Spark plug of the PC crashes on vista

Hello

I have recently re found an old game of mine, ignition, it was released at the end of the 1990s, but is very playable. Once vista enabled the game to run long enough to fill a part of the game he will now not run the game for more than 5-10 minutes without crashing and it's looking for a solution.

Its really frustrating, I just put the CD in anything that I wasn't expecting to work, wish had not now as then I wouldn't persevering it. I run as admin etc, nothing changes the irratic nature of how long it has been running for.

Any ideas on what to do to solve the problem.

Also, y media for vista available (his immensely slow, has been from day one) is it possible to downgrade from vista to XP, why is - one of my old dos games don't work on vista, it is possible to make them, I feel like I have to buy and old computer to keep the old games running, this is the case.

Thank you

John

Hi itsjohnh,

I recommend you to play the game in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2.

Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that allows you to run programs written for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

"" For whether your programs (or programs that you plan to buy) are compatible with Windows Vista, see the Vista Compatibility Center "" href = "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=81593" > Windows Vista Compatibility Center. This site contains a complete list of programs and devices that work with Windows Vista.

If an older program doesn't work correctly, start the program compatibility Wizard to simulate earlier versions of Windows.

Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button , by clicking on the Control Panel, click programsand then click use an older with this version of Windows program.

I included a few links that will help you:

  • Satellite P200 - 14 H - problem with the software after reinstalling Vista whindows

    I have a Satellite P200 - 14 H, who bought systems Activ of Romania. I got a Toshiba DVD with an image pre-configured Windows and my driver's license windows vista Home premium. After several blue screens windows crashed after 5 days. It was a software problem. I am a network administrator and I need several virtual machines Linux vmware server Windows.

    The DVD provided with the laptop is not really suited to my needs to reinstall windows because it throws my entire hard drive and is not an option. I took a friend a DVD windows vista Home premium and using my key from the sticker on the back of my laptop I reinstalled win without deleting all of the hard drive but only the partition c. I downloaded all the drivers of your site even if I found them really hard (model PSPB6E because that model PSPB6E I don't find it anywhere) everything is good except that "Flash Cards Support Utility" and «» Hardware Setup' give me the following error: "serial number is invalid '. I don't know what to do to be able to use the function keys I knew which are installed by 'Flash Cards Support utility'.

    If it is not good that I did give me another solution that does not need to wipe entire HARD drive, but only the C drive and use the DVD that you have provided or give me access to some place to be able to download all the drivers and software that can be found on the original DVD (those above and to burn DVD and Norton internet security center and so on)

    Thank you very much and please be so kind to give me a solution quickly because I really need this computer and I am unable to use it.

    Hi Adrian

    I'll try to clarify a few things;
    First the drivers for Satellite P200 - 14 H PSPB6E series are placed on the page of Toshiba Europe and it of really not difficult to find.
    Secondly the Vista serial key, which is located on the bottom of the unit cannot be used with another copy of Vista OS! This will not work!

    You have installed the operating system Vista from the CD to friends, but you used a serial key that does not match with the Vista on CD to friends! As a result, you get the message error "serial number is invalid!"
    The utility of Flash cards is required to use the keys FN under Win Vista. It visually shows the use of the FN button.

    I would recommend another way of installation
    First, you must use the DCD from Toshiba recovery. Back up your data first!
    Then after installing the OS, create a new partition and install your favorite OS (Linux, XP, etc.)

    If you n t to use the Toshiba recovery but CD the original Microsoft CD Vista then you need to use the original series OS key that belongs to the MS Vista CD.

    Good bye

    Toshiba Flash Cards crashes on Vista when windows is configured to use the standard color scheme "windows" under appearance settings, (for your information, I prefer to use this mode, vista runs faster, uses less energy and less ram system in this mode).

    However, he does not plant immediately, on the contrary, it seems to crash whenever I flip the screen (which happens quite often that I m using a tablet pc) with the version previous software it crashed at startup but which seems to have been fixed with this version, although not completely, but when it blocks it completely will not close even if I force the Task Manager to end the process (rather than just the) Task).

    Hello!

    I have a Qosmio F30-111, originally with Windows MCE and all devices works fine, but I made an update of firmware BIOS to 3.40 (before was a version 1.x).

