Standing with Excel when converted to PDF comments

I have an excel document that I have comments on. When I hover over the cell, the comment appears. Is it possible to create a PDF file and retain this function?

I have Acrobat Pro XI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi tonyl52182500,

I'm sorry but there is no such settings in Acrobat that will help you keep the comments in Excel while converting to PDF.

Kind regards
Nicos

A PDF file is like any other file that you can use on a web site. You can set up a link to the pdf file once you download the PDF file on a site. I heard on the GoDaddy, but really don't know anything about. Your question relates to the use of this site, not PDF as such. More details to help us on how to use on a web site.

  • MS Word footer ends the first element of the order when converting to PDF for reading content

Does anyone else have this problem?  We have a model of large paper on department letterhead (MS Word 2010) with header and footer and converting to PDF using Acrobat Pro XI (v11.0.13.17), the walk ends by order at the top the reading list.  In any case to stop this from happening?

Hi Matthew, when you are referring to the order of reading, looking in the content pane, pane hierarchy, or the component Tags - or maybe elsewhere? The Tags pane provides the reading order for the assistive technology (at). As general rule, repeating footers must be marked as background artifacts, so they will not appear in the Tags pane and will be ignored by AT. According to my experience, Word to PDF conversion sometimes does a better job than other times, but there is always a certain amount of manual fixes to get accessible PDF.

  • Why FM hangs when you import PDF comments?

I'm under FM 9.0p255 on Windows 7 and using Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 (running Windows XP on another computer) to enable comments in Adobe Reader. After you save the file, in Windows 7 I open Adobe Reader 9.2.0 and make comments, then save the file. In FM 9, I open my file of 2 pages and import pdf comments. FM blocks. I tried everything to eliminate the problem, all the way to the creation of a file of FM with just the words "this is a test" in it. I went through the process of review of Acrobat and added a Word. When I tried to import pdf comments, I got this error:

"The date of the change of the source file is newer than the date of creation of the tagged PDF. Comments PDF can not be imported correctly. Click Yes to continue. »

When I click Yes, FrameMaker crashes.

What is strange, is that my file of FM 2011-08-05 16:39 as the update.

My commented PDF has 08/05/2011 16:43 as the update.

I tried to restart my computer and that did not help. Anyone know anything else I can try?

Linda, I wonder if there are some 'conflict' is raised because you are using Windows 7 and Windows XP.

Specifically, I wonder if the two systems have shifted the timestamp, and thats why FM is to give the "most recent creation date" problem.

I understand not what role the XP system a in your test, however - you can not only use FM == and is make the PDF on the same Win7 box, comment on this box, then import the comments?

Naturally, you may eventually be able to import comments from all sorts of other systems, but for troubleshooting you might try to create-comment-import cycle on only Win7 box?

If it works, then you could see, you can set the system time in the XP box to be a little slower than the Win7 box and try again with the XP box into the mix.

Edit: change that the system clock is suggested as a test procedure to see if we can isolate the exact cause, I do not pretend that all your reviewers to work reliably would need synchronize their systems :-)

  • Removal of the stamp header and footer when converted to PDF format?

When converting documents, such as HTML files or text in PDF, Acrobat creates headers and footers containing document titles, the path, and a timestamp. Is there a way to remove this feature, such as the PDF contains only the content of the document being converted? I checked the printing parameters for various programs and sifted through the settings and the settings for the Distiller, but I had no chance.

There are many places to do this, you may adjust the layout of your web browser and the settings of web conversion in the Acrobat plug in the web browser or in the Acrobat application for the ' file => create a file PDF-Online Web page... ».

  • CAD drawings can be flattened when converted to PDF format - OR - software free Adobe can flatten a PDF file?

I get CAD drawings converted to PDF format on a regular basis to clients using various CAD software systems.  Almost always, the PDF retains the layers created in the CAD document.  Preserving layers significantly slows down the loading time of the PDF and increases the file size as well in my opinion.  If the layers are not selectable or in a list, I can see load a (ie. topo, plans floor, title, block, etc.) on each page of the PDF file.  Does anyone know how to remove the overlay effect?  I heard the PDF file must be "crushed" or perhaps the CAD software is export to PDF there is a parameter that would flatten the layers.  However, I have not the possibility on my PDF software to flatten, and my architects/clients use different CAD software systems, so I don't know how to educate to flatten documents.

    Hi Katie,

You can flatten the pdf using Acrobat, here's how: choose Tools > print > Overview of flattening.

  • Error when converting a PDF to Excel ExportPDF service online

    Hello

I'm trying to convert a fairly large PDF (~ 26 MB, or ~ 4400 pages) in an Excel spreadsheet, and I get an error message when the PDF file is uploaded to the server and then the tool indicates that it is the 'conversion '.  I saw a previous thread on this problem, which shows the PDF for this limit is 100 MB, so I don't know why it continues to be.  Are there other limitations, should I be aware of?

    Thank you

    -Joe

    Hi JoeBoy67,

Even if your file is in the 100 MB file size limit, looks like it's maybe too complex for ExportPDF complete the conversion before expiring (4400 pages is a lot!).

You can consider an Acrobat of the trial, so that you can convert the file via Acrobat. Since the conversion happens locally with Acrobat, you meet the constraints of Web bandwidth/connection speed. You can download a free trial of 30 days from this page: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial version | Acrobat Pro DC.

