Speed of the processor (Satalite A50)

Hello

My motherboard has been replaced by the Toshiba official, for a sound problem, and now my computer seems slower. If I right click on my computer it shows clocked at 1.6 Ghz, but underneath it shows 598 Mhz. Is this normal? If this is not the case-how increase the speed of the CPU?

Hello

I believe that your unit is slower after the repair.
Where have you seen the 598 MHz?
As far as I know, you'll recognize the speed of the CPU if you go to control panel system.
On the general tab, you can find the value.
The 1.6 Ghz are around 1598 Mhz. Maybe you can't see the first figure?
I don't have any anther explanation.

Best regards

I have an older AMD desktop computer and it runs something called AMD Cool and quiet - which causes the processor to slow down when is not necessary. I like it because it causes run cooler, thus extending its life.

You should check to see if you have it on your PC.

Disable it CAN allow your CPU to run faster on a regular basis - it's worth a try.

  • Z620 HP: HP Z620: increase the clock speed of the processor

I have a HP Z620 workstation with processor Intel Xeon E5-2620v2. In the datasheet writes: "Turbo boost stepping occurs in increments of 100 MHz.".
I want to increase the clock speed of the processor to the top of 2.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz. How to do?

    Hello

Turbo boost is dynamic based on demand. If you want a base clock faster then replace two processors Xeon E5-2630 v2.  If your application cannot take advantage of 6 hearts then consider the E5-1620 v2 which is 4 cores and has a base of 3.7 and turbos at 3.9 clock.

BTW - Turbo boost are not available on all PC configurations.

I searched in the words of Optiions available in the device, but of no use.

Can someone tell me where can I find the processor information?

  • Tecra 8100: Question on the temperature of the processor and speed

advice please, I installed a p3 900 processor in my tecra 8100 and he sees it only as a 700. Since the Bios was outdated, I downloaded the latest bios which had no effect on its speed. However, as the update of the bios fan never happens that maybe a coincidence?

Can any body advise me the temp for the processor and the motherboard. My diagnostic software shows 55(c) of the motherboard and 43 for cpu, no fan activity at all. The original processor speed was 600 and I expect the 900 full because I think this is a 100 mhz bus.

Any help or comment gladly received thanks.

    Hello Peter

I'm not an expert, but maybe don windows to see the t the correct CPU speed. I recommend you to use a tool (clock THG) which indicates the speed of the processor.

  • It is better to put an SSD in my slow-beastly Macbook, or processor speed is the King?

I have an early 2008 Macbook (I know), one of her now retired 17 "ones, I'm maxing out to 6 MB of RAM (I know).  It's like the core duo 2.5 GHz.  Then obviously, Lightroom + weddings = molasses.

For a few hundred dollars, I could put in an SSD, invade the space of my traditional hard drive optical Bay DVD disc and run the operating system, applications and current LR catalog of the SSD.

But, is it still worth it?  It is the speed of the processor that's killing me here, or would upgrade to an SSD help out me?  I'm going to get more bang out of my money to photograph if I put my current disposable income in the upgrade of my camera body (1 5 5D3s) and all in post-processing is slow and boring, at least I * can * that everything is done.  There are just a lot of time. I can't do the quality of the image that I need in the half-light outside my current cameras, this is the priority.  So I look at another year, probably, before I could go new Macbook.  Screen 17 "I miss, but such is life.

So, what do you think?  Interesting put in a SSD, or hold on and put every penny towards a faster processor and more RAM a year from now?  I still have about 30 weddings to go this season so post-treatment pain is adding, but I don't want to just throw away money if this is not the real problem.

You need more CPU. I think the idiom, could apply to get the SSD is like "putting lipstick on a pig."

    Hello

I think it depends a bit on what operating system you use.
I guess this is not Windows XP, because the general tab in system properties would show you the speed of the processor. I have Office installed my unit o, if I click on HELP in the menu and then ABOUT I get a screen with a button "SYSTEM INFO". This button will take me to a summary of the material.

    aeneuman,

You can install CPUID HWMonitor (there is a free version). Then monitor your time in various conditions.

If you have stock INtel i3 2130, the maximum operating temperature is 69.1 c by here

The max of 560 map is 99 c per here

Lasvegaswireman said, quote "you can't change the speed of the processor and chassis/case on your computer fans.  I would at least look at your BIOS version 7, that you have installed. There may be the thermal fan settings. See here under the Power Tab, thermal Menu menu

  • Front side bus and processor very slow speed on the Satellite 2800

Sandra 2002 shows the speed of processor as well as 199 Mhz FSB as 26 Mhz. A CPU speed test confirms it. How do I (I can) fix this?

    Everything else seems normal.

Wow, this must be a very old unit it s not I known but thank you google I ve found some details ;)

It seems that the unit has been delivered with a processor Pentium III 700 MhZ and 100 Mhz FSB.

I m not 100% sure about this laptop, but the new units are delivered with the TPS (Toshiba Power Saver) that controls the speed of the CPU. If the temperature rises and the cooling modules are not longer able to cool the system the CPU speed CPU should be cut to reduce the temperature.

I think you should check these settings on your laptop and also check the cooling fans because sometimes the dust and debris to prevent the circulation of air.

  • I plan to upgrade my OS to El Capitan.  What are the processor speed and memory required for the operating system works well?

I plan to upgrade my OS to El Capitan.  What are the processor speed and memory required for the operating system works well?

    I use a processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 with DDR3 4 GB 1333 MHz memory.

My last similar attempt on another machine resulted in a very slow computer.

    Thanks, Ron

    Apple says the following:

    General requirements

    • OS X 10.6.8 or later version
    • 2 GB memory
    • 8.8 GB of available storage

For best performance, I would say not less 4 GB and preferably 8 GB or more.

Your i5 is well able to support properly.

    Hello

If the processor starts to get warmer or runs faster (I mean if he starts using 80 or 90% of its power) the processor fan also starts automatically run faster or the pleasure of the CPU always runs on the same speed.

    Thank you

    Hi Johan,.

It is correct.  The fan works more quickly to cool a processor that is widely used.
