the bios. I am currently running bios version 5.14 20/06/2008. My problem is the OS original on this PC is Vista, I erased this OS and now run Win 7. I found an update of bios, version 5.49 but she said do not be there except if Vista is installed. Will install this bios brick Council since its desingned for vista?

I can't enter the bios with the 9550 installed but it does not start in windows. The bios shows that it is a blah blah Phenom quad core, so at least he acknowledges that, but when I try to load windows it says "the file is maybe damaged. The file header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. "I read that had a memory problem and tried 8 different sticks, all with the same result, so I thought it was a bios problem. Anyway, any help on a version of bios, I can try without bricking advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if its for Vista that I am always willing to try. This pc is not much of value. Thank you.

    You are welcome.

Thanks for the quick response. Last question, if I could somehow reinstall Vista (system recovery is not an option) and then perform the bios update I was able to install windows 7 and then continue with the new (er) cpu?
