Space after...

I know this is possible because I learned to do a year ago, but I do not remember how

I have a page of paragraphs, and I understand how to use the space according to designate the amount of space to leave between each paragraph.

However, in each of my paragraphs, I've indented, of bulleted items.

Which means, I "returns" within each paragraph, which means 'space after' that happens after every 'back' rather than just at the end of each paragraph.

What should I do so that I'm in control of this?

Thank you

Marion

There are two kinds of breaks, you can apply at the end of the line, a 'return' or paragraph break, using the key, or a return of 'soft' (forced line break) using SHIFT + ENTER.

Single BUTTON triggers a new paragraph, as well as any shape or "next style" that goes with it. The forced line break starts a new line, but the paragraph is not finished, so you do not get any format changes.

I don't know if that really addresses the problem, however. If might be more advisable to have some additional styles that allow you to have a paragraph without a space after, followed by a bulleted paragraph. It is impossible, for example, to set a withdrawal of negative coherent on the portion bulleted paragraph as part of a style, unless it's a separate paragraph. You can use a hyphen to the marker here, but there is no way that I know to stop the dash after that before the end of the paragraph, so you can't text not indented after the element bulleted in the same paragraph, if you do this.

    How can I remove all but 2015 to 2016 photos from my iPhone (ios10.0.2) for free space, after synchronizing all the photos on my mac (Yosemite 10.10.5) computer?

    The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner. Place your finger on the first complete line, you want to remove (if you have pictures that do not have a complete row that you want to remove these institutions, select them individually first), slide your finger on the line so that they are all selected, and then slide up so that it starts automatically at your old photos of scrolling. Once the photos you want to delete are selected, press the trash in the lower right. This will move them to your album "Recently deleted", then they will be always on your phone for 30 days, unless you remove them. If you are sure that you have already backed up these photos and does not accidentally still photos you want, feel free to remove them.

  • How can I change the default settings of the line spacing in Word Pad to: unique, space no space after a paragraph

    I need to change the default line spacing values to: simple space and NO space after a point, but it doesn't seem to be a way for that.
    Thanks for the tips.

    Press Ctrl + A to select your entire file, and then click the paragraph Options (the button at the bottom right in the paragraph on the Home tab group). Uncheck "Add 10pt space after paragraphs."

    To create new documents this setting is already selected, follow these steps:
    1 - Create a new empty file, then follow the steps above to disable the spacing option.
    2 - save the file in the folder C:\Windows\ShellNew with a file name as "new WordPad file.
    3 - follow the steps on this support page to create a link from the context menu to create a new file based on this template: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/140333

  • Muse white space after the body, but before the page footer

    I just changed with almost a complete rewrite of my site and published it in http://www.lowerphotography.com and all is well except for the HOME page. The change was to take advantage of the new sensitive design which is very neat. Before the change of the HOME page was fine. I watched other observations of white space and made sure everything looked good... not hidden things that I could find. The master page works on all pages of the site. But the HOME page after the body and before the footer has this big white/background space after footer. I don't think it's in the master page as it works for all pages I can say. The homepage has texts and pictures on it and a link to another site. But nothing shows that the cause for me. With all the time I've spent on this site a little "bug" which is just a pain trying to get the HOME page to look really good. Suggestions please?

    You can try the solutions in the following positions?

  • "Space after" does not seem to be working properly

    Hi all! I have the text that has a few paragraphs and some points of the ball. I want space 'after' each element are the same. I made this a million times. But for some reason, this time, the spacing is not correct. Below each point of the bullet, it is correct. But after paragraphs, it's a much bigger space. I tried ignores all compensation. I broke the links to all styles, thinking that maybe there was a hidden style in there. Who am I not check? "Space after" is the same... I selected in the text box and made sure. And the font size is the same throughout. It's driving me crazy!

  • Why Fm deletes space after the xref in xml files?

    One solution is to put in a non-breaking space, but which could affect a way unwanted line breaks.

    This discussion should be moved to the structured FrameMaker forum.

    According to me, that there is a bug in the management of the RemoveExtraWhiteSpacesOnXMLImport implementation in maker.ini. This setting is designed to condense the sequences of spaces used in documents automatically printed XML to a single space. It seems to remove space after a reference as well. If you have control over the XML you read and that you can avoid these white space (or other situations in which the entry can have additional spaces), the best solution is to set this flag OFF.

    What FM version do you use? I don't remember if this bug has been fixed in FM 2015.

  • What happened to single space after a period?

    I don't see the option to keep me out two spaces after a period in 2015 of FrameMaker. Of course I can get spell check to fix it later, but it was an option previously to convert double spaces spaces simple while I type. I think this has also worked in mid-sentence too.

    It is a specific setting of the document. Open the document and go to > Format > Document > text Options...

    The "Text Options" dialog box appears. Select 'Smart spaces' and click 'apply '. FrameMaker will now prevent you from typing in two normal spaces after the other:

    Please note that this does not protect you insert two spaces for example via search/replace.

  • Using the baseline grid and 'space after' for formatting

    I use InDesign CC on a MacBook Pro of the retina. I'm designing a document and you want to use a reference grid to align the text. I would like also to use the option "space after" in the definition of a paragraph style. I use the type of 10 points on the line spacing by 15 points. "Space after" is defined as 7.5 points.

    If I try to apply both database grid orientation and the specification of "space after", I basically lose my pt 7.5 defined "space after" a lot more space because the wells of the first line of the following paragraph to the reference grid line below. I find myself essentially with 22.5 pt instead of 7.5 pt.

