  Last week I bought a Toshiba TV, type 40TL938G, and I have two major problems that bother me a lot.

  Today, I talked to the call center of Toshiba in Romania.
  I would like to tell me if the future this problems can be resolved or I will be forced to sell, because this TV does not meet my expectations.

  So, the first problem is that if I want to browse the net on some movie sites and I can't really see, which is very, very annoying for me.

  The Toshiba call centre guy told me that it is because the browser does not support the viewing of any movie, but does not seem right that Samsung, LG and Sony have solved these problems and Toshiba specialists not far.

  It is a very bad publicity for Toshiba TVs and if my friends and my clients ask me if I am happy with the Toshiba products, I can only say that I am not really satisfied.

  The second problem that bother me much and I'm unhappy is still once the package and TV features is written that this TV supports MKV files but nowhere and nobody wrote that support Toshiba TV MKV files but not sound because the sound does not work.

  I tried to do an update of firmware for this model, but not exist.

  It is possible quickly solve these two problems? If these problems don't have solutions, I'll have to sell and make a bad publicity for Toshiba products, because I'm THERE the dealer and I have a lot of customers and I don't want to lie to my clients on the defects in the product.

  MKV files are supported. But mkv files must support audio codec right!

  Sorry mate that you are missing some features but it turns out that it's a TV browser and it may work differently from PC browsers. The manual says that this browser does not support dependent on the platform of technologies such as Active X, and she argues that preinstalled plugins.
  If the plugin flash isn t preinstalled you won't be able to watch the flash based content.

• My music volume fades whenever a new program start sound playback

  I first noticed while listening to music. I used foobar2000 v0.9.6.3 and every time I had a cat facebook or google talk message in Chrome 5 my music got quieter.   Try this then...

  1. open Device Manager.

  2. locate your audio driver.

  3. right click and uninstall the driver.

  4. go to the toolbar in the Device Manager and select "Search for hardware changes."

  5 once completed, restart the laptop.

  What doesn't work, try the same steps, but instead select "Search the hardware changes", try to use this download driver I've linked to you in the previous post.

  Get back to me and let me know if any of these work for you.

  You can go to control panel of control-> Sound-> playback and should choose digital output as a default device.

  I have tried everything regarding this issue, lost 12 hours of research and asking everyone... I hope that you will give me the answer. I tried to install the drivers for different processor, Intel based, each time nothing, I have a controller, video, audio and Conexant smartaudio HD game.

  I also tried letting windows install their own driver. Windows Media Monitor... I have this case HDMI is shown but gray color, as there is nothing plugged. When I click Properties it says that everything is ok and active... so thank you for reading this. If you know another way to activate the sound via HDMI, I would be very grateful.

  I checked the Toshiba download page and I can see your Qosmio machine is supported for Win7 64 bit and I think that you are using this version.
  I see ago offered all the important factors like driver chipset driver driver sound or display, so I hope everything works out well and there is no reason for experiences drivers.

  I would like to know if there is a problem when you use your machine without connect anything to it? is everything is OK with the material? You hear the sound on the internal speakers or headphones?

  To your HDMI issue: can you please explain what you are trying to do exactly?
  Are you trying to use your Qosmio with TV or what? When you open the properties of the sound > playback devices have tried to activate the listed device output digital (HDMI) and set its default value?

  By the way:
  Click on the volume icon in the taskbar and click mixer.
  Digital output is listed here? Check it out in the operative part of the option. Make sure that is not set to mute.

  Play a little with all these settings to make sure that everything is OK.

  Looks like a malfunction of the internal speaker for me.

  But have you checked the sound settings?
  Go to control panel of-> sound-> playback and check the available devices.
  The speakers in this tab? And if so, the speakers are marked as default device?

  In addition it s worth it to reinstall the audio driver.
  I guess its Realtek sound card.

  So uninstall the driver audio Realtek (Control Panel-> programs) & features-> Realtek High definition audio driver.
  Go to Device Manager and remove the device (Intel audio display) in the region:
  Controller audio, video and game.
  Do the same in the area system devices: here to remove the entry: controller high definition audio.

  So finally reboot the device.
  After restarting again, windows system should recognize the devices automatically deleted.
  Wait that the devices have been installed. Now test the sound.
  If you would get not all sounds through the speakers, or via a headset, install the driver Realtek audio.

  But if this is not enough, I recommend to contact the service provider to check the speakers
