Speakers aren't working

My bios did an automatic upgrade, and that on I can't hear anything in my speakers or headphones,

Hello

Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f10 (it may be possibly a different key according to yor model) as soon as you press the power button to access the Menu of the Bios.  Make sure the integrated audio system is turned on - if you need to change the configuration, remember to save any changes when you exit the bios menu.

Kind regards

  • Additional speakers aren't working only not on Dell (Displaylink Hub)

I have a laptop Dell XPS 9333, who works with a Dell (Displaylink) 3 G Hub. I'm on Windows 10 and have the latest Displaylink software (7,9) loaded, but when I connect additional speakers (that work on other computers) I hear only still sound through the laptop and not the additional speakers who are plugged into the hub.

I also ran all diagnostic tests various provided by Dell & Windows

I recommend that you check to see if the external speakers are detected by the laptop.  Make a right click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and choose the playback device.  What devices are listed here? You see external speakers, or anything like that by mentioning the link display?  Select the external speakers and click Configure, click test, do hear them now?  If so, select the external speaker, and then click configuring default button and then try the external speakers.

Please let me know if the problem persists.

    Hello

I have a dell inspiron N5110. He recently had a new hard drive mounted. Upon his return, no sound can be heard through the speakers inbult but sound can be heard with headphones.

I am running Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

The speakers are set to the default device in read mode.

    Any ideas?

It is a non technical procedure of common sense for anyone who can use a screwdriver - but it's a job long enough. For a person unfamiliar with the tools at hand he would not be the first project, they should try.

Clear a space to work on and a towel or something underneath to help catch the screws removed. Put the screws in containers and label those who are different from the rest.

Before pulling a cable to see if there is a locking mechanism.

When you follow the links to the service manual it will open in your browser, but you must download it and open it in Adobe Reader in order to view properly. It is a pdf file.

Open it in Adobe Reader on another computer if you have one available, or print Adobe Reader, and then follow the instructions step by step, when you work on your laptop...

  • Satellite P100-240: speakers do not work

I have a Satellite P100-240 with built-in speakers. Recently the speakers worked intermittently with no control over the volume (the volume was extremely low). Now the speakers do not work at all, either from a cd or a sound system.

    Can you help me?

    Hello

You must know that in such cases is really not possible to give a precise explanation. If the audio device is installed correctly and in Device Manager is not listed as problematic there must be a problem with the settings.

First try to check all the sound settings and make sure that the mute box is not selected. Also check dial volume control. If everything is set to max level and no MUTE is ENABLED, please check the features that you use headphones.

    Please post the results.

  • Speakers do not work on my Satellite Pro U200

    Hello

I have problem - speakers do not work.
If I plug the headphones on making mini-jack - works perfectly.
    I have installed WinXPPro.
Probably I need a driver, but I put t remember the name of the driver.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help

    I agree with Akuma.
If the headphone jack works it looks like a hardware problem. Maybe the internal speakers are faulty or not connected properly to the motherboard.

The best way would be to contact an ASP. They can check your laptop and swap the internal speakers if it of necessary.

  • Satellite C855 - speakers suddenly stopped working

I have a Satellite C855-1J2 running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium SP1. I turned on December 21, 2012 and installed five applications - the latest versions of Firefox, CeltX, Notepad ++, Open Office and Microsoft Security Essentials (I removed McAfee). I have the latest Windows. Since then I have not installed other applications.

Three days later, my laptop was working fine until, suddenly, that the speakers stopped working. I can identify the specific incident that caused it. I connected a pair of perfectly ordinary headphones using the standard headphone jack, power the laptop off, after that I was done listening but headphones plugged on the left.

When I turned on the laptop back the next day, no sound came in headphones.
When I unplugged them, no sound came from the speakers.
I rebooted my machine and the speakers worked fine.

However, I am now in a situation where whenever I turn on my laptop, the speakers do not work and they will work again when I restart then. A little investigation of this problem shows the following...

Whenever I turn on my laptop and go to control panel-> hardware and sound-> manage Audio devices I see two items:

    (1) ' - high definition Audio Device - speakers not plugged"with a speaker greyed out icon with a red arrow.

    (2) "audio digital (S/PDIF) - high definition Audio Device - default device" with a colored external amplifier icon (it looks a bit like a DVD player) with a green check mark. There is an icon of audio level next to him that shows sound whenever the sound is played on my laptop, but no sound is audible, either through my speakers or headphones.

Whenever I then reboot my laptop and go to control panel-> hardware and sound-> manage Audio devices I can see an article:
"Speakers - Realtek High Definition Audio - Default Device" with a colorful speaker and a green arrow icon. The sound works perfectly well.

