  Hi, one of my colleagues has a new notebook Tecra A11. I've recently updated the bios to version 2.60 and since then the fan is constantly at full speed.   It seems that the unit has been delivered with a processor Pentium III 700 MhZ and 100 Mhz FSB.

  I m not 100% sure about this laptop, but the new units are delivered with the TPS (Toshiba Power Saver) that controls the speed of the CPU. If the temperature rises and the cooling modules are not longer able to cool the system the CPU speed CPU should be cut to reduce the temperature.

  I think you should check these settings on your laptop and also check the cooling fans because sometimes the dust and debris to prevent the circulation of air.
