How to go online with this 4090XCDT Satellite with Win 98
I have done with my laptop end of fathers, but have no idea if I can get online with it or how do I know? I have the old windows 98 disk so assume it's about it.
Any help would be appreciated. I know its old, he died in 2000, but no idea of what he used to.

Is there a network port on the laptop? If this isn't the case, you could buy a PCMCIA or USB network card, so you can plug the cable DSL. Or if it has a built-in modem, you can connect using Dialup (telephone).
Win98 should be fine, you just need to install Firefox 1.x or Internet Explorer update.
Recently, I received the new Satellite Pro P200 HD of Getech. I asked Getech to change the XP operating system because my University will not support Vista. I was told that some features are lost with XP, such as the hot key utility and I agreed to go ahead.
However, I was not informed that the sound is scratchy and the video will behave as if I play a scratched CD. It is true with windows sounds as well. I was not able to enjoy the music or video. I have all the drivers updated and the new Bios XP released recently has been updated.
Please does anyone know someone using this model with XP as an operating system with the sound and video works properly? This would mean that I was sold a laptop with a defective sound equipment and should get a replacement because I had this problem from day one.

I just got this laptop and I wonder if the screenshot works? It's on the same key as the 'end' key but I don't know exactly how do so that the work is part "prtsc"... any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Tagged PRTSC is blue? If yes then you have to use the FN key to get this feature so CTRL + FN + END should work ;)

The material is beautiful but the software windows 8 Basic is a piece of rubish, I am a user of heavy computer that I need to run several virtual machines in my current laptop a dell xps 15 in a normal day, I have 2 windows xp + linux + windows 7.
I spent my day yesterday trying to get work, virtualbox or vmware player on windows 8 on this laptop and it does not work at all, can someone please tell me if you are using software virtualization on this laptop? and if you are what is the trick?
How enable us virtualization on this laptop?

I an A10 Pro of the Satellite with Win XP Pro installed and cannot access the power settings. When I go into the power settings in Windows, I get a msg telling me to use Toshiba Power Saver and Win power settings are grayed out. I installed pwrsav-spa10-xp-60007-.zip which tells me that it is installing the Toshiba Power Saver, but always Win power settings are greyed out and I can't find no separate application "Toshiba Power Saver". The BIOS shows ' version of BIOS ACPI = 1.30. Can someone advice how to change the power settings please? Thnx.

You have the "Toshiba common Modules" installed? They must first of all for many models of Toshiba, and power settings module is an add-on for that.
If you do not have the appropriate restoration or the utility CD handy, the drivers can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba website.
In certain circumstances I encounter or have the impression that his 'escapes' to the screen which, in my view, is not appropriate behavior. However, this phenomenon is not continuous and never appears while the laptop is not on the table (i.e. subwoofer is not horizontal)

I put t know what sound behavior do you mean exactly, but it turns out that the Satellite X 200 laptop is equipped with the Realtek sound nursery. You can find the settings in the control panel.
This Realtek audio Manager control and sound effects, Dolby Home Theater sound configurations and configuration of additional speakers.
These options affect the sound quality and the acoustic perception.

More or less you can not because quite simply is not how the explosion of e-mail are designed. Since users can block all kinds of things to their customers of e-mail for security reasons, you need to do without the widgets and other fantasies. Virtually every bit of data should be "inline", i.e. all scripts and CSS definitions must be in the page code, images on a server that is simple or embedded in the mail. Unfortunately, this isn't how Muse works, so unless you care to do manual work extensivce to adjust your code after it has been published you are essentially using the wrong tool.
Someone can advise or recommend including many different programs available that I must use to capture (record) streaming video online with it's associated audio on El Capitan? I tried MacX DVD Converter Pro, but believe it or not, it does not record the audio aspect of video stream. They claim there is a work around, but after 3 days of trying various corrections, none seems to work for me.
I tried the Safe Mode Terminal command string: turn off the csrutil. restart, but which did not allow audio capture of MacX DVD Converter Pro driver to install their Audio System driver.
I tried sudo nvram boot-args = "kext-dev = 1 mode" method, but then again, playback of the recorded video was silent, even though I have heard the audio during recording. "
I downloaded SOUNDFLOWER, but again, I have heard audio when the screenshot, but Quicktime playback was silent.
I have hard to believe after that 3 days I am still unable to record what I see and hear at the same time on my screen a video streaming like a Charlie Rose interview with Martin Scorcese discussing Felini. I don't like what it costs; I care only about the easy, professional and perfect results. One of the two reasons why I BOUGHT this iMac 27 "with El Capitan was so I COULD record streaming video with audio if I choose so, and after a month, I still can't do and I ran out of the online help after searching dozens of sites to find answers! A web page can be defined a "accesskey" for an item. Unlike IE/Chrome/Safari, who use the Alt key only, Firefox requires pressing Alt and Shift to activate the element. In other words, try
ALT + SHIFT + S
and see if it works.

When I try to scan with my CanoScan N640P ex scanner I receive a message indicating the Port to the printer that is used by another device. How can I work around this problem?

1. did you of recent changes on the computer?
2. to when was the last time the scanner was working fine?
3. you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer?
If you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer, disconnect them and check if it works.
I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the scanner to the computer, also make sure that you install the latest drivers for scanner on Canon website.
This connection is established using a desktop with Win 7 pc. Connection is made by a TP-Link ADSL2 + modem/router - TD8817 through TPG as ISP.
I sifted through all the drivers that the wonderful site of Dell provides, using the service number, and downloaded and installed some that might be correct. But Device Manager still shows Broadcom USH and Ethernet controller as having no driver. Both show manufacturer as 'Unknown', so that the rendering difficult to find the correct drivers. Of course, by clicking on 'Update Driver' cannot work that the laptop is not online.
Any help would be appreciated because I spent hours a lot so far to try to solve this problem and be able to use this powerful laptop on my home broadband.
