• HP Photosmart C4580 Wireless - can't get to work

  I just had to get a new computer and a new printer.  While I was there, I set up a wireless network.  I am running Windows Vista 64-bit on the new computer (gateway) and a HP Photosmart C4580 printer with wireless capability.  I can't the printer to work regularly.  Whenever I have reinstall, it works very well until it's the computer goes to sleep or stops.  Then, it no longer works.  Reinstall... it works... sleep, it stops working... vicious circle.

  I spent hours with HP cat trying to solve this problem and even more time to try to find me a solution.  This is my first HP product and I must say that I am at the end of my mind with him.  I can't believe that I'm the only one on Earth with a similar problem, but I can't find any help anywhere.  I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I did not have enough experience to understand and can't seem to find someone who does.

  I'd appreciate any help I can get at this point.  This is my last resort before you give up and go back to Dell!

  I have a few questions and suggestions:

  1. The IP address of the printer, the computer or both changes over time?
  2. I recommend that you set a computer DHCP reservation and the printer.  Connect to your wireless router, look for LAN Configuration, address reservation.  You should see a list of clients connected to the wireless router.  Define bookings of at least the printer and the computer.
  3. The SW (sorry about that) to uninstall and reinstall.

  With the IP address of the computer and the printer now set, the SW should not have problems to find the printer when it wakes up from sleep (I hope).

  BTW - unless you are using a surge protector, very inexpensive, the printer should be fine tuned on.   I think that the Councils to plug the printer directly into the wall, as a way to solve the problems SW is very interesting.

  I have a laptop HP G70-468NR and a HP Photosmart C4580 all in one printer/scanner/copier.

  Originally implemented on Windows Vista, I used to have the printer works wirelessly. However, I upgraded the computer to windows 7, and now I can print is more wireless. I tried to redo the entire disk of the printer, but I stopped at every time. I can print with a cable connection, but I want my wireless back please.

  In addition, please note that I am not too experienced with computers or some of the lingo.

• HP Photosmart C4580 Wireless problem - Snow Leopard

  My HP Photosmart C4580 has worked for wireless (albeit a bit slowly) until I made 2 changes:

  (a) I changed my router SSID (network name) and password

  (b) I have upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard

  At first I tried to use the HP configuration utility to reconfigure the network my printer wireless.  It doesn't not work - he told me that my printer to be connected via USB, while he was already.  I tried different things and ended up reset wireless to the printer (using the printer menu).

  Then, in the HP that I read that HP utilities do not work with Snow Leopard help files.  But the instructions for wireless network with my snow leopard printer did not work.  I could install my printer via USB (and downloaded driver), but it does not appear on the list without wire.  I couldn't find a way to configure wireless with USB connection, as I already had when I initially set up my printer with Leopard.

  Video instructions to set up wireless for Mac (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Macintosh&thread.id=231) seemed promising, because it would finally give me a chance to give my printer on my network information.  Wireless Network Test report gives the network name (SSID hpsetup) (since I have reset the settings), that I found promising, although only under IP address, he said 'not applicable' (and obviously fails it test under 'Network name found' failed-it).  However, my macbook can't take any hpsetup network and on the network Page Configuration I printed the network status is 'offline', Active connection Type is None, URL is 0.0.0.0.  Apparently my printer cannot connect to this network hpsetup.

  I have spent a few days on this and I am completely at a loss to know what to do.  Can someone please advise?  Thank you very much.

  OK, we can solve the problem.

  First you uninstall the 10.5 HP software before installing 10.6?  If this isn't the case, we might as well do it now.

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt, as well as Apple and click on uninstall
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, this is why we do not run this thing all the time)
  Click on continue
  Let the cleaner it is.

  Then, remove the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

  After that, go to hp.com and download the 10.6 complete package

  Having attached to the C4580 usb cable and select Wireless when you can.  Follow the rest by.

  I noticed problems where people have "special" characters in their password wireless.  If it fails, and you have no alphabetic characters or digital, you will need to go through the process of hpsetup ad hoc, as detailed in the video you mentioned.

  You upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1? There is an updated driver for Windows 8.1, but it's the same one that was in Windows 8.  If you installed from an earlier version of Windows, you may try to download and install the driver for Windows 8.  Here is a link to that.

  If you were already on Windows 8, then more information is needed to answer your question.  You get an error message when you try to print?  Try you print and the printer is not available or is not listed?  Error messages?

