    Help, I've changed the root ESXi via powerCli password, now I can not connect with the web client or the console, but I can still connect to powerCli. The command I used was;

y at - it something I have left out. I really appreciate any assistance that you people can provide.

    Thank you, Joe

It is probably a longshot, but a lot of things in the land of windows is not sensitive to capital letters as Unix is.  I wonder if your new password you put through powerCLI mixed uppercase in it and if the capitalization was abandoned by command windows powerCLI Analyzer, or he interpreted as all capitals or something.   If you can still get through the powerCLI you could try to reset the password again to something simple without capitalization mixed case and if your password on ESXi strategy requires a special character, try something different than a "$", like a "_" (I find that a '_' is less likely than some other special characters (, as a '-' or a ' / ' to cause problems with analyzers.).

    Edit:

Another thing, you can try before playing with the password once again, is to create a different username ESXi using powerCLI and see if the password ends up what you think, it should be, and if you can get with the client vsphere using it.  In this way, you can find out if there are some problems with certain characters or Cap through command powerCLI Analyzer without losing your remaining root by powerCLI access.  After some tests, you can understand what went wrong with your initial password change and may be able to fix it with less risk of losing access.  I also assume that you can not create a new username on ESXi who is able to change the root password no matter what authority give you it, otherwise, you could create a new username with PowerCLI, then connect to the client vsphere with it and change the password to root from there.

  • 5.5 beta sdk will be compatible with the web client 5.1?

    Hello

We are studying options for vsphere web clinet plugin. We use the 5.1 sdk for our plugin currently. Now we continue to hear a lot of new features coming with 5.5 Sdk. So we intend to spend 5.5 sdk, visitors will also migrate to version 5.5 web client to use our plugin?

    Concerning

Built with the SDK 5.1 plugins must be compatible with the Web Client 5.5.  Our goal is to ensure backward compatibility for at least 1 major release.

  • Very slow performance with the Web Client vSphere

I'm testing the vSphere Web Client, but I find it excruciatingly slow - it takes almost 5 minutes just to open a session, and each click after that I take a good load of 30 seconds before the new page is completed. I think I spent a good 10 minutes to total just go to the screen where I could power on a virtual machine, which is something that can been done in less than a minute using the traditional desktop client.

  • Just improved 5.0 to 6.0u2 vcenter.  How do eliminate you the web client certificate error?

We were a vSphere 5.0 shop for many years and enjoyed the client c# 4.0, 4.1 and 5.0 then days.  We just upgraded 6.0 Update 2 this week and although always, we are primarally used to the c# client and will use it for a while to come, I am getting used to the web client for the new features that are available only in it, such as SRM and VR.

I was able to click through the numours of screens of reminder to get via Firefox after all these certificate warnings and even easier just click the one or two things in Chrome or IE to get in.  But how could eliminate total certificate errors?  Example, now I'm with Chrome, but the https:// in the address bar is red with a slash through it.

In most all other device based on web or connection we have, as HP iLO, Dell iDrac etc... usually, we create a CSR on this device and it present our internal Windows certificate authority and recover a file to go back to the device.  Is it possible to do this with the web client?  We have a certificate of 'Server Web 2' model that generates the sha256 return certificate and inherently all field devices to trust him because the area is important our root certificate authority.

Also, we are running services such as replication vSphere and SRM, I would not change certificate affects only or same vSphere Update Manager.  We have two sites HQ and DR.

I ended up getting rid of the cert errors by following this page: 6 replacement vSphere SSL certificate / implementation by using the Certificate Manager-automation tool

I followed the procedures for "Certificate of Machine (Reverse HTTP Proxy) replace with certificate custom" and just that.  I didin 't' t mess with root VMCA with custom signature certificate certificate because its seems to me like he wanted to do an endless number of the signature of the certificate request and keys.  But the first option considered for our internal Windows CA took care of her.

