T, you can download or reinstall the CD/DVD driver because it s a part of the OS (operating system).
It would be interesting if the BIOS can detect the drive. Please check this box.
It would also be interesting if you have an error as the #19 error message. This is known and a search around the forum.

CD/DVD drive is not detected, the disc is missing or disconnected
Well I have not tried to play anything or anything either burning on my laptop in a while and all of a sudden is not working more I followed suggestions on the microsoft site, but when I went into Device Manager to check on my drive anywhere it lists same CD-ROM/dvd-rom I'm so confused, I don't know what I tried to use microsoft not fixed and it's just as stuck as I am all he tells me it is than its disconnected or missing and cannot be found.
Oh and while I'm asking questions my sound stopped working a few months back the small volume in the lower right corner icon has an 'x' next to him now and he says: no audio output device is installed, I tried following the suggestions online for this with no luck either. I hope that its not anything internal since I just had the motherboard replaced by a few months before this happened
Thank you very much I hope you can help!
Hello
Well it still might be hardware or wiring.
Restart to make sure that nothing is inteferring with the process.
Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Please ALL these even if you've done it before as it's often the total process that

CD/DVD drive is not detected.
For some reason my CD/DVD drive is more functional. I can't even eject the disc that is in it and it does not recognize. I have searched for corrections and so far all I've done was to remove the filter lower and upper filters in the registry. I'll try to uninstall and reinstall this drive, but I can't even find on device manager
Any help would be appreciated... Thank you!
Here is the solution I mentioned earlier. Good luck and thank you Greg!
I thought I had posted the solution. The upper and lower filters need to be refreshed. Here is a solution I found on the Adobe forums. http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/402/kb402306.html
Refresh the CD and DVD drivers list in the Windows registry.
Warning: The registry contains information on the system that are critical to your computer and applications. Before editing the registry, be sure to make a backup of it. Adobe does not provide support for problems that result from incorrectly modifying the registry. Adobe strongly recommends that you have experience editing system files before you modify the registry. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor, see the Windows documentation or contact Microsoft Technical Support.
To refresh the CD and DVD drivers list in the Windows registry:
Important: After you refresh the list of drivers in the Windows registry, you may need to reinstall any other CD or DVD on your computer to write applications. If you restart Windows after this procedure and other burning CD or DVD applications do not recognize the CD or DVD drive, and then reinstall those applications.
- Uninstall your Adobe application.
- Open the Registry Editor:
- On Windows 2000 and XP: click Start > run. Type regedit in the box text open, and then click OK.
- On Windows Vista: Click Start. Type regedit in the search text box, and then press ENTER.
- In the left pane of the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class and select the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} key, which appears as a folder.
- Select file > export (Windows XP and Vista) or registry > export a file from the registry (Windows 2000).
- In the export registry file dialog box, select the branch selected under export range, name the file (for example, CDDVDkey.reg) and click Save to save the file to the desktop.
- In the Panel to the right of the registry editor, select the LowerFilters line, and then choose the editing command > delete. Click Yes in the dialog box confirm deleting key.
- Select the UpperFilters line, and then choose the editing command > delete. Click Yes in the dialog box confirm deleting key.
- Close the registry editor.
- Open the Device Manager:
- On Windows 2000 and XP: click Start > Control Panel. Double-click the system icon, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
- On Windows Vista: Click Start > Control Panel, double-click System, and then click Device Manager in the task pane.
- Click on the symbol more then to CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.
- For each listed DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive, select the icon then choose Action > uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Windows will automatically detect and reinstall your CD-ROM or DVD - ROM drives. You can check that the drives are installed in the device (see step 9) Manager. If the drives are not present, open Device Manager and choose Actions > Scan for hardware changes.
- Reinstall your Adobe application.
- Restart Windows.
Important: If this solution doesn't solve the problem with the application you reinstalled, then you must restore the CD and DVD drivers list in the Windows registry.
To restore the exported CD and DVD drivers list:
- Double-click the registry key that you exported.
- Close the registry editor.
Restart Windows.

