ThinkPad T400 not display after BIOS update

Hello dear,

I updated my BIOS via Lenovo BIOS update and everything went successfully and it asked me to restart your computer after the BIOS update and now I don't get any screen, I waited like 10-15 min to see if I can see something and saw it started and I've updated my drivers for win 7 ultimate and when restarting again I don't have no matter what screen and I wait 20 more to see if I get something.  Anyone else facing the same problem here after the BIOS update?

What should I do guys then, I always let the warranty? Update BIOS removes the guarantee?

Thanks in advance for your advice

    > 1. How can I update the BIOS to get my PC to running back.
Not possible if your ROM BIOS module was bad flashed.
If you are a lucky man only the ROM module must be flashed again using a special procedure. But this can be done by a service provider authorized in your country.

There is no link! You need to ask to help ASP.

  • Satellite L750 - Bluetooth does not work after BIOS update

I am preparing some L750 notebooks for use and accept updates from the Toshiba, which included an upgrade of BIOS v1.70 for v2.00. He appears after this update occurs that Bluetooth no longer works, i.e. try to install Bluetooth Toshiba stack will fail as it is said that the Bluetooth radio is disabled and must be turned on for continue.

As the L750 (model PSK1WA-0C300R) is not a hardware switch to enable or disable the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, the only option available (Fn + F8) is unsuccessful. I ran a recovery of factory default installation and Bluetooth still does not - resumption of classes does not restore the BIOS to the previous version. I have 5 of the model and confirmed the update of the BIOS is the cause. Two laptops now have v2.00 and Bluetooth has been tested in the work before the update of the BIOS.

If Bluetooth is not critical for the environment which I deploy these notebooks, it's an annoyance I want to solve. My questions are: has anyone encounter the same problem and managed to resolve it? Is there a BIOS v1.70 available for download to restore the functionality? Y at - it an update of the BIOS > V2.00 for solve the problem I have? Thank you.

    Hi JasonL750,

Load default settings after updating the BIOS? Go into the BIOS, press the F9 key to load the default settings of the installation. Also, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS if there is such an option.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what happens if you use the FN + F8 key combination. Don't you see that he has an option to turn on Bluetooth and if so what happens if you do this?

  • Satellite C55-A-16Z - graphics card does not work after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite C55-A-16Z with windows 8 and a Nvidia geforce 740M graphics card.

Last week he asked me to update the version of the bios at 1.30.
    The bios update was successful.

However when I restarted my laptop I started having a BSOD dgxkrnl.sys.
Correction of the error and restarted for an another BSOD Windows, and after the second solution, I stopped making BSOD.
But now, I noticed its games running, if not use the dedicated card, but use the 4000 Intel.

In the settings Nvidia dedicated card is configured to be always on.
It seems that my card is missing, but it appears in Device Manager.
I tried to delete, update the drivers and the default factory reset, but nothing helped.

Also, when I go into Options power the Intel card is listed and when I disable the card intel in the Device Manager it starts to use the graphic viewer for windows.

How can I get my Nvidia card to work again?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

After the BIOS update the BIOS should be set to default settings.
You can do it in the BIOS.

In addition, you mentioned that Windows 8 is still installed on your laptop.
8.1 to win has already been published by Microsoft and I highly recommend that update you the system of 8 to 8.1 Win Win.

Before you start the upgrade to 8.1 win, you should check and read the instructions step by step for Toshiba: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

I guess that after the Win 8.1, nVidia graphics card upgrade works well also.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A135-S2286 - USB ports does not work after BIOS update

I recently had the dreaded BIOS password prompt problem. I checked online to the toshiba support site and took the laptop to a toshiba authorized service center and is fixed by getting the updated BIOS updated to 1.60, but after update BIOS, none of my USB ports work.

When I connect a USB device, a warning from yellow pop up comes up unrecognized USB device. The same USB device works fine on other computers/laptops. I searched online for a solution and found on a lot of people have the same problem, but did not find any fix for this error.

It will be useful, if someone has a solution for this error.

    Hey Buddy,

Is there yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager next to USB ports or they appear correctly?

If you notice a yellow exclamation you must remove the USB port and restart the computer. All USB ports are installed automatically, you do not need an additional driver.