For replication of vSphere 6.1.1 that I had to turn off the virtual devices from replication via customer web vSphere vSphere and then put them back on.  Then connect to their URL of web management (port 5490) and make the reconnection to the vsphere on the connection tab, where he was invited to accept the new certificate.

For AUVS I had to run the VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe under C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager and to the third option of re - register to vCenter, and then restart the service.

Surprisingly, SRM sites remained paired although I've read that some people have trouble with it.  I'm on 6.0 update 2 and I think one of the questions was fixed in 6.0 Update 1 b.

  • Operations Manager integration with vSphere Web Client

    Hello

One of the new features that I keep seeing credited for vCenter Operations Manager v5.6 is 'integration with vSphere Web Client'.

I went through the process of getting vCOps operational v5.6 (and everything works fine), but I don't see any integration with the Web Client.  Am I missing something obvious?  Where is the integration?  I have to do something to activate it?

    See you soon,.

    David

Take a look at the video on Eric Sloof vCOPS 5.6 integration with VMware vSphere Client Web blog post where he explains how to use the vCenter integration of Operations Manager with the Web Client vSphere.

  • "Convert a model" in the web client

In vSphere client one of the default options for a VMguest is to "convert a model."

I use it a lot, I have a couple of models, after a few weeks/months I convert a VM + updated everything what is necessary + convert model.

The conversions back are almost instantaneous.

With the web client, I can convert an existing model to become a virtual machine, but I can't find the option "convert to a model.

This means that if I want to update a model, I find myself with a long process of "clone model" and plus my original CD VM is left behind, requires me to remove it to clean the models folder.

If this option is not added, or have I missed something obvious?

If indeed, it is not available, does anyone know why it's been left in the first place?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

The option convert to model in the vCenter Web Client should be available in the "All actions of vCenter" section as shown in the attached picture. (This is the Web Client 5.1).

  • Dude where's my 5.8 SRM in vSphere Client? -Its in the Web Client

    Hi guys,.

    VC5.5U2, MRS. 5.8

    vSphere Client 5.5U2 build 1993072

I can't find the SRM in the vSphere Client. Under the Plugins section it says "Site Recovery Manager 5.8.0, no download on the client side is necessary for this plug-in."

It is here under the Web Client.

He's still in the vSphere Client?

BTW I have SRM installed but not configured at this stage.

    See you soon,.

    Steve

    Hello sjmeyers,

With the SRM 5.8 client version is more in c# vSphere Client. Please connect to the WebClient service and you'll see the RS icon there.

  • SRM 5.8 does not display an icon in the Web Client

I have a customer that has improved its server vCenter on the two sites of 5.5U1 to 5.5U2, a condition 5.8 SRM.

After what seems to be a successful installation of the SRM on both sites, I see NOT the RS icon on each site.

Tried to restart the VMware vCenter inventory Service

Services of SRM server and embedded database are running

I checked below and the ExtensionManager value, com.vmware.vcDr is actually present.

    Notes:

1 SRM is installed on the respective vCenter servers using the embedded DB ProstgresSQL

2 vcEnter also uses the embedded DB - there are only 3 hosts per site

    3. the total number of protected virtual machines expected to be 12

Any ideas? I know it's a new product, but we are here.

OK, this has been resolved. Here's the answer:

Customer said to have upgraded the server vCenter Server to 5.5U2, which he did. But...

    1. he could not also upgrade the inventory Service

    2. has failed to upgrade the Web Client

It is interesting that SRM 5.8 installation succeeded only after upgrading vCenter server, but the Installer do NOT also test the compatibility of the inventory also upgraded service.

Note that there is no current documentation reflecting this anywhere I could find. Refers only to the version of vCenter server.

    Done deal.

  • TMSPrint works only with the Web Player

I use TMSprint for all the impressions of my piece which works fine on the desktop. However, when you try to access the print function via the web player, I get a "TMsMPrint" module not found. All modules are loaded. I suspect that the tms_mp.dll module that seems to lead the process is the culprit - although I've had my ISP add the .dll type other than the reader needs, this doesn't work. It seems that TMSprint will not work on the web. Is this true?