  • How to remove the header and page number when converting to PDF

I am using Windows 7 and you have Acrobat 8.1 installed. When I right click on a .txt file and choose "Convert to Adobe PDF" in the context menu, it will save a pdf file in the same folder as my file with the same file name .txt. When I open the pdf file, there is a header with the file name and page numbers at the bottom.

How can I adjust the preferences to omit the header and page numbers? I have a click with the right button on the Adobe PDF printer in the control panel "Printers" and looked through properties and 'Adobe PDF settings' in the preferences, but don't find any options for headers and footers.

    Thanks in advance.

What you describe is based on the configuration of the running text editor.
Here, the configuration is such that the content described is part of what is migrated to the PDF file when the PDF is created.

Modify the appropriate configuration of the text editor and the created PDF will no longer spam.

    Example - using Notepad window:

Click path = file - layout

In the presented dialog box, you can adjust the configuration.

While Acrobat "PDFMaker" allows configure us the interactive "improvements" and others as in a file PDF created, it is always application configuration of creating files creation that sets the 'meat and potatoes' of the content of the PDF created.

    Be well...

  • Remove file path when converting to PDF format?

Is there a setting somewhere that I can change so that when I convert a TXT or HTML file to PDF path does not appear on the bottom of each PDF page? Currently the conversion I get something along these lines of file:///F|/Folder/254126.txt[06-Aug-11 20:34:02] on the bottom in a font smaller than the rest of the page.

Is it possible to disable this or is just something I have to live with?

I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

Parameters for the conversion of the HTML and text pages are not in the preferences panel, they are buried in the web capture widget:

Open the tool pane > Pages > more Insert Options > create PDF from Web Page.

    Click on "settings".

Uncheck "headers to Place... ", click OK and then cancel to close the capture dialog box.

  • Why I see additional codes alongside stars of Word when converting to PDF?

When I convert a Word document to PDF format, the finished result shows codes left of any text that has a heading style. They are tiny (but visible) when the magnification is set to 100%, but if you increase the magnification, you can see that they have a system of sequential numbers - first = 0b, the second = 1 b, the third = 2B, etc. (see image below for example)

Extra codes with Headings in Word.png

I'm using Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM snap-in to convert the file and use the word 2013 to create the original document.

  • Hyperlink does not work when converting to PDF

    I have InDesign CS3 (v. 5.0.4) installed on a Dell Latitude E6520 with Win 7 Pro SP 1, 64-bit, processor i5 and 8 GB of RAM.

I use InDesign to create a newsletter, and normally I have no problem when I insert a hyperlink in the InDesign document and then export the InDesign document to PDF.  Normally, the links in the PDF file.

However, I encountered a problem with this link:

    http://AppFT.USPTO.gov/netacgi/NPH-parser?Sect1=PtO2 & Sect2 = HITOFF & u = % 2Fnetahtml % 2FPTO % 2Fse arch - adv.html & r = 14 & p = 1 & f = G & l = 50 & d = PG01 & S1=%2820130321.PD.+AND+Google.AS.%29%mtsegdgt & OS = PD 20130321 + AND + YEAR / Google & RS=%28PD/20130321+AND+AN/Google

It does not work in the PDF, I use the new hyperlink Destination/New hyperlink function, or simply use the URL.  I get the same error if I open the document in Acrobat 8 Pro or reader XI:

    Error #2406

Error: Process ended abnormally. Document may be truncated.

If I use the Go To Destination function in InDesign, the links work.

Can someone tell me what to do to make this link work in the PDF?

This link is supposed to go in one fell swoop? When I copy into my browser address field, it takes me to the patent office and pours me on page 14 of 217 from a search query. Maybe that's the problem?

  • docx numbers {Page} in the header not showing numbers when converting to PDF

I use Acrobot 8.1.2, MS Word 2007 and convert a .docx in .pdf file.

I {Page} and {NumPages} field codes in my header and int the docx file they show correctly 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc. But when I convert it to .pdf, they remain in the form {Page} on {NumPages}.

Y at - it a setting or another technique to get these to show correctly in the PDF?

    Thank you

I suspect that you will get the same result if you print on paper. I just created a header using the fields you mentioned. In the view of the document, they displayed as you wish. I then use PDF Maker to create a PDF file and they came out very well. Also, I made an impression to the Adobe PDF printer and got good results.

I used WORD 2007, AA8.1.6 and VISTA Business. I remember correctly, there is a setting in WORD (sorry, I'm not a big user of WORD) select this option to print the titles you've got or the information I had. I don't know where this selection, but I'm sure it's a feature of WORD. You can also view the preferences of the PDF Maker (create PDF) or the Adobe PDF printer in case I missed something, but I do not. I think remember me that in the past and discovered that it was a matter of WORD - about 4 years ago.

  • Why the characters of the code are displayed next to headings in Word when converting to PDF?

We use Acrobat X (10.0.0) and Acrobat Pro DC (version 2015.006.30033) on Windows 7 Enterprise.

Converting Word documents to PDF format, additional code characters are added to the titles in the Word document and PDF bookmarks.

These characters are very difficult to remove the Word documents and PDF.

Y at - it an Acrobat patch that resolves this problem for both versions of Acrobat?

    Hi Nicole,

Yes, you need to install updates.

For Acrobat X, you need to install updates using this link ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/10.x/ make sure that install you them in a sequence.

For Acrobat DC, simply open Acrobat DC, go to the Help menu and check for updates.

Once that is done, try to reproduce the problem.

    Kind regards
