  I have a laptop A200.

  I recently bought a PCI expresscard HD. Many people have asked this question already on many sites and regarding several different brands and models of laptops. According to anadtech and other techys the only way to do an ExpressCard hd is updated the BIOS. During the installation of Windows it says that it canoe on the device because the BIOS is not able to boot from it.

  Toshiba creates a new BIOS to allow starting the expresscard hd or not Toshiba have a laptop model that will allow already, as im thinking of buying a new laptop but only if this option is available.

  There someone using windows vista/xp knows a way round.

  As far as I know it s not possible to boot from PCI express card on Satellite A200.
  In addition these books where you can boot from this slot are not known to me. Only the options HDD, CD/DVD, USB and network, but all that s.

  I'm confused about what type of adapter should I buy for my expansion slot, on the button, it says that my laptop have card PCI II type: type: express card slot.

  So far what I've read, it's the type of card PCI II differ from Express card. I just need to know what my machine supports, a card 54mm or 34 mm card, 16-bit or 32-bit, I don't know, I need to buy an adapter for esata interface to connect my NAS via esata to my laptop for more speed.

  Can someone enlighten me on this point, please?

  Did you look in the user manual?
  There are details on the M60 Series.

  But AFAIK the M60-104 unit supports the Cardbus 32-bit/PC-Card 16-Bit interface.
  For example, you can use 1 x PCMCIA Type II only and 1 x ExpressCard.

• PCI USB 3.0 Express card does not work

  Discription of the system:

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-520nl desktop PC
  • Processor Intel Core i7 - 2600
  • Memory 6 GB
  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
  • Service Pack 1
  • The map of USB 3.0 pci card the "HP-lable" is printed. Therefore an alaaa by HP original card.

  My HD portabale with USB3.0 interface is not recognized. Also all USB 2.0 memory sticks are NOT regonised by this card pci of USB 3.0.

  I searched on the web, this forum ect. and posible all software and drivers updated.

  Now at least there's no sign of escalmation in the Windows Device Manager.

  There are no errors in Windows and by double clicking on each and evry device a puppy window says: "device is functioning! (But when I put in a usb in the port USB3 device, nothing happens, not even a new drive appears under 'Computer'.)

  OK maybe the card is the default, so I bought at a local PC store a new one (Konig CMP-PCIE2USB3), but same problem.

  Well maybe the PCI slot is the problem... I put the card HP in the free location. But still no luck.

  Now I have 2 PCI USB 3.0 Express card in my office, but no USB 3.0 for my USB 3.0 devices connection.

  All USB 2.0 ports are working well.

  Help, please.

  

  I uninstall the original card and don't forget to remove the driver. Then install the Konig CMP-PCIE2USB3 and install the driver from the Web site. Don't forget to attach the molex 4 pin of your power supply.

• Card PCI Express causes conflict w/ethernet card

  When I install the card PCI/MXI express, it causes a conflict with my existing ethernt card and will not allow the CPU to register on the network.  When I remove the PCI card, the problem goes away.  Is there something I need to set up to prevent this?

  What the MXI device?  What is the model number and part (e.g., PCIe-8361 and C 195315 - 01 L)?  I've seen this behaviour before with a PCIe-8361 and to relieve this symptom I made sure a PXI system power has been connected to the MXI controller before turning off the computer.  I would be interested in hearing if this works for you.

  I would buy a card PCI-Express to Support 2 x e-SATA Port. The card can only installed in a PCI-Express Slot Interface. Windows Vista Ultimate German, 32-bit Version with SP1, real drivers and patches on my XPS PC.

  I'm not sure, that the card can be installed on my XPS 720 desktop computer.

  Currently work driving my Seagate FreeAgent Pro on the IEE1394 (e.g. Firewire) Port, but the speed is currently very poor.

• Card PCI-E passthrough

  I have a HP DL380p with ESXi 5.1.0 u1 gen8. The machine has a riser card PCI-E with a customized PCI-E card called "VP Mark IV" made and used by a relatively small company. The map is shown with 'lspci' or ' esxcli pci list material. The command esxcli tells me that the map isn't passthrough capable. No matter what I try, I can't it appears in the list of devices passthru.

  Because the map is behind a PCI bridge I disabled the control of ACS: "esxcfg-advcfg - k TRUE disableACSCheck.

  My question:

  (1) I want to move this device to a guest operating system. VMware does need a driver for this card to be able to get through?

  (2) how VMware to determine if a device is capable of passthru?

  (3) any idea what is the problem here?

  in recent weeks, I have the problem that my ESXi host freezes sometimes when the power of a Windows VM to 10 with a NVidia Quadro 2200 PCI passthrough and today I received a GROUP.

  

  In my view, what happens first after installation of the patch released on 23/02/2016.

  Is it possible that an update is responsible for my problem? I think a new clean install with 6.0U1b to test whether an update is causing my problem.

  In the vmkernel.log, this line should be the following line when you start the virtual machine is:

  Okay I replaced my server hardware and re-use all (NVidia Quadro, card QLogic FC and Teradici Apex) expansion cards.

  The problem disappeared, so something on the motherboard or cpu was broken...

  Well as you say this laptop supports a simply Express card slot.
  The Express card expansion slot supports two standard module formats;
  An Express card/34 module and a module of the express 54 card.

  If your card 3G does not support one of this form and will not be able to use it in the Express card slot!
  Make sure that this card supports one of these two the specification before you try to insert!

  It supports 2 GB RAM max,

  You can use the ExpressCard - USB3.0 but you must make sure that it has. FYI: I have test after 3 or 4 years back and from my experience, just lose money. They have the best driver now.
