  • On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

    Any help or advice appreciated

    Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

    > Its certainly not the battery as it was a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

the second problem is that the left mouse botton does not work, the work aside right very well. I went in the proprties to put it right, click on to, but who does not work either. I've updated the drivers but still nothing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • possible power problem

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 7865 has started to give me some power problems.  I followed the troubleshooting steps to

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788#n414

The first time it's happened that I noticed that the power light little would go as I connect the power cord to the back of the unit.  But the little green light and then returned.  After some tests, the power light remained on and I was able to turn on the pc.  However, it started again this morning so I finally took my monitor power cord and used this one to connect the power supply to the back of the computer and to a power outlet and it works.  I plug the pc power cord into the monitor and my monitor works too so I don't know if it is or is not the power cord, but I'll go out and get a new one and see if that solves all my problems.

However, my question is this... If the problem is with the power supply that I plug in can be replaced?  If so, it is something I can do myself or should I consider somewhere to do?  Also, if I need to replace the power supply and I can do it, how can I know what type of replacement power supply unit power I need to get and are there any other cables that I also need?

Thank you so much for all your help.

The information I found States 7865 HP is a Win98ME around 2001. The stock PSU is a Bestec 200W.

No, you cannot load or run the press card applications.

  • Satellite Pro U400 starts - power problem?

    Hey,.

my liquid U400 down without any reason and doesn't start anymore.
My first idea was damage from CPU, but even if the laptop is taken to power the power led does not illuminate.

    (1) make U400 notebook work normally when the battery is removed, but pluged in power? Because if not maybe only the battery is broken.
    (2) any other ideas? :)

Guarantee is more than 1 months :(

Answer to your question is YES. You can remove the battery and use your laptop with AC power only. In most PC stores showing the rooms are placed laptop without battery. Probably the batteries have been stolen in the past.
Anyway, they can run with AC power only.

When you connect the laptop to the power plug and the power light is not on I assume that there is a problem of electronic power supply.

  • With Satellite A30 power problems

    Hello

Over the last four years, I have been using a Satellite A30 with XP Pro... had no problems whats so ever until that last months... I started to notice the battery life becomes lower before (prob because of the decrease in battery life) but also when he is on the grid it will charge the battery to 100% but instead of power are removed from the sector It starts to drain the battery even when the sector is connected.

Another problem is that I have to keep or stop the laptop goes into hibernation mode so it can recognize it is powered from the battery to load... even in this case, it may take several attempts for the laptop to begin to charge the battery...

These problems started start after warranty, and was released in additional insurance coverage

Any information or help gladly appreciate it that I fight to get assignments done University

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi mate,

had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

I guess that the motherboard is gone...

    That's all

    See you soon

  • Power problem - at a loss

I'm scared, I'm at a loss and hoping a kind person on this forum can give me an advance?

Im working on a HP Pavilion dv6-1107AX having starting problems. Original problem was inconsistent or continuous beeps on start up and never reach not the window log.  After much dianostics and fiddle with that I was able to penetrate just do a CPU test software. Is it.  Unfortunately the rest of problems starting and I finally determined that the motherboard was faulty. Replaced the motherboard with a new one.

The problem is that it simply doesn't start at all - no beeps - nothing else, that all the lights on the Panel will light momentarily this disappear. The power adapter is good. I get a light to the cable connector, but not on the LED control panel.  Have now replaced the power under the switch button covers with a new one, but the symptoms remain the same.

I don't have another CPU to make an exchange of test, although the previous CPU test came as a positive result.

I am left thinking maybe I a (new) motherboard missed? Can anyone think of anything I might have missed it please?

    My thanks,

    Russ Swan

    Hello Russ_S,

I see that after the replacement of the card system, the laptop is not implemented at all. I will try to help you with this.

My first suggestion, you've replaced the motherboard would be to check all connections. Even if you did it once. If the RAM, disk HARD etc is not sitting correctly, you may have the problem you are experiencing. A few LED fan turns (if your East), but nothing else.

Aside from that, you can find something useful here: computer won't start (Windows 7, Vista, XP).

Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Power problems 4090 CDS

    Hi all
Im having serious problems with my 4090cds. It comes on good, when the battery is in but after about 30 minutes of operation, it shuts down and displays a flashing orange light.

