Standard account included games problem

Hi all

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I found nothing.
The problem I have is that I have a Win 7 64 bit PC with user accounts four, two administrator and two standard (for children).
On two standard accounts, you cannot open the games like Minesweeper, solitaire, Mahjong and so on.
I activated all the games on all accounts via my administrator account, I took leave unrestricted game with Mircosoft Family Safety and yet nothing that I don't seem to be able to leave the standard accounts running these applications.
All the words or wisdom would be appreciated.
Thank you
Patrick

I would not have thought it would apply to Windows games, but many games require one
account administrators to run, so maybe if you try this, you can run the games
using a standard account.

R / click on the games shortcut and go to properties-compatibility and check the following box ot
Run... administrator.

  • Problem with the touchpad: Tap to click does not work if I use a standard account

    Hi all

I have a problem with my laptop that I don't understand and I need help from the community.
As the title says... If I connect to my laptop using a standard account the touchpad does not work if I try to tap to click. Left and right buttons work, move the slider works, works of scrolling, but endearing tape... not even a single tap. If I log in with my account as an administrator, the touchpad works like a charm, no problems. Tap to click and everything you want. If I disconnect the admin account and sign in as a standard user, the problems are back again. I can move the cursor, click on the two buttons (left, right), but I can't type to click...

I tried to reinstall the driver for the touchpad (which is MOMENTUM...) but it did not. I tried to see if there is any option that can prevent this tapping or something... but in the control panel > Touchpad > Tap is turned on. A strange thing in the control panel of the Touchpad is that [when loggend as a standard user] I get an error "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click on continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click on exit the application will close immediately. "and a new line saying"index was outside the bounds of the array. If I click on continue the error disappears, but reappears if stationary "double-tap" enable/disable option. If I click on leave the Touchpad Control Panel closes...

All this trouble occurs only when I use the standard account. With the administrator account, I don't get any errors so I soar options, disable them, activate them and most importantly, the tap to click works.

What is the problem with the standard account?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.

    Can someone help me please?

He returns constantly with the message: unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, consult your system administrator

I have read many previous posts on this issue, but it seems that nobody has provided a solution that I can find!

    Hi TeenaWilson,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for the query display. Looks like you are not able to modify the parental control on a standard account.

    Try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result.

See: How can I change the behavior of user account control by using the slider?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I suggest to create a new administrator account and log later in the new administrator account, try to set parental controls and check if it works.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

If the problem persists not in the new user account, try and fix the damaged user account, follow the link below:

Difficulty of a damaged user profile

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

    Method 3:

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if TI the problem persists. To do this, please see the following article.

The SFC/SCANNOW command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. For more information how to make SFC / scan, please follow the following link:

  • I can't connect to a standard account

My computer became very slow, so I have installed Advanced SystemCare Free 6. After I installed it, I run all the tests on my computer. Because it was late at night, I put it to turn off the computer after that it finished. The next day, when I turn on the computer, a few lines of command indicating "defrag" when starting. I guess it's "Boot Time Defrag". Then it restarts automatically. Once the login screen appeared, I tried to connect to one of the standard accounts. Strangely, it disconnect you and I can not open a session as he log out again. I tried to log on to an administrator account and I was able to open a session. Thinking that only the administrator accounts can connect, I changed all the administrator accounts. I disconnect and connect to another account, and I successfully connect. I uninstalled the program and tried to restore the system at a time when the program is still running tests. I restart my computer and "Boot Time Defrag" appears again and rebooted my computer. Still, I can't log on. I had to change the type of account again in order to connect. All links to the program are also be restored even after uninstall. But the program files are missing. I had to reinstall and uninstall the program. The next day, I opened Google Chrome. I wanted to play a game online that works best with Internet Explorer. But when I opened it, it will be automatically closed. It also happened when I opened Firefox.

(Sorry for the long story, but I want to give all the details I can)

    So, there are three issues:

    1. Why I can't log on to an account standard but can connect to an administrator account?
    2. Why I can't open Internet Explorer and Firefox but able to open Google Chrome?
    3. How to restore the computer without having to do the "Boot Time Defrag". (I do not have a previous restore point)

Answers 1 and 2 could be registry problems. Answer 3 is systemrestore since aboottime defrag does nothing to help recover. Uninstall Firefox, download a new copy and install it. Create a new account to standard user and see that solves the connection problems out. Stop using the CSA so far

  • The standard account users are able to access the files of in the administrator account.

Original title: help with the Standard of Windows 7 user account

I'm completely lost as to how I can possibly set it up on my computer. Here's the scenario, we don't have that one computer that all we share.

I use my computer for the working documents and other important files that I do not want others to have access to, my only siblings uses the computer to access the internet to check their emails, games, regular and other navigation.
I created an administrator account for me and a single standard user account to allow them their use, but not be able to make changes or install things without my consent. But the problem is that they are, log on with a standard user, they still manage to access the file on my "my documents" of the administrator account.
As I check, they were able to do by accessing the C:\ drive > users > My Name here > my documents.
I tried it myself using the standard account and I was able to make the changes/remove files store on my files of administrator account without even receive a warning or be asked an admin password.
Is it possible for me to avoid this? How can I prevent someone using a standard account to access files on my administrator account? Or better yet, can you please provide steps on how to do a standard user cannot account not able to access to the "Users" folder in the C:\ drive?
Is it also possible to have the only able to access their personal files user account?
    Any help is appreciated.