If so are there any alternatives that will work, for example Printomatic?

With the help of your files and my localhost, I was able to understand the problem. He was not mprint.x32 this file is not required (it is an earlier version of MPrint). The problem was the line in the .aam that reads set DOWNLOAD. The "update" command actually did a directory change. All files listed after that it will go into the download folder until it reaches put an another command. You can see the dowload file if you open the web drive location while the piece is still ongoing in your browser, this is a temporary file that is deleted by the runtime during the shutdown. If you remove this line from the aam file then the file tms_mp.dll will in the right folder and it will work.

  • NetApp VSC v6.1 UI is missing from the Web Client v6.0u1

I recently updated my vCenter Server 5.5 to v6.0u1 (2k12r2 for Windows with backend SLQ 2012). With that I installed a fresh instance of Virtual Console storage NetApp v6.1. All was working perfectly until I've restarted the vCenter after about 2 weeks of operation of the new version. After you restart the gui NetApp VSC and features were missing completely on the web client. The plugin has always shown as active in the webclient service is, however, no GUI. Strangely when I try to disable the plugin from the web client, it refreshes and remains only set as active.

In heavy client, the icon was always present, however with the new version (6.1), no functionality can be achieved through this and you are just re-directed toward the Web Client of VMware. Backups were still underway at the scheduled time, even if the plugin was not visible in the Web Client.

    I tried the following:

    The re-registration plugin

-Stop webclient VC services, stripping any trace of com.netapp* of the VMware folder of the directory (program files and program data). Mainly located in the folder of vSphere-Client-serenity

    -Departure VC web customer service

    -Re-enrollment VSC with VC

    All the re - install

    -Stop services of VC

-Stripping any trace of com.netapp* of the VMware folder of the directory (program files and program data)

    -Stop services VSC

    -Do a complete uninstall

    -Remove the VSC installation directory

-Reboot server VSC to delete reg keys

-Install the new copy of VSC 6.1

    Re-record with the VC Server

The same question is observed. The plugin shows as being installed. The extension "com.netapp.nvpf.weblient" exists in the breast of the https://< vCenter > / mob. (see attached screenshot). The thick client still shows the plugin as permitted, as the web client. I still cannot see the interface user via the web client despite the plugin is installed and activated.

Tear out my hair with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Guys,

An update on this issue, it could be useful to resolve any other issues similar and research...

After 4months our case eventually made its way to the development of the web client team in VMware. The problem has been identified as a corrupted file in vCenter which is responsible for organizing the status "enabled/disabled' plugins customer web. Difficulty as follows:

    "C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\data\vSphere Web Client\SerenityDB\serenity\ALL\client.package.states.

    The solution was: -.

    • Delete the file
    • Open customer vcentre, administration, plugins
    • Disable a random plugin (this forces the State file recreate)
    • Exit vcentre and then reopen
    • Plugins should now be visible
    • Customer goto plugins and re - turn that which has been previously disabled

Good luck guys, it was a serious pain in the ass

  • performance of the 6.0 POS device in the web client.

I use the unit of POS 6.0 (6 to) for about a week now. I started adding backups more & more.

I find the very poor performance of the web client, especially when he's working on backups. In the 'Reports' section, sometimes it takes 10 to 15 minutes on "Loading of the report data" just to see failed or parties constituting the jobs.

The installation was made with all default values, 4CPU & 10 GB of ram on the x 3650 IBM & IBM DS3500 M4 hosts attached fiber SAN. Disk performance tests all passed.

Is this normal? The RAM can be increased, and would it be useful? It is almost unusable.

    Thank you.

So my problem was solved after a long support call with VMWare support.

The performance of navigation in the section of POS in the web client are now perfect.

Call technical support and mention VDPGUIPatch.zip. This is the file that must be connected to the POS device.

    I couldn't find a page k on it... I'm sorry.