I already looked online and the Toshiba forums for a solution to this, but while I found lots of people with similar problems of speaker with Toshiba Satellite laptops, I have not found a solution (and when I say something, I mean something a little more useful that "have you tried completely reinstalling your operating system') so this thread.

Even if a reboot is currently to solve my problem, I obviously shouldn't have to restart my machine at all in order to get something as simple as his, so my questions are:
    (1) what is the cause of this problem - in other words, why what is happening?
    (2) what is the Toshiba solution to this problem?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It seems to me that the issue you described above that the speakers would not be chosen as device by default, but the Audio Digital (S/PDIF).
Somehow the audio driver cannot detect the first initialization of the system speakers.

I don't know why this happened but I have two proposals:

(* 1) * uninstall the audio driver from the system. Download the driver from his most recent of the Toshiba page and install it after restarting the laptop first.

(* 2) * if installing the audio driver is not enough, the last resort would be the recovery of the system.

(> 2) what is the Toshiba solution to this problem?
If you want to get a recommendation of Toshiba, I would give advice to connect with people. It is the community of users.

  • Satellite L755 - sound stops on the speakers (helmets of work)

    Hello world
    I'm a strange problem
When I'm watching a video or game
the sound just stops (internal speakers), but when I plug my headphones, the sound works
By the way, here's a shot that I took while I couldn't hear anything from my internal speakers

I installed the latest driver for the NVIDIA graphics I also reinstalled windows but the same problem still
I tried everything literally: System Restore; flashed the BIOS to 3.60. updated all my drivers. reinstalled Windows; tried to unravel a possible conflict with other devices or Audio HD Nvidia device; tried to disable the HD Audio from Nvidia; and also tried uninstall Conexant SmartAudio HD, which allows Windows to install default device HD Audio but it only made it worse

my laptop is a toshiba l755

    > the sound just stops (internal speakers), but when I plug my headphones, the sound works

Not quite sure this topic but it seems to me a bad functioning of the speaker.
But to be honest, that it's just a hypothesis, its strange sounds to me that the sound is coming through the headset correctly but speakers don t work so I guess that the speakers can be affected.

  • L300 satellite speakers do not work - no audio device not detected

I just bought a L300 and the speakers do not work.
The computer says there is no audio device detected and when I checked it is said more far there are no drivers installed for the speakers, and I can't find a way to install them. Can anyone help?

Can I ask you if you use the OS preinstalled Toshiba?
The message; No audio device detected means that it sound card doesn't work.
Why? Well, maybe the audio driver has not been installed properly?

    Please check this!

    Hello

Maybe the speakers are not defective but the small switch located in the dysfunctions of helmet?  :|
The little switch turns Mute speakers when headphones are connected.
Try to move the headset jack a little bit maybe you will notice a few differences

But just a question; you see yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager? Have you tried reinstalling the audio driver?
If this isn't the case, then I recommend to reinstall!

  • T440p - speakers do not work

    Hi all

Just got a new T440p today and the speakers do not work, they produce only a "popping" or a pinging all the time. The works of 3.5 mm audio output.

    I tried the things:

    • Install the latest audio drivers from Realtek and Lenovo Web site
    • Change audio mode to 'classic' in the Realtek Control Panel
    • Using the default Windows audio drivers
    • Reinstalling Windows 8.1
    • Test speakers under Ubuntu 14.10
    • Reset the BIOS Setup
    • Update the BIOS to version 2.28
    • Downgrading to BIOS to version 2.26 (note: I have curerently have installed 2.28)

I managed to get my speakers working at the end of the day, by restarting the Windows audio service, and the fix has persisted through a reboot.

If someone else gets the same problem:

    1. Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog box
    2. Type "services.msc" without the quotes
    3. Locate the audio service Windows in the list
    4. Right-click-> Reboot

  • Speakers have stopped working on the Satellite a series

I have a laptop satellite - not sure what mono - speakers have stopped working and are unable to turn back.

Have tried checking volumen and none controls mute buttons are slected. tested and it says ther no problem but still no sound. have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled - what else can I try?

    > have a portable satellite - not sure that we
Roll on Notepad and check the label at the bottom of the unit. You will find the name of the laptop!

    > Speakers have stopped working on the Satellite a series
Open the Device Manager and check if no yellow exclamation point appears. If you can see this yellow sigh perhaps the sound card driver is not installed correctly.

In addition, please plug the headphones to your laptop and check if you can hear anything through the headphones.
