  • E-mail-Outlook Express does not open.

Don't know if I'm in the right place to ask this question. When I try to open my Outlook Express I get a box that reads, "Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE." DLL could not be initialized. "Outlook Express from my is not installed correctly.    He told me to contact Microsoft support. It worked fine yesterday until I clicked on a box to leave my files be compacted. Since then, I have not been able to open Outlook. I tried to restore my computer to 4 different dates, but he tells me that it is not able to restore to previous dates. I'm not a computer genius, so any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Which is good news for beginners.

Normally, restore bak files are a little easier, but since you had to create a new identity, you must import them manually.

Open the trash and all the bak files, you must drag the desktop.  Do not use the option restore.

    Follow the instructions here.

How to restore individual dbx files
    http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

You will need to rename them, and create the corresponding files in OE to their housing. It is not difficult, but read carefully and just do one at a time.

If you do not understand the instructions, post back before trying. You can drag an additional bak file on the desktop that you need not just to a series of tests.

  • I use XP and when I try to open Outlook Express I get this message. "Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE." DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Express is not installed properly

Last night, everything seemed normal. When I try to open Outlook Express, I get this message. "Outlook express could not be started.  The application could not open message store outlook express.  Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full.  Contact Microsoft Support for assistance. (0x800700C1, 193) "after this message, the message above was posted. I bought and ran a program called FixCleaner with the same results. I also cleaned my disk and more 66 G remains to use and have a lot of available memory.

Thank you all for your help, but I gave up and took it to my computer guru and fixed it. He said there where a few old accounts in the computer and registry was messed up and it solved the problem and now it works.

    THANKS again!

I get this code, my quick books does not more open because I tried to send an e-mail here.  It says "outlook express could not be started. Hello

The file in which outlook express stores messages are filled, so the error code.  I suggest you to change the location of the file where the messages are stored.

Perform the steps mentioned below and check if this is useful:

    Method 1:

    (a) open outlook express

    (b) click on Tools.

    (c) click on options.

    (d) go to the maintenance tab and the store file.

    (e) click Edit.

    (f) c/documents and settings/directors name/outlook express contract

    (g) restart the computer

    See also: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Method 2:
if the problem persists, perform the following steps:

    (a) open the Windows Desktop Search Options

    (b) click Edit and clear the checkbox next to Outlook Express.

    (C) click on 'OK', then 'close'.

  • Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Error code: 0 x 80007114

Operating system Windows XP, at startup, I get the message: "Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"and displays the error code: 0 x 80007114.  (I have a new drive hard with enough space) Outlook Express always open well and functioning normally.  The message mentions and how to fix the problem?  Thank you, Rick

Jump here (nothing Bruce suggested is false), I did a search and found this old article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419), which indicates that there is a bad entry under the identity key in the registry (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background).  So if it's a big problem, you can do the steps suggested in this article and that will fix it.  Or if you have just one account, then backup your settings and the identity key and then delete the identity key and then start OE and it will establish a new, and you can then set up your account again, and then import the messages from the older directory.  But it does not indicate the major corruption, so you can just ignore it.

  • Outlook express does not error _ code download new emails 0x8007000E

Outlook express does not error _ code download new emails 0x8007000E

out of memory?  a lot of memory!

Go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  Then when it works very well, use a file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.  This gives a basis for new and incompetent messages and should fix things.

    Folders.dbx is probably damaged.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects:

When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.

If Bruce's response does not help, then move all the dbx files in the message a directory of storage for OE will create a new message store.  Then see if that solves the problem.  If this is the case you can use the file | Import | Messages to get from the directory to which you move them.

Also check interference antivirus.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • Outlook Express - will not let me delete any message

Outlook Express will not let me delete all messages?  How can I fix?  Thank you!

You have corruption of dbx files.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. I can't restore to a day of classes, and I can't find the base of messages because OE does not open.

I tried to do it on my own from your site, but cannot go further.

    Thank you

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#7 , you probably need to remove folders.dbx and OE should start.  After making a backup of your messages and if there is corruption still it would be advisable to go to the file. Identities and together a new identity and then when that works very well, go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.
