Standalone scripts

I am familiar with the importing a reg external using vbscript to start as follows:

Function OnFirstParentStart

ExecuteVirtualProcess "regedit /s C:\tmp\somereg.reg.

End Function

Is there a way to incorporate the * reg file in the virtual file system and run it from there so the solution is independent?

Example that doesn't seem to work:

Function OnFirstParentStart

ExecuteVirtualProcess "regedit /s % Personal%\somereg.reg.

End Function

Change the isolation will not display the file on the sandbox. A script is required to copy the file to the sandbox.

Please see the below the example script that copies the file 'saplogon.ini' of the project folder ThinApp (C:\DATA) to the sandbox (drive C). Isolation of record % drive_C should be merged.

Function OnFirstSandboxOwner

Dim objFSO, objFolder, WshShell, objShell, TargetPath, SourceFile

Set WshShell = CreateObject ("Wscript.Shell")

TargetPath = WshShell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("C:\Data\saplogon.ini")

Set objFSO = CreateObject ("Scripting.FileSystemObject")

SourceFile = ExpandPath ("C:\saplogon.ini")

If objFSO.FileExists (TargetPath) then

"do nothing

on the other

objFSO.CopyFile SourceFile, TargetPath

End If

End Function

I hope this helps.

    Hi Mike, I think that there are some old posts on similar problems. There is a known bug related. A quick test, please try to close to the top of the editor on the client PC. Right-click on the icon of the editor on the desktop and select Properties > Compatibility tab, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose "Windows 2000" in the menu drop-down. "" Check to see if that makes a difference.

    Hope that helps!

  • Nexus 5000 operating as a standalone FibreChannel Switch

    Hello world

    Does anyone know if the Nexus 5000 can be used as a standalone FibreChannel Switch? Which means I don't want to run NPV on this and connect it up to a MDS or a different type of switch FibreChannel. I'm looking to create a 'Pod' scenario. Where a few servers and a storage Bay would hang the 5K on a login F_Ports is local FLOGI DB and be able to use zoning and traffic went immediately from the 5K, etc etc? I know that 5 K is not a full blown fibre channel switch such that it has some limitations, but again I think to a "Pod" as scenario.

    If the script above won't work for some reason any using CF can achieve us with FCoE CNAs on servers & storage Bay?

    Finally, FC domain IDS how 5 K can cause?

    Sorry for the questions. I'm new to SAN switching at this stage.

    Thank you all!

    Yes, it works even FC code NX - OS like a switch MDS switch.

    You connect FC HBAS, ports SAN or FCoE CNAs to Nexus.

    However, you need to license storage.

    Yutaka Takatsuhas made the following response:

    This could be the known bug in the installer if your version of OATS has been upgraded oatmeal 12.5.0.2 of older versions.

    The bug mentioned above was created in the upgrade installer. For users improved 12.5.0.2 of earlier versions, please add - XX:-UseSplitVerifier to the arguments of start-up OpenScript as shown below.

    C:OracleATSopenScriptOpenScript.exe - configuration openscript_configuration - vm C:OracleATSopenScriptjrebinjavaw.exe - vmargs-Xmx512m - XX: MaxPermSize = 256 m - XX:-UseSplitVerifier

    Start > all programs > OATS > right-click OpenScript to select Properties > in the dialog box, copy the text in the 'Target' field and modify accordingly and stick it in return.

    For users who own 12.5.0.2 installed should already have this argument added to your OpenScript starts. This work around is required only for users who have upgraded to 12.5.0.2.5 days

    • David Gardner: Thanks Yutaka. When I saw my target in the start menu, it seemed to have the same starting point, but I think I was using an old OpenScript shortcut that was not in force. In all cases, the problem seems to have been resolved. Again, thank you.

    Hi all, I have a question.

    I create interactions in Adobe animate using AS3.

    I have 3 moviclips each is a standalone game / interaction.

    How can I script a button that will play one of the moviclips randomly, and then when the Player returns to the main timeline and the button is pressed again the user are sent randomly to one of the other movieclips? I don't want the user to see the same moviclip twice in a row.

    Hello again,

    Sorry for the late reply. Text blocks clicks. If you generate yourself text then it is on a layer that is 'superior' or above the shape. If you attach the click event to the form, then the text can intercept it. This happens to a lot of people who draw a button shape and then add text on the timeline in the upper layer where the text interferes with the click.

    When I'm generating the dynamic text, I updated the TextField property .mouseEnabled = false; Try to do this to see if it solves your problem.

    for example

    yourNewTextField.mouseEnabled = false;

    Then see if you can click your button.

    Hello

    However, yesterday we removed an input parameter in a workflow of some (and also deleted from the script) and now it fails.

    After the change, the input parameters are: vmName (String), vmPassword (SecureString)

    It turns out that, in the XML input, which is passed to the server vCO, the password parameter type spec can be , but the definition of its value must be specified using ....

    For example:

                            secret

  • Script for a specific host info

    Hi all

    Totally new to powershell/powercli...

    Have been out successfully a report to csv format to view the details of ESXi hosts. I know that's not the best scenario, but it does the trick so far.

    My question is (as I couldn't find properties for this): can we get information about the DIMM (s) installed on ESXi hosts and add to the script?

    Comments are appreciated

    $filename = "c:\reports\HostDetails_" + $filedate + ".csv".