I hope that it helps :)

  • Satellite L40 (PSL48E) - is not restart after BIOS update

    Hello

My problem is that I have updated the BIOS and after that the machine does not restart. (Corrupt BIOS?)

After that the BIOS updated (Satellite L40 PSL48E), reboot the machine and with the F2 key, I open the BIOS setup.
I check the version of the BIOS (5.50) and complete the configuration of the BIOS. The machine must restart now...
Not at all, the machine does not restart. No screen only the powerled lights.

I can to fix it on my own as a BIOS reset?

    Thank you for the cooperation.

It's strange because after that the updated BIOS update you can go into the BIOS.

However, try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait one hour and then put the battery back in and connect the AC adapter. Try again.

If it doesn't work it is something wrong with the hardware or BIOS and must be checked by a technician for laptop.

  • Satellite Pro L100 does not work after BIOS update

Okay, the computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L100 PSLA4. Problem occurred during an update of the BIOS on the official website of Toshiba. I downloaded the zip file, it extracts and activated the .exe file at the Interior.

The window opened by the .exe is a program flashing BIOS, the .exe wrote at the same time a new BIOS file to a temporary folder.
When he tried to use the program I got was an error saying it couldn't find the new BIOS to the entrance.

I tried again only to get the same error. Then I left the laptop for several minutes and when I got home, I found a laptop no longer Virgin.
On which I hear by an obvious lack of BIOS functions i.e. power LED does not change when the connection to disconnect it from the power outlet and the fact that I had to take out the battery to turn off the machine. When the power is turned on now it is check readers and restarts (no display, no beeps)

    What should I do?
The first thing that comes to mind was to reset the BIOS.
A problem, I can not find the RTC battery or a rider switch.

    Hi George

I can't tell why it happened, but I can tell what happened.

In my opinion, something went wrong during the process of updating the BIOS and the ROM modules was not writer properly.

Simply says the BIOS update procedure has failed.
In this case, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a fix
The technician must be able to rewrite the ROM module and updated the BIOS again.

    Good luck buddy

  • Satellite A200 (PSAFCA) does not work after BIOS update triying

    Hello

I was hoping if someone could help me pls.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 (PSAFCA).
Recently, I tried the bios update and while I flashed the bios I forgot to plug the laptop into the current and the battery was flat at half way through the flashing.

Thus the laptop now won't post when I turn on and all I get is a white screen.
I was wondering if someone could pls advise me on how I can get the old bios back or even a method of flashing it if I put the bios back in so I can at least get a message to display on the screen.

Any help that you provide would be greatly appreciated as I am at a loss.

    Thanking you in advance

    muzzy001

    > while I flashed the bios I forgot to plug the laptop into the current and the battery flat at half way through the flashing.

Well buddy, the cell must always be connected to the mains during the execution of an update of the BIOS! This is very important!
Now it looks like the update of BIOS didn't t run and finish correctly and the ROM module seems to be flashed incorrectly.

Unfortunately, there is no other solution to communicate with ASP guys and ask for help! They should be able to help you.

But note; in the worst cases, the ROM module is unfortunate and the motherboard needs to be replaced.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L735-103: one key does not work after BIOS update

    Hello

I got a Sat L735-103, part no: PSK0CE - 00N0OUEP and I download the bios for this pc, toshiba Web site.
I have updated bios with no problem, but now a realization thatm a key (the key located in the good of "* f ' and 'z') of the keyboard does not work.
I have a plate with windows and linux, and the result is the same.

Maybey I need to go back to the old bios, but in the toshiba Web site only have a bios download: (.)

    Hello

Somehow, I can't believe that this button malfunction has something to do with the new BIOS.
Have you noticed the anomaly key immediately after the update of the BIOS?
You have default BIOS? If not, access the BIOS by pressing F2 when starting the laptop.
Here, you can set default BIOS and then save the changes.

If this is not enough, I would recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP because the technician must check whether the button is defective. In this case, replace the keyboard. The technician would be able to downgrade the BIOS as well and could check if it of really a BIOS issue.

