  Thank you for your message.  I looked at your other threads and have a few steps for you to try.  The following steps are to repair a Windows XP installation.

  Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive.  For more information on how to do this, refer to your computer documentation or contact the manufacturer of your computer. Insert your Windows XP installation CD, and then restart your computer.

  1.	When the message Press any key to boot from the CD appears on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
  2.	When you see the message to install Windows XP nowand then press ENTER is displayed on the Welcome to the Setup screen, press ENTER.
  3.	Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.
  4.	In the Windows XP licensing agreement, press F8 to accept the license agreement.
  5.	Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
  6.	Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

  Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  My photosmart 5514 is set up wireless.  When I try to put my Dell desk top with Vista Home Premium 68 pending, I get a message that the driver for the WSP device prevents goiing pending and I am encouraged to communicate with the manufacturer which is HP.  I also have a problem that the scan function can only scan to my laptop and not on my desk even if both are on the same network I don't know if the two probs are related.  I tried several times to update or reinstall the drivers from HP website of HP and from the drive.  The issue (s) outstanding. I can bypass the prob of scan but not the prob of sleep.

  I read your post on how you're looking to restore the sound on your desktop when you watch YouTube videos, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

  Are you able to hear the sound using other programs, such as Windows Media Player or other sites that stream media? You are able to hear the sound of a set of connected headhones?

  In the meantime, I recommend that you follow the steps described in this document on the no sound on speakers (Windows 8). This will help you configure your desktop computer to play audio when watching YouTube videos.

  In addition, I also offers by following the steps below:

  Step 1. Make sure that the video is not muted in YouTube and Facebook.
  Step 2. Close all open Internet Explorer Windows
  Step 3. Office Open Internet Explorer. Go to tools, Internet Options
  Step 4. Select the "Advanced" tab
  Step 5. Scroll down to the 'Multimédia' heading
  Step 6. Make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is checked
  Step 7. Click on 'OK '.
  Step 8. Restart Internet Explorer. A test to see if the sounds will play now

  If you have a printer connected to your computer, you can share it with anyone on the same network. No matter what type of printer you have, as it is installed on your computer and is directly connected with a USB cable or other type of printer cable. The people from that your choice to share the printer will be able to use it to print, as long as they first locate your computer on the network.

  Printers that are directly connected to a network and not connected to a computer are available to anyone on the same network. These printers must have a network port or wireless connection that allows them to connect directly to the network.

  Check the display driver for power management problems.

  Method 1

  Check if allow this device to wake the computer is checked in the Device Manager.

  a. click Start, type Device Manager in the start search box and press ENTER.

  b. Select graphics cards, it will display your display driver, right click and select Properties.

  d. check the allow this device to wake the computer check box.

  I like 1 million others have a HP image desk top which freezes at least once a day. Can stop only manually switch off operation. I paid for it professionals focus on the machine and have run all kinds of controls. Hardware checks out and don't know any software problems. MEM. withdraws. Reading a hundred or more complaints of the people and demand to help and do not seem to be many solutions. Also, I have a hp with xp on it and never froze. Does anyone take any responsibility and actually address the issue. Or is there a whole bunch of reasons this computer and like those that freeze, being a matter of mutiple problem. It's a huge pain having this computer freezes all the time. It said check the power, they say, check the mem. sticks. Told driver problems, another software conflict, another says cables from the hard drive, another computer running too hot, the other, problems of register, another card viedo problem, another problem of motherboard. Now why all the xp and older computers had this problem run wild as these most recent have. all of the suggestions.

  I have a hp 8core and it would lock up or give me blue screens. at the end of the day, I opened the file and did my house fan 12 inches in the case and it solved the problem. the case of hp, I got one fan and a cooling tower with another; but it is not enough to cool the processor.   Okay, so I recently had a new Inspiron 660 and everything was going so well... until I went on YouTube. No sound came out at all, I quickly realized that I didn't have same speakers hooked up to it (brain PET), so for a quick fix, I went to retrieve my headphones. I plugged them into my computer, and what I was rewarded with? Nothing. So far I have not been able to get any sound out. Nothing appears when I plug in the headphones and the 'Sound' section there's no help whatsoever. I tried several different sets of headphones and headsets. Nothing has worked so far, I tried plugging in a couple speakers another phone to see if I could make it work there and still nothing.   I understood the problem for me in any case, that maybe it's not the problem for you. In any case, on the back of my monitor is a headphone jack and it turns, the office tries to use it as a default output for the sound. So, here's where I put my headphones for a sound to come out.   My counter top is an Acer Aspire M5201 64 bit machine I had no problem with all running Windows 7.  I changed to Windows 8 Pro in December and it has worked flawlessly and I was very happy until April.  After several updates Microsoft my machine started to freeze and I have to restart.  However, it would not restart due to no video input.  I've tried several things, change the cable DVI to VGA, unplug the machine and leave for half an hour the tour is played it will return but crashes during the first boot.  If I reboot a second time it lights without problem.  I thought I had managed to solve this problem, but I was put under my computer when I'm away from the desk top.  Today, the phone rang and he entered mode 'sleep' and I couldn't put it back on.  I have consulted many people here in the past about this issue and one solution was to change the parameters of quick start.  It worked but not anymore.  I did different things to my computer to try sorting, but they are all in without success.  I've got rid of Trusteer report on recommendation and dumped loads of temporary files.  I learned that Kaspersky is in conflict with Windows 8 and so on.  Kaspersky has come to me several things that were at the origin of the problems. I have Kaspersky ran for several years and have had no problems with it and I recently renewed my license.  To be honest I really tired performance of my machine as Windows 8 pro has been installed, I ran the following:-