Here are the key to your problem:

    B. users (HomePC\Users) - check (Allow) "Read & Execute", "List folder and content," finally "to read"...
You must add your account name and give him full access, then remove the marks of graduation for "users".
Unwanted permissions have been applied probably because you activated the group home environment and shared your own folders. There is a network issue, not a safety issue. I know little about this feature of Windows 7 and recommend that you ask the networking experts for advice in this forum.

I really don't know what to do, because when I have access to the link that was suggested by the program (Games for Windows - LIVE), I always get into my page at Xbox.com, but everything goes well with my account here.
The error code is: 80154017 (and I've not found in my research to the Microsoft Web page).
I really hope that this error can be resolved as soon as possible, because most of the games I own use Games for Windows - LIVE to connect online.

    Hi Redfah,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

It seems that the country in which you are located is not a country supported for LIVE services.

The Games for Windows LIVE service is available only for a limited set of countries.

Unfortunately, if you are not located in one of those, you will not be able to use these services.

A full list of supported countries can be found on the given link:

    http://www.Xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm

You can also check with the Xbox support for the updated list of countries.

  • I changed my administrator account to standard account by mistake...

    Hello

My Vista Home Premium has 1 account, an administrator account. I had the a/c turned off comments. By mistake I changed this 1 account for a standard account. Now every action that requires an administrator account is showing me a promt asking a computer ASP.Net account... password.

I think that this asp.net account I had deleted or removed a year ago. I can not okey this prompt, I don't know what password to enter. So now that I'm stuck, I can't do something that requires admin rights.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Karl

Hi, I'm having the same problem, I remember I changed my administrator password and I forgot.

You do not have the same problem as redhalls.

You have changed a new password and you forget what is the new password. Yes?
If so, remember your old password?
If Yes, try to use this tutorial:

IMPORTANT NOTE: this works in cases where you changed your password to something new and then has forgotten or deleted a user account by accident. So that this works, there must be a restore point from the system during which logging has managed on behalf of problem for the benefit of other people looking for answers, please mark the suggestion as answer if it solves your problem.

  • Changed to a Standard account administrator accounts

    From: NDanielle

    Hi all

I recently started having the access denied errors to the basic images of MyDocuments/My files.

After some research, I realized that ALL of my account, but who were administrators, have been replaced by Standard accounts, they are still as administrator account to the connection - but in Panel for configuration / accounts they say Standard.

I enabled the system to the command prompt administrator account and I can work from that - however, even in the system administrator account that I can't change users 'standard' back to the administrator.

    1. I guess than some grand GOLD corruption that happened

    2. a virus you have for me?

I checked the event viewer to see if something happened but cannot decrypt something important was happening.

    Issues related to the:

    1. what would happen (I've seen many posts where this has happened)-what is the root of this problem.

    2. If you disable UAC, which changes all the standard?  That would be silly, but it could be.

3 dang - it sucks - but rock on Vista!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't need a solution other that how to change things back so I don't have to go spend a ton of files autour.

    Thank you very much!

    Nicole

    From: Claudine

It seems to be pretty common that disable UAC and doing other things to make Vista more XP-like can cause some strange problems. I don't know if all admin accounts becoming standard accounts is linked to that.

You said that you cannot change the status of admin for the built-in Administrator account, but you do not specify whether or not you can create another (new) administrator account.

I was also curious whether or not you have used Group on this system policy editor.

I'll try to be helpful, but don't get your hopes up. I'm more curious than

    brilliant.

  • User account in W7 problem

I have 2 settings of user accounts: Admin and Standard in Win7/Pro.   99% of the time and the Admin account, I use the standard account for applications that will work on the admin account.

I had Win 7 since December 2009 and it worked smoothly on my new X 200. Last month, I found a problem with my user accounts. When I disconnect an account and switch to another account, Win 7 support a temporary profile.  It works in two ways (disconnect or other accounts and the other does not).  To resolve this problem, I have to restart.  I can connect to either account after the reboot.

If I switch users without logging first, it works very well.  Not sure if this is a windows problem or a X 200 problem.  I use mode 'sleep' 99% of the time, so after my system woke up I have to go back to the same user account that I used before I put the system to sleep or I get the loading of the temporary user profile.   Anyone else having this problem on a X 200 or Win7?    Like to think that I'm not crazy!

NB: I have 2 user accounts on my Vista and XP systems, and I have this problem.

I spent 2 weeks of searching on the Microsoft Forums, Google and asking COMPUTER technicians what they think.

COMPUTER technicians are aware of the problem and have never been able to fix it (permanently). They remove the registry for their customers (but the problem always comes back).  Google says do a removal of the registration of your profile (temp fix) and some users of MS Forum suggest this route also. I choose to restart.

Finally, I came across an answer from Microsoft TechNet for the exact problem.  If you are interested, here is a link...  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947238

Yes, unfortunately GFWL's an imperfect system. Steam has similar problems. I find the best way to avoid
problems is to play all the games that are related to a system off line.
I have absolutely no interest in what GFWL can offer online, in any case.
Many games have a "fix" for GFWL, which are generally easy to find through a search.
Of course these only help facilitate offside line.

Try Timeslips Fable 3 GFWL remover - it is well known in the modding community, particularly
