• Smartphones blackBerry for phone dialing keyboard froze

  It's probably nothing wrong with the phone, but something I did.  I had the phone in my pocket and when I tried to make a call, I couldn't have the numbers to arrive on the screen as I normally do during a call.  I thought the keyboard everything was locked, so I did what is needed to unlock.  Although, it freezes unless I hit the red button at the top right.

  To add to the above, you will need to override the methods "automatic" which will use the foregoing. Left alone, the "automatic" methods will offer only you OS packages sanctioned by the carrier for which your BB was built (under the VendorID on the device). But, you are not limited only to those... the easiest is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

  • You need to dig through this portal to find carriers that support your model but also to compare their different OS packages that are available.

  (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.   I could appreciate this feature if there was a way to toggle it on and off but I can't find anything. I want the audio to come back to my phone... and not hear my ringtones in my earpiece... It also constantly drains my battery from the headset, as it is always on now.

  Guess I have solved my problem... After playing with the bluetooth options, I had to disable profile for the audio source services. The only problem with this, is now, it will not play music or movies via the headphones when I want to.

  I'm having a very disappointing time with my new Blackberry 9700 I could really use help with it please.

  Following the installation wizard, I arrived to the e-mail configuration. The ONLY option is to enter an address associated with an Enterprise Server. There is no option to choose my Gmail account.

  After this step, I was hoping to find an alternative to get where I needed to be, but does not (at least none that I could find). Then I tried to upgrade my device software, which I did. So I am now under v5.0.0.405. Still no icon for the configuration of email in the settings window.

  I even tried to install Google Sync, but there is no hanging at "first login".

  I was really hoping it would be a lot easier than what I've heard great things about BB. I come from a Windows Mobile, so eager to get this resolved.

  How I fixed that finally had to manually remove each enrty on my BB calendar.  "Tried this thru Desktop version 6.0 by a deletion of data of calendar items and has not been successful."  Once I manually deleted all entries on the BB, and the entry of corrupt outlook has also been removed then sync like a champion...

  Please note that I have not always made round-trip my outlook calendar synchronization was always at the forefront.   Sorry if you wipe your outlook :-(

  Click the icon for your profile and scroll down to the tip. Then select the profile you want to edit. You will see then a whole list of things that you can change the alert for. For example, click on "phone". Your first setting is "off the case". This means that you don't have the phone mode "sleep" or in an approved Holster BB. You can change this voice against zero which means no warning at all. Tone would be your choice of ringtone. Vibe and ring would vibrate THEN ring. Vibrate is vibrate. Next option is tune. You can select a preloaded ringtone, or if you want to choose a song that you downloaded browse choose music, and song. Then is volume. Low medium high climbing or none. Then repeat the notification is none or flashing LED. When turned on your status light flashes red for a long time after you have missed a call. This works for other alerts as well. Then there is the number of vibrations before the song starts 1, 2 or 3. But you do not consider that if you do not use vibrate. So you want to change the setting for in case as well.   There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

  Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

  The toughest possible causes are an app behave badly. Fortunately, the error itself pointing you the problem... Twitter. I recommend that remove you / reinstall to see if that helps.