    Get-vmhost | Select Name, @{Name = "DNS"; {Expression = {$_.NetworkInfo}}, @{Name = 'File'; Expression = {$_.} Parent}}, @{Name = "Standalone"; Expression = {$_.} IsStandalone}}, @{Name = 'ESXi Version'; Expression = {$_.} Version}}, @{Name = "ESXi Build"; Expression = {$_.} Build}}, @{Name = 'Model HW'; Expression = {$_.} Model}}, @{Name = "Processor Type"; Expression = {$_.} ProcessorType}}, @{Name = "Total RAM"; Expression = {[math]: tour ($_.)} (MemoryTotalGB, 0)}}, @{Name = "BIOS Version"; Expression = {$_.} ExtensionData.hardware.biosinfo.BiosVersion}}, @{Name = 'BIOS release Date'; Expression = {$_.} ExtensionData.hardware.BiosInfo.ReleaseDate}} | Export-csv $filename - NoType

    The best and most of the time the only way to recover the info is through the interface of the CIM.

    Try the attached script (updated the hostname and credentials)...

  • The value of VM Notes or Description for Standalone ESXi

    Hello

    Is it possible to define the description/Notes field for a virtual machine on a stand-alone ESXi host through powershell cli power? I tried to use set - vm - machine virtual VMNAME-Notes "some_text" - confirm: $false and it can not... It works very well for virtual machines in our Vcenter infrastructure. Problem is that we have some places that are running standalone ESXi hosts.

    Also regarding the custom attributes...

    Are there warnings custody or differences I should be aware of the use of the custom attributes with Vcenter 4/ESXi 4.x and 5.x Vcenter5/ESXi with custom attributes?

    Are there warnings to update custom attributes or the Notes field while a virtual machine is running? I'll add a field by using the script on the site of Alan Renouf.

    Thanks in advance

    As far as I know that is only available when connected to vCenter.

    No warnings to assign a custom to a VM power attribute

    However when I check the deployments in the console, I don't see my deployed application.
    I see no error as well output.

    can anyone suggest where I'm wrong?

    Thank you.

    Happy that you do your research :-)

    Yep, wlst is the best option for a generation automated. Using wlst provides options to configure your MDS application. I should have one of my python deploy scripts somewhere. For this, I'm going to watch tonight.

  • Add Standalone workflow fails...

    I'm clearly missing something in what concerns the use Orchestrator and hope I can a little nudge in the right direction.

    I tried to add a stand-alone ESXi 4.1 host to vCenter Server. The workflow for adding a stand-alone host (Workflows > vCenter > host management > recording > Add standalone host) fails everytime I try to use it. The error message I see is:

    "AddStandaloneHost_Task" task error: the authenticity of the host SSL certificate is not verified. (Name of the dynamic Script Module: vim3WaitTaskEnd #20)

    I can't find out where to install the host SSL certificate. This error refers to the vCenter Server SSL certificate or the ESXi host SSL certificate?

    Thank you, in advance, for your help.

    Hi Ken!

    It's a well-known (not good) workflow limitation included.

    Find the solution here:

    http://communities.VMware.com/docs/doc-14363

    Thanks goes to Andreas :-)!

    Cordially, and have fun with vCO :-)

  • Script to change the BIOS VMX. UUID value?

    Due to how transfer us models of VM to stand-alone ESXi 4.1 guests before their junction to vCenter, the UUID for the models come out the same. We use Veeam Backup to restore the templates, so they can be compressed enough to fit on a DVD.

    I'm looking for a little PowerShell script that can define a custom BIOS. Value of UUID for a VM named on ESXi 4.1. 1002403 KB VMware has a Pearl script that allows you to do this, but we are a store of PowerShell and would make it easier for us to customize in the future. Ideally, the script would generate a UUID Pseudo-aleatoires without user intervention. For example, to set the last six digits to use the current month, day, and minute (MMDDMM, for example 100111).

    vCenter will create of course unique UUID for our production of VMs, so it's only to manage the initial models, that we download to standalone servers in "factory".

    Ideas?

    Try something like this

    $vmName =
    $newUuid =

    $spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec
    $spec.uuid = $newUuid
    $vm = Get-VM -Name $vmName
    $vm.Extensiondata.ReconfigVM_Task($spec)

    Note that the call to the method it is more simple forms, not waiting for the completion of the task, no error checking.

    As a first step, you must necessarily swatches Pantone in your document.

    Then it's easy:

    Change this:

    // measurement line color
    var color = new RGBColor;
    color.green = 255;
    color.blue = 0;

    to do this:

    // measurement with Pantone line color
    var color = doc.swatches.getByName('Pantone 485 C').color

    That's all.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 guard emphasizing < script > when compiling

    It's on windows 7 64 bit. Whenever I compile automatically because I saved a file, if the file is a mxml file, it takes the focus away where I was working and highlights the node root from there where I worked, as the script tag if I code actionscript. Outside what is frustrating, it often it several times throughout the compilation, so if I go back to where I was, and continue to work it often brings back me to the script tag still once.

    I couldn't find any mention of this problem anywhere, and it never happened in version 4.0. I use the standalone version. Anyone has an idea why it is doing this, and suggestions on how to fix it? It gets really irritating and counterproductive.

    Thank you

    Looks like you're facing https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-30213

    A workaround is to disable design mode by activating / disabling window-> the design mode.