It shows the same orange light flashing when I try to turn on without the battery, just of the PSU. It does not even attempt start until it shows just the orange flashing immediately.

Can someone help, it starts to get really annoying.
PS I don't think that this is a problem with the power supply or battery I used both in a satellite 300CDS and they work fine.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi neil

It is possible that the electronic power module is defective. If I understand you there is blinking orange light.

If the power supply microcontroller detects an error lamp DC In sends a blink code. This code is some hex codes and some technicians to service partner can read and declare what he can be.

  • Equium P300 - 16t power problems

My laptop Equium P300-16 t has suddenly stopped working. When it is connected, the power icon is always on view, but the battery icon has disappeared, and the battery icon when you press the power button flashes red for a few seconds before disappearing... it means I need a new battery?

I thought that the computer could work without the battery, if it was still not able to connect to a power supply via the power adapter? I just wanted to check before you buy a new battery, I don't want to spend £50 on something that is unnecessary, especially if I have to buy a new laptop.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

I don t think you need a new battery because the laptop should work without the battery only on the AC adapter.
I guess that this problem is related to the motherboard or components (RAM) on the motherboard.

    Guess what? Try this:
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
Now press the power button / 30 sec long. Connect the two parts, then try to turn on the unit.
To be honest I m not sure if this would help you but it s worth a try

If this does not help, delete one of the RAM modules and test the device using a module in each slot, but in the worst case it is a motherboard problem, and this should be verified by a Toshiba ASP

  • Charging battery and power problem problem.

The problem occurs only once I have start the load the laptop after that I used the battery for either a small or for a long period of time.

The battery will begin to charge and the laptop runs from the power supply for 5 minutes at a time. After that 5 minutes, the laptop switches the power source primary battery mode, even if the laptop is plugged.

Another 5 minutes after that, the primary energy source to switch back and the battery will begin charging again. It will constantly continue to do that, even when the laptop is turned off.

This is asif that is defective, however, is the second adapter I used and the same thing happens again. I tried looking in the power settings as much as possible and can't seem to find anything that can cause this problem.

Just today, I noticed that the battery light flashes sometimes white when the laptop has its power as the main primary energy source. I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem. I looked through the manual and support documents as possible and impossible to find a solution to this problem.

If the battery is low, when I start the laptop loading, that means I have to stop using my laptop, that this process will continue to arrive and finally the battery will stop and the laptop will be extended even if the plug is connected.

    Help, please!

    Hello

A friend of mine had a similar problem but on non-Toshiba laptop. The reasons because it is a dysfunction of the taken power there was a loose contact between the socket and the motherboard

The technician said that the motherboard needs to be replaced because it would be too difficult to solder this Jack once again

If the mobo was replaced, but it was a costly affair

Don't know if this could be the case even, but this looks a bit like the issue of power supply...

  • Satellite P10 power problem

    Satellite P10-317

    * Symptoms *:

External DC LED stays on, but battery LED turns OFF (from green or orange) and laptop running on battery power only (Toshiba Power Management panel says that it has external DC AND the battery runs down). Disconnect and reconnect external DC does not cure but put into hibernation and resume the battery LED lights up again and he fled the external domain controller. If no battery is not connected, laptop just dies. Unfortunately, the problem is very intermittent. The battery is new and normally charges/discharges.

    * Diagnosis * (tentative): the DC regulator on board is dying

    * Question *: does anyone have the circuit diagrams? (anyone else seen this problem & what is the cure?)

    Thank you

    Julian

    Hello

AFAIK this diagram is part of the maintenance manuals and is not a public document. Because of that I am quite skeptical that someone can help you with it. You can try to contact the nearest authorized service provider. They have these documents, and perhaps they are ready to help you.

    Make a call.

    Hello

Have you tried to recover the device? Is it possible to boot from the CD?
Well, otherwise I think you cannot solve this problem with the installation of any software.
I guess that it s a hardware malfunction, but it's not easy to say what part has a default.
It is maybe something wrong with the HARD drive or the motherboard.
In this case, the best idea is to contact the ASP.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

The power adapter is connected and if so you see the power/charge led on?

    Have you tried another outlet?

Are you plugged directly in wall or is the laptop plugged into a power bar?

Have you tried a different power adapter, if you have a compatible available?