    Later, I installed Windows Vista Ultimate and all devices has been recognized very well (with Toshiba Vista drivers), but the sound was not working!
    The situation was:
    -The sound device has been recognized;
    -The MIC works (but I can't hear it);
    -The speakers do not work!<- the="" real="">

    Now I installed the recovery CD and I'm new to Windows MCE, but noise have the same problem... is recognized, but the speakers do not work.
    I have no idea what to do... I don't know if it is possible to restore the firmware (I think that was the problem).

    Don't forget: the audio device works, the works of Media Player, but I can't hear the sound (Yes, the volume is high and is not dumb)

    Sorry for my bad English,
    Thank you very much!

    Murilo

    Hello Md2

    You can hear the noise if you plug headphones into the audio?

    If there is his helmet and then the audio device works well.

    If not, then disconnect all devices external usb and start a clean installation of vista (not upgrade, but booting from the vista cd)

    don't forget to put the RAID driver on cd or diskette or usb flash key before doing the clean install of vista.

  • CanvasClear causes the application crash

    I use a simple rectangular control canvas with movement indicator (Vshape) that displays the currently measured value.

    The value is updated 10 to 14 times per second, and deliberately, I made these values fluctuate.

    The canvas is filled with gradient colors (5 ranges) and the indicator moves upwards or downwards. In order to redraw the indicator,

    I use CanvasClear with the VAL_ENTIRE_OBJECT attribute and then redraws its content.  A few days ago, I noticed,

    that the software crashed, when the Panel containing the canvas control, was behind another window (belonging to an another SW

    tell the programmers Notepad or msword). I was able to reproduce the crash, which occurred immediately, but

    After that the software worked anywhere from 0.5 to 5 hours and the questionable control was behind another window.

    I also have seen, before the accident, if I move the window covering away from the canvas control, rectangle covered

    becomes black (break in non-se mode, it remains white) and it takes several seconds to redraw the partial region.

    Sometimes I noticed irregular elements (a diagonal line, not planned, from the left corner down to the right).

    Labwindows2010 IDE always shows crash-point as a call to CanvasClear().

    None of the functions, manipulating the canvas control, the return of negative values, because the software checks to see if it and if found newspapers a

    Sorry for the delay in response. I followed a red herring for a few hours when troubleshooting this. It turns out that this could have been resolved much more quickly using the resource followed in CVI. If you have the full development system, you can change the compiler Options > debug to cabins lying level and then open the window > Resource Tracking. This will show you all the memory and handles your code currently open. It will appear when the elements are created, changed, or destroyed. Looking at it when your application is running (you need to suspend execution at a breakpoint to see the tracking of resources), you will see that the program continues to create plots that belong to the curve of the COLORSCALE. It is your intensity graph. If you look at using the function for PlotIntensity, he recalled in a note that a new trace is created every time that you call this function, and you want to get rid of these plots with DeleteGraphPlot.

    You can add something like this in InitScaleData.

    if(plotHandle != 0)
    {
            DeleteGraphPlot (IndicatorPanel(0), IND_COMP_COLORSCALE, plotHandle, VAL_DELAYED_DRAW);
    }
    plotHandle = PlotIntensity (IndicatorPanel(0), IND_COMP_COLORSCALE, scaleArray, 2, OGL_SCHEME, VAL_DOUBLE, gColorMap,gColorMap[OGL_SCHEME-1].color, OGL_SCHEME, 1, 1);

    I don't think you run necessarily in a memory problem here throwing the parcels. Intensity plots use rather a small number of GDI handles. In Windows Vista and 7, the number of GDI handles is limited to 10,000 by a Windows registry key. I look at the number of open GDI handles in the process Explorer reveals that 10000 handles were open when the application crashed on my system after about 45 minutes of execution.

    Let me know if it works if you have a chance to try this solution.

    My computer crashed. How can I get a copy of my operating system from Vista to reinstall? I bought a mac and parallels software, and I need to install my software Vista be able to use it (it has been preloaded on my pc crashed).

    Hello

    Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista on your computer "crashed".

    If you want to install anywhere else, like her, is a preinstalled OS, it is linked to the original computer "crashed" it came installed on.

    An OEM license is not transferable

    And install on a Virtual Machine requires a new license.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    "How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