    Hello

    First one comment:
    * I am updating my laptop regularly whenever I get alert through TEMPRO or Toshiba service center. *
That s is nice, but certainly not necessary. When the system is working, do not touch or change anything. Maybe stupid sounds now, but I recommend you to remove the TEMPRO system. Believe me you don't need. I have 2 years old Satellite A300 and original BIOS. It works perfectly and I don't want to take any chances and to change what anyone. Since last month, I have the Satellite U500-1EX and will do the same. TEMPRO is already removed, and I am happy with the factory settings.

All that you have done is OK, but at least you can try to reinstall entire OS now using HDD recovery option (F8 at startup) to see if everything works well again. Sorry, but if this will not help, I think that you need the BIOS downgrade to the old version.

  • Satellite P855 - 10 H does not work after BIOS update

I bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite P855 - 10 H recently and there is no problem. Yesterday (August 12, 2012), I saw a warning from center of Toshiba it is has updated dated August 1, 2012, for BIOS and followed all the instructions until you reboot. Laptop not a not restart after you finish all the process successfully.

Closed and now I can't start. Downloaded the latest bios file in a usb port on the support site, but because it's the exe, I couldn't use it.

Any suggestions to save my new laptop?

For me, this looks like screw at the top of the BIOS.
I put t know whether you will be able to get this working again, but check it please http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=54395

  • No noise/driver does not work after BIOS update

Hey, I'm having a problem with my audio drivers. I have what I think is a HP P5RC - motherboard (I'm still not positive, because it was given to me, and I not found any precise identification on it), and I use the onboard sound on this subject. I've had versions of Windows 7 on this computer since the Release Candidate, and at the time I had to manually download the Realtek audio drivers to get the sound to work. I had to do the same thing when I got the full version of 7 Ultimate. After installing Win7, I had various problems. I was able to trace the problem down to the motherboard, but wasn't sure if it was a hardware or BIOS problem. I tried updating the BIOS to Bishop 3.08 since this page and found no big difference, apart from the fact that the sound did not work. I tried redownloading and installing Realtek drivers and restarted, but I still get all the sounds. What is another problem with the material of the motherboard, BIOS update problem or a driver problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    -AMV_Ph34r

Edit: I should probably note that I built the computer and used the motherboard that was given to me in this document is not an HP computer.

Edit 2: Another note - I have an Asus EAH3450 video card, which has a HDMI port on it. HDMI audio driver has two audio devices in the control panel and Device Manager. However, I do not have a compatible monitor HDMI, so I need the built-in sound card.

Because your video card can also function as a sound card you must go into the BIOS and change your sound option to 'Auto' (which is probably trying to use your card as the audio device video by default) for the on-board sound of motherboards.

  • Satellite X 200-20 s - LAN does not work after BIOS update

    Hi all

I've updated the BIOS version 2.7 and NIC LAN just disappeared from my list of device. The wireless network card works fine however. When I plug the ethernet cable, the green light turns orange not, so I guess that it is not broken, as it worked fine before the BIOS update.

I tried different drivers lan Windows XP and still nothing. Any ideas please?

    I have Windows 7 x 64 installed.

LAN option is listed in the BIOS boot menu?

If you have tested with Win7 and WXP maybe you should do finally test and install recovery image original Toshiba that you got with your laptop and see what happen when you use the laptop with the factory settings.

  • Satellite A300-20 b - Touchpad does not work after BIOS update

I've updated the BIOS on my Satellite A300-20 b latest version 2.00. Update succeeded, but when I rebooted system touchpad has stopped working.

I tried to find the solution, resettled drivers (windows XP system). In the Windows Device Manager there is no problem with Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad, I see. Software Synaptics shows no problem I can enable and disable the touchpad, but it does not work for the touchpad. I tried Linux live CD and in this system does not work as good touchpad. I think there is problem in this version of the BIOS.

Does anyone have the same problem?

    Hey Buddy,

Have you tried to turn the touchpad on or off if you press FN + F9? Check this please!
Also, try to load the default settings in the BIOS.

What happens if you connect an external mouse to the laptop? It work?

I can t imagine that the BIOS update causing this problem. If it doesn't work, you need to contact a service provider for help. They can check the touchpad and replace.