  I recently installed the new Snow Leopard on my macbook to see I have printer problems.  I tried to uninstall the HP printer and reinstall.  I can print if I connect with my USB, but I can't make it work wireless.  When I try to print wireless, printing opens and tries to print.  Then I get an error message saying that my printer is offline.  How can I make 'online '.  This error message disappears when I plug in the USB cable.

  I would really like my printer works as well as it did before Snow Leopard.  Maybe that's not possible, but I would at least the option of wireless printing.  I've been waiting with the help of HP for 20 min. twice and finally abandoned.  Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

  Isteph: The main reason for you trouble is that you send the job thanks to a USB print queue configured. Each queue on a Mac is specific to a single connection method. Printer offline is the Mac error, which means the cable is not connected (of course it wouldn't be).

  To fix this: open your menu Apple - system preferences - Print & Fax. Use the 'negative' at the bottom of the column to remove from the queue for this device. Click on the "plus" sign to search a new queue. You want to add a queue of bonjour for wireless connections. If a queue of Hello is not displayed then PrintDocs instructions above may help you to re-associate the printer to the network.

  This all-in-one is not responding when he slowed down after a few hours without exploitation. The only way to bring back to life is in power it cycle.   I recently bought a new printer C4580 wireless. I am trying to connect this printer to my laptop (Sony Vaio, Vista, WiFi, integrated) without using a router (I have not). I read that I should be able to analyse for it on my laptop and then connect to "hpsetup". But unfortunetly I can't seem to find the printer on my laptop. He returns with "windows cannot find any other networks. But my wireless works very well, as recently, I was able to connect directly to another mobile friends (via ad-hoc). Can someone give me it please help? Thank you very much!

  I think you're safe with an ad - hoc.  It is a network only between two devices, no others are allowed in.

  Following our normal wireless troubleshooting tool is the best way to solve almost all of the cases, but with this specific model with the AMD processor jump directly to make sure that update BIOS F.06 or most recent would be necessary.

  I'm sorry to hear you're having problems connecting your Deskjet 3650 printer to your new network wireless from Vodafone.

  Well, I'm sorry that's simple to make it work the way it's supposed to!

  Honestly, I don't have the knowledge and the experience necessary to solve a major problem as what you are experiencing. I have linked dozens of wireless devices and have never experienced any problems.

  The only thing I can suggest as a long shot, is to open the program windows wireless and make sure that the wireless radio is enabled in the program. Check all the settings that you can. I didn't have any available Windows XP wireless computers to tell you exactly where to look. It seems to me that the unit is installed, but the part of it is not lit.

  I suggest you open another forum topic and post your current number, so that someone with wireless troubleshooting experience hopefully will be read and be able to solve your problem.

  I have a HP Pavilion while a 23-p030na who cannot connect wirelessly.  As I work for an ISP, I made a full wireless troubleshoot on the PC before I even contacted HP.  Adapter is BROADCOM 802.11 A/G/N (2 x 2) following were considered:

  Change setting channel router (other devices connected wirelessly fine btw) bars of signal strength 5 - other available connections can be seen

  Unplug all devices connected wirelessly (if IP address conflict)

  Assign IP/DNS settings

  Restore the Auto IP/DNS

  Remove security in the router, so connection to unsecured

  Toggle adapter

  Try to connect with FON Wifi BT

  Move the PC in another room

  Update driver

  Uninstall and reinstall the driver

  Put your PC back to factory settings

  This time NO fact at all ethernet connection and attempt to connect with wireless ONLY as part of the Set Up

  HP asked me to reinstall the wireless card, but denied that this would invalidate my store warranty

  So everything I tried, failed.  So how is it when I take it back to the store I bought, he managed to connect immediately to their store in wireless?  I was sent home and said that the problem is mine - I even checked the adapter Windows log to make sure that he had REALLY connected the adapter and it showed link - success and listed the sites that he traveled.

  Now I must be missing something or a trick has been played.  Could he have used a connection that is bridged and then deleted out of networks later? Don't know.

  If the store has been able to connect and you cannot, the problem may be with your router.  Have you reset the default router or do a hard reset.

  I help manage 25 computers @ work. We affect all components of its own IP address. When you set up win 7 laptop computers that they do not give me a static ip address at the time the connection to the LAN and wireless. I get a conflict message. I put wireless static (10.141.213.xxx) and the connection to the local network to automatically get an IP address the value on the left. I use tcp/ipv4. It works for now, but these portable must also be able to be wired.

  The typical case here is that they must be hard wired but must also be mobile (wireless) troubleshooting automotive computer applications. I tried using the same address and different addresses. I think too much or not strong enough or? I'm a Newby to this site, I posted this question before, but can't find it. Thanks for all the answers and patience.
