  There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:

  • an ActiveX version for IE only
  • a plug-in version for most of the other browsers including Firefox
  • On a Windows system, you must always update both individually.

  You don't seem to have the Plugin for Firefox installed version. If you did, in the Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)".

  SAN boot is very easy. Ensure first that you have UCS connected to a fabric of fibre with support NPIV is enabled. Next, configure a policy of startup boot-from-SAN (you WWPN SAN targets) within the UCSM. Then apply this policy to a Service profile who need to boot from SAN. Once this is done, retrieve the WWPN of the Service profile in question and have the SAN area admin you a big enough for your installation of NOS LUN. Once all this is done, connect your ISO AMENDMENTS to a KVM session and start service profile. If everything is correct, the AMENDMENTS will see the LUN target like a local disk and you can begin the installation.

• I reinstalled Windows XP on my computer and it went well until I started and it requires the ID of the product that I already entered. But it gives me no place to enter the ID

  A virus has wiped out my records that "remembering" passwords and settings so I reinstalled Windows XP in order to fix things.  The installation went well; He asked my product ID, I entered, he agreed and installation (continued).  He worked all night and this morning my desktop image was rising, but no icons and no other activity.  I waited 4 hours and turn the machine off.  When I restarted it allows me to enter my password and then said: "you must first activiate this copy of Windows to continue."  Enter your product ID now? "I say Yes and it starts up less of my desktop icons.  The start menu does not appear and there is no room for re - enter the code.  Any help would be appreciated.  A big thank you James Ready

• SAN starts a B200M2 with local disk

  I have a B200M2 with two local disks in it.  Currently, I'm SAN all my startup B200M2.  If I had a few drafts to the blade, but I didn't so I go in, I'd take the local drive.  Service profile, I configure to configure my blades has the boot order using a start-up strategy that starts from SAN.  It works without problem.  I also use a local disk Configuration strategy that has no local storage.  If this model of service profile will not work with the B200M2 that has a disk in it.  So, I cloned the templace of service profile and just change the policy Configuration of Local disk to any selected item.  Can I deploy the blade properly with this model of service profile, but I get an error of blade saying 1 Local disk on the operability of the server 1/1: inoperable and Local Disk 2 on the operability of the server 1/1: inoperable.

  How can I get rid of this error?  What am I not wrong which causes this error?

• B200 M4 SAN Boot with attached local disk

  Hello

  I have a B200 M4 blade want to do boot SAN in the storage Bay. The blade has a local disk. I need maintain disk local and would like to bypass for the start of SAN. When I set up a 'political Local Disk Configuration' using 'No Local Storage"as shown in the screenshot, and when I associate the blade with a service profile, got the error:"server does not meet the requirements of local drive of the service profile". I did some research and tried a BIOS policy that can disable the SAS RAID config, but it did not work, still getting the same error. See the screenshot of error and politics of BIOS. Advice to solve this problem?

  I use UCSM 2.2 (3f).

  If you just want to bypass the drive during startup, just don't include in your startup strategy.

  No need to disable the onboard RAID controller.

  As of many SMEs, we feel the pressure from DAS and get on some sort of SAN.  We are planning an implementation of iSCSI SAN, which will probably (at least partially) kind of VSA to take advantage of our DAS ability in the new iSCSI environment.

  What are the main actors in the field of the VSA?  My Google search has turned up:

  the storage facility for vsphere (not crazy about the use of low disk space)

  FalconStor

  StarWind vsa

  Device HP LeftHand VSAN

  In addition, we consider OpenFiler/FreeNas...but it is not clear to me if he can really operate in VSAN mode (e.g. RAID between hosts, etc.)

  I just wanted to add a small clarification around the vSphere Storage Appliance. Yes, it start with a requirement of RAID10 on each host, but this was relaxed in early 2012, while it supports now also two configurations of RAID5 RAID6 & - http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2012/01/raid10-requirement-for-vsphere-storage-appliance-vsa-relaxed.html

  The point here is we do not want a failure of the single PIN to bring down a node in the cluster.

  Just in case this is the reason why you expected the vSphere Storage Appliance.

  Your hard drive is failing, fast (these things last forever). You need to replace as soon as POSSIBLE. If you have important data on what cannot be replaced I suggest you plug it into another computer as an external drive and pulling all the data you need it off.

  If you do not have the possibility to connect the drive directly on another PC, you can download a live Linux CD/USB.

  Step 1: Acquire a blank CD or USB. If you use a USB port, format it in FAT32.

  Step 2: Insert your chosen in your PC Backup media.

  Step 3: Download Unetbootin.

  Step 4: Select a distribution in the drop-down list. Just about anything will work, but for your application, I would recommend "Puppy Linux".

  Step 5: Select your media.

  Step 6: Once Unetbootin is complete, insert your media in the PC is installed on the corrupted hard drive.

  Step 7: Boot puppy. (You may need to select your Flash DRIVE or a CD in your BIOS)

  Step 8: The use of the included file manager, mount the hard drive and browse for the files you need. You can then save these on another DRIVE or a CD drive, or the internet.

  I am a newbie to vSphere 5 & am in the process of setting up a test lab. I use 2 x ESXi5 (HP 380 G5) hosts & an iSCSI SAN (380 G5).  I'm not sure of the best configuration for the entire SAN RAID. I would appreciate some recommendations on the best way to configure this small SAN lab.

  Should I create 1x1.4TB than defined R5 or a 2 x 700 GB RAID 5?  A configuration is better than the other?

  He is create 2 LUNs, one per raid array & a VMFS per LUN. I may be running on the 5-7 VM per LUN, none of the VM being I/O intensive. The hosts does not also start from SAN.

  I create a unique set of RAID5 with all 6 discs (or 5 drives + spare), and use the ACU (Array Configuration Utility) to create at least two logical volumes on this RAID set. Although it is not necessary to create multiple volumes from a technical point of view, this configuration will allow you to 'play' with features like the migration/storage vMotion in the lab environment. BTW. you will have a much better performance of disk with BBWC (512 MB or more) for the RAID controller.
