Spare cartridge 564

I have an all in one printer. It has two separate black cartridges. Why only can I find the replacement for one of them? At they stopped to make the other smaller black cartridge?

Hello

The thinner now called 'Photo ink cartridge' and it has a camera on her logo:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01839024

You can always find Photo ink cartridges (also with a camera logo):

http://www.dicksmith.com.au/Ink-toner-paper/HP-564-photo-black-ink-cartridge-cb317wa-dsau-xm6514

and the normal black ink cartridges:

Kind regards.

PS. The shops above are in Australia, few countries use the same source.

  • : Photosmart Plus ink cartridges 564

I have a Photosmart Plus, which uses 564 cartridges.

Since I have several cartridges, I want to replace this printer with another who uses the same cartridge.

There is a new model for use by the carts of 564?

    Thanks for your reply.

I searched diligently and, as far as I know, unfortunately HP no longer sells a printer that uses 564 carts.

Not a huge surprise - Photosmart Plus is a few years old.

I bought 2 different 564 PHOTO Black cartridges for my Photosmart 7525 and neither one will work. I get the message that the cartridge is missing or damaged. I don't want to buy a printer because I can not find a replacement for the existing cartridge. Please let me know if there are any tips. I bought the cartridge at Wal-Mart and it is an original HP not a remanufactured. Thanks for any help.

After that I inserted 564 new ink cartridges in my printer HP Photosmart 6520, 564 color cartridges show partially full, the 564 full black display XL Black print cartridge.  Is this normal?   Bill

    Update.

A HP supervisor contacted me by phone to discuss the problem of ink cartridge that I have with my printer HP which is indicating nine color ink cartridges are less then showing full.

Much to my surprise, the supervisor volunteered to replace the printer.

I was hoping there would be a way to reset the cartridge ink level display, so it would be more accurate.  However, it seemed certain that it was a hardware problem and not something I could fix it.

The new printer is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, 13 November 2013.

  • HP Photosmart all-in-one C309a: need help Urgent! -HP Photosmart all-in-one problem C309a Incompatible cartridge - 564 and 862

    Hello everyone.

I am a happy user of HP Photosmart all-in-one printer and for many years never had a problem.  I always bought new 862 cartridges and it worked fine.  Recently, a friend brought me to Singapore two new series of cartridges, but the owner of the store said this is the new higher capacity cartridges.  I said why not?  Even better, in fact since the printer is a guzzler of ink!

This is, because I tried to install these new cartridges, I always get the message "Incompatible cartridge" after what, I can't not access the printer.

Can someone help me solve this problem?  The cartridges are exactly the same, so I suspect its something to do with the chip?  I tried all possible methods such as the re-installation of the cartridges, remove the carriage and re-setup, cleaning the cartridge chip, etc.

Since I'm brought this printer back from China to Europe, I really need to solve this problem otherwise I'm stuck without a printer.  These cartridges are not available locally.

I would be grateful any advice!  Thank you.

Your printer can use cartridges of 864. Unless you call HP and have them reset the printer to your new country, you live. Only then these cartridges can be used if you can find them on the spot. Call HP.

  • Ink cartridge 564 for C5380 v. small large

I have a C5380 and bought a Photo Balck replacement cartridge. It is a CB317WA and the same (small) size as CMYK cartridges.

Problem I have is that it replaces a CN684W, which is the largest size black Photo cartridge.

The new (CB317WA) says it's for the C5380, but it does not in the Photo Black compartment. The re is a leg of positioning in the "rear" of the cratridges, in the sahpe of a 't'. on the small CMYK cartridges, this 't' is backwards. Pictured big black format, it is not. My black cartridge replacement Photo (CB317WA) is smaller but the hind is reversed and does not in the black slot Photo even if that's what it is designed for. (The packaging clearly States ONLY for 5 printers cartridge and lists as C5380 supported.)

I do not understand what I did wrong...

Hello there editor61, I hope you are well

I read your post on ink, disorders of the cartridge. It seems the sound that you can try to insert the photo black cartridge in the slot of regular black ink, which will not work.

This is a link to a guide that will show you what ink is what reference number:

    Ink cartridge information

Also, here is a guide for the replacement of the ink cartridges

If there is still a problem with the ink cartridges, contact HP directly to your options with them:

I have a C309g printer and I have a problem, get the good black ink cartridge. With the cartridges all have the same number, I can't find one that is the smallest. I have 3 cartridges (seals) here which are the larger size more. I have also one that I opened and then realized it did not fit into the slot and it dried up.

How will I know which is the smallest cartridge without opening the box.