    These two incompatible functions or y at - there a way around that I don't know?

    Thanks for any advice.

    There is no way around it. Best is to calculate your different leading.

    space before and space after values so that everything falls on a

    base line. In this way you avoid having to rely on "Align on the baseline." You

    can also turn on "skip dragging ' in Preferences > Composition if

    you have graphics with dressing in them.

  • Simple? How do you want 'INSERT' function to return the empty space after a field?

    All,

    I just have a PET of brain? I have a situation where I have a field that must return a single space, with a value that has a space before and after it.

    Example:

    In the text == > I'm < field > go to the office. <-notice no space between the two am, < field > and will

    I mean if set to FALSE, then "I am * not * going to the office."
    If true, then "I go to the office."

    If it is true, I am just RETURN(""); <-this returns a blank space

    If FALSE, I tried:

    RET = 'no '.
    RETURN ("" & ret & "");

    This property returns "I am notgoing to UNRWA. <-don't notice any empty space after the 'no '?

    I tried

    RET = 'no ';
    RET2 = ("" & ret);
    RETURN (Insert (ret2, 3, ""));

    Always the same result. What is strange, that is, if I do a RETURN (Insert (ret2, * 2 *, "")); then he comes back "I'm not tgoing to office" <-note the space between the "o" and the "t"?

    Ideas?

    I forgot about it. Depending on which version you use, DAL actually supported a function that will make the hard space for you, like this:

    Val = FLOAT (160) & 'not' & CHAR (160)
    Return (Val)

    Semaphores are sharable resources who take a non-negative integer value. They are manipulted by the P (waiting) and V (signal) functions that decrement and increment the semaphore, respectively. When a process needs a resource, a "waiting" is issued and the semaphore is decremented. When the semaphore contains a value of zero, the resources are not available and the calling process turns or blocks (if applicable) until resources are available. When a process opens a resource controlled by a semaphore, it increments the semaphore and the waiting process are advised.

  • Space after paragraph: how picas equal to an empty line in Garamond 7.5 regular?

    I use Indesign CC and want to add a blank line after each paragraph in my document. I discovered how to do this, but the only unit I am offered is picas. I could probably go to inches, but who does not really help me. My main text is written in font Garamond regular 7.5 size and I would like to have the empty space after each paragraph that is equal to an empty line written in this font with this size. How to do if find a blank line with the font settings much is? I guessed and it seems to be equal to 0p 7, but it would be great if I could make without guessing blindly. I'm happy for any help.

    By default, InDesign assigns leading at 120% of the font size. If you have not changed which, you'll notice in the control bar that your policy is 7.5 and spacing is (9). (When shown in parenthesis it denotes that a default value is used.) You could have a paragraph style that make 7.5, 10.5 lead and it would display the 10.5 without parentheses).

    For the space after you want, in the paragraph Style game your space according to 9pt.

    space-after.png

    Hi, I have a problem with the function "space after".

    As you can see on this image, the first line, the title, should send the following text, 10 points below.

    But all the browsers I test, they ignore this rule 'css '...

    Safari, Firefox, Chrome on Mac. THAT IS TO SAY 10.0.9

    Hi Dandalo,

    There is a bug in Muse that allows you to define negative fill even if it is not valid in CSS.

    You have - 1 left padding applied to the headline that makes the complete filling CSS disabled.

    If change you it to 0, which should solve the problem. You can continue to use the negative first line indent.

    I hope this helps.

  • Need a space after < / keyword >

    FrameMaker 11

    DITA 1.2

    I have problems with the keyword references. It was the same problem that I had with my variables from FrameMaker, I have abandoned in favour of a "cleaner" pure DITA solution. When I insert a conkeyref as in the the shortdesc everything seems in good condition.

    < shortdesc > you can increase the size of your < keyword conkeyref = "Keywords/prodcut_name" > < / keyword > by adding the drive additional units if you run out of disk space. < / shortdesc >

    Once I've saved the file, close it and reopen it, the space after < / keyword > is deleted so that it reads < / keyword > by. What is the cause? I can't simply add a space to my product_name definition because there are moments where I need punctuation after the it. I think has to do with how FrameMaker treats the conkeyrefs because when I put manually the spaces after all conkeyrefs and then choose DITA > update references FrameMaker will go through my document and update all conkeyrefs and remove the trailing space. Where is this behavior defined or defined?

    -Lief

    Hi Lief,

    Thanks a lot for this post. This reminded me of something that has been introduced in FM10, which IMHO is a terrible bug and made me hours of boredom to repair the damage, he did. And I was never able to complete track down to this day all the damage, I still find problems he has caused.

    Anyway, while your post helped me a lot because it inspired me to check my FM11 installation, I do not know if my answer will help you, but it's worth a try.

    In your maker.ini file, it is by default the following parameter:

    RemoveExtraWhiteSpacesOnXMLImport = we

    It is a setting of obnoxious aggressively removes a space in various situations, some sound as in the case you describe. Try to turn it off and see what happens. To be sure, turn it off in the two copies of the maker.ini... copy it into your facility and your sector of user profile directory (Documents and Settings > etc..)

    Checking my FM11 installation, I see that the setting is always enabled by default. I'm ranting here, but for the life of me, I can't understand how a desktop publisher is broadcast with a parameter that inadvertently changes your source files. Also, I don't understand why anyone produce literary content had wanted that kind of standardization of white space. I was told to submit a bug report comes back with the FM10, but I never had time to thinking surely that this mistake would be made and fixed. I'm now heading the bug report area.