DVD drive does not detect DVD satellite 1900-303
My CD-RW/DVD drive refuses to read DVDs, acting as if there is no disc in the drive, no matter what I try. I have not used the machine regularly in a while and just starting to discover this.
It also has a problem with burning discs, if it is of no interest. I bought a lens cleaner, but it won't work because the laptop still does not recognize the disc. Also, I've never fiddled with the control of the region and have already tried reinstalling the driver, but to no avail.
It's a S1900-303, the number of model PS192E-00G1N-EN.
Any help that anyone can give is much appreciated, it's really annoying.Thank you very much.
Hello guys
First of all if there are problems with burning CD or DVD, you will need to test different CD or DVD. Not all CD or DVD is compatible and can be used in the drive.
That's why check different CD/DVD from different manufacturers. But if the drive is not able to burn or play a CD/DVD, so I assume that the reader has a malfunction and only the replacement of the device could help.
@Judith: unit you seems to be new and the guarantee must cover replacing the drive.
But before you contact the ASP in your country, check the different media.
In the user manual a list with compatible and tested the CD and the DVD. -

My CD/DVD drive will not appear in the Device Manager, but present in the BIOS.
DevCon didn't find it. It will not open even if I don't get to Device Manager and check for changes to the system. I deleted the registry entries upper and lower limit. Any other suggestions? For additional emphasis, he does not show even in the Manager of devices so I cannot restore or reinstall the drivers from there. It might also help that I use Vista Home Premium on a Compaq Presario F755us.
Hello
(1) does the BIOS see the main hard disk drive or a secondary hard drive?
(2) remember to make changes to the computer before the show?
You know may not be not that most systems are set to show only the splash screen. If you go into the BIOS Setup, it should show the disks that have been detected on two primary and secondary IDE channels.
Note: the basic procedure to change the setting of the disk controller is to restart your computer and enter the system BIOS. The most common method is to press F2 to enter Setup, (another PC may use a different key). On the BIOS screen, find the setting that offers the AHCI, ATA or IDE and RAID. If the parameter is set to AHCI, change the setting to ATA. Restart the PC on the Windows installation disc
Warning: Incorrect settings in the system BIOS can cause your PC function incorrectly. If you are not familiar with the configuration of the BIOS of the system, you must contact the PC manufacturer for assistance.
Try the steps in the following article and check if it helps.

Toshiba cd/dvd drive will not read or eject or anything like that!
Cd/dvd driver for my Toshiba laptop will not work. It lasted about a year, then he became gradually sporadic to read/write or ejection and by last winter, he stopped all together. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for it, and in Device Manager, it says that the device is functioning normally; every once in a blue moon it will suddenly eject, but then if you put something in nothing happens, even not with the original disks. With the repair utility, it says something like unreadable media, at best. I'm a little confused as to what is happening here, so, what steps should I take to verify if it is indeed the drive disc or something in the software?
Thanks, Bruce

Hello
Well you have studied the issues pretty well. Could be material.
You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)

correctly.A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser. Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.===============================
Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car. Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as

Satellite 2430: CD/DVD drive does not work - i/o error
Hello all Toshiba people.i have recently bought a Toshiba Satellite 2430 for a very good price. One thing the carpet * a DVD - ram Uj - 810 drive does not work when I put in any type of cd or dvd, I get this error
F:\ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an i/o error.I talked to my local computer Wizz and does everything that he suggested to the letter and still the same problem. He suggested updating the bios drivers and the only way to do that is on a disk drive that she cannot take the an or a CD or dvd drive is not working. Can you please help me!
Begging you a lot
Michael BorgerIn my view BIOS update will not change.
I assume that the reader has worked in the past with the same BIOS version
It is a drive hardware problem or some registry keys are corrupt.I think that it s a hardware malfunction may be a matter of lenses.
But try this;
Remove the drive from Device Manager and shut the laptop computer. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again. Then you can check the functionality.Otherwise, you can remove the disk from the laptop, and then start the laptop without the drive. Then stop the laptop, put the drive in the notebook and start over.
The firmware should again loads. But if these procedures help t, I don t see it differently as for replace the drive

CD/DVD drive does not read discs on Equium A100
My cd/dvd drive does not read any discs be it, white, written or commercially written. It opens and closes and is light to show that he is working on. Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning properly.
Tried the update of drivers, no update available. Tried restoring the system back 1 day and 1 week and 1 month, then and still the problem cannot be corrected. When I put a cd/dvd in the drive and try to access it, it says: D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
Can someone help me I tried everything my friends and I can think, or is it better to send just to toshiba warranty.
If the solution proposed by James will not help, you should try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager.
After phone restart the operating system will recognize and initialize the disk again.
After this review of the procedure if you can read, write the middle. -
Second hard drive is not detected
Hi, I bought an ssd to replace the hard drive of my acer e5 571g 50ns.
Using a desktop computer, I transfer the os and oem SSD partiton.
Because the laptop have a fake cd/dvd player I bought an adapter 2.5 ".
So, I put the ssd sata port where before there was the hard drive and put the hard drive into the adapter port sata cd/dvd.
When turning on pc the ssd is detected and it works perfectly, but the old hard drive is not detected. He is not shown in Device ManagerAs the garancy struck down, using my campus license, I installed windows 10 removal of the oem partitions.
Now my acer works perfectly with ssd and hdd.