  • 564 ink cartridges: ink compatibility

My HP Photosmart 5525, scanner, copier color printer just died.  I still have tons of spare cartridges 564.  How can I find out what new printers can use the same cartridges?

There are a number of printers that use cartridges HP 564, Office Depot lists the following:

    • Compatible HP models:
      • DeskJet: 3070 - B611a, 3520 e - all - in - one, 3521, 3522
      • OfficeJet: 4620, 4622

      • Photosmart Plus
      • Photosmart more: B209a B209b, B209c, B210, B210a, B210b, B210c, B210d, B210e
      • Photosmart Premium: C309a, C309c, C309g, C309n, C310a, C310b, C310c, C410a, C410b, Fax, Fax C410a, Touchsmart C309, C310, Touch WebSmart, Web C309n Touchsmart, C309n Touchsmart
      • Photosmart Pro: B8553, B8558

There is a question to keep in mind: HP has changed the design of the 564 cartridges a few years ago.  The new cartridges will work in older printers but not vice versa.  If your cartridges have a date of 'end of warranty' (found on the lower back right side of the package) before September 2012, they are the old cartridges.

  • HP 364 vs 564 ink cartridges

To say that I am disgusted with HP is an understatement.  I bought a printer of HP 6510 of AAFES in Germany in 2012 e.  When the printer ran out of black ink, I went back to AAFES buy a replacement cartridge, only to find that AAFES did not have in stock.  As a result, I bought what I assumed the label was a compatible cartridge of a German bank.  The cartridge in the printer has been labeled 564 and had an expiration date of 02/09/2014; the cartridge I bought, 364 and 2014/02/09.  When I installed the cartridge in the printer, the printer displays "Not compatible ink cartridges."  Finally, in searching the Internet for a solution to my problem, I learned after much research I need to order the cartridge 564 - with the exception of the number is the same as the cartridge 364 - of the United States.  The alternative to this boring solution, which is itself annoying, is to call a support office in the customer country HP for assistance in executing a reset 'regionalisation', then repeat the reset when I come back to the United States.  (HP office of the U.S. customer support does not support HP customers located outside the United States.)

If ever a company deserved the hard times are slaughtered on HP since the recession, it is HP itself!

Ok.. So calm down. The next day, I tried again. The reason for this is the printer has worked with the other version of the ink - I don't like scrap dumping a perfectly functional printer for the sake of a communication problem.

So I called again - this time I called the UK - they then told me that I have the regionalization by the new regional support team... OK - lets give this go another... So I call my local support team, and this time I get my hands on someone who, after an hour, put me through to a 2nd technician level and this guy knows what she does! The dialect of the team, they could also be in India, that I have no problem whatsoever with only as long as we can all understand each other. Anyway, this guy is smart and give me some smart codes and we are in the underground world of the user interface of the printer.

We spend another hour producing codes and delivery retries to regionalize the system, but unfortunately none that works. I really give these guys there credit because they give... they were very polite, very patient and knew what was going on. Finally, we agreed to call it a day with the promise that someone senior at HP would call and follow-up. 2 hours later, has happened and now my problem is solved.

Well done guys - it took about 5 hours in total, a family dispute and a lot of patience, but we got there...

I'm a happy HP customer again.

Next time if I have problems I might try just directly ask for the 2nd level or by switching to a different 1st level tech tech...

  • HP7520: HP7520 Printer: 564XL cartridge and 564 Standard

I recently bought the cartridge 564XL (I need a longer life of the cartridge). The standard cartridge 564 is empty, which I did not replace.

Why should I get both black cartridges? A photo and a copy? I wish HP are available that you need both to work, because I would have ordered the 564 both 564XL together.

Please tell us if I can print using only the 564XL.

    Thank you

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

The answer is that you need not the two Photo black ink and regular black ink in the 7520 Photosmart printer and printer Photosmart 7525.

Media type / paper selection plays a role in the way the ink is selected.

    ====================================================

The following is provided by our own Provost Expert Bob_Headrick

The document explains how to use the ordinary black and photo black ink cartridges used in the 7520 Photosmart and printers Photosmart 7525.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Partial extract:

The smallest cartridge is the photo cartridge, used for printing of dark areas when the photo paper is selected in the driver, or 'automatic' paper selection is enabled, the media type is detected as photo paper.  It can also be used in some cases when you print graphics on plain paper.  If you are printing on plain paper make sure "plain paper" is selected in the selection of the type of media for the driver.

The Photosmart 7525 [and Photosmart 7520] may require ink in all colors (including photos and black) to avoid any clogging of printheads.  See here for more information on how the ink is used.  PhotoSmart 7525 is an IIC printer in the terminology of this document.
