Starting to hate the internet! Best anti-ad?

I have a MacBook Air and I'm looking for something blocking the incredible number of ads that appear and redirect whenever I'm online these days. Any recommendations? I heard that anti-ad is not one that should be more.

Thank you.

Adblock of BetaFish works well for me. Available via the Safari menu > Extensions Safari.

Sorry, but clarification, hear you the browser takes a long time to start and connect, or the actual Internet connection takes a long time to set up (wireless link maybe) and dips?

What browser are you using IE9? If so, try another browser as a test as FireFox

It could be Malware so eliminate this possibility first. To update your AntiVirus and scan and then download, install, update (updated by right-clicking on its icon and 'run as administrator' then go in the tab) and run a scan with Malwarebytes.

  • My desktop under Vista Home Premium does not connect to the internet.

I have an Acer Aspire X 1200 desktop equipped with a NVIDIA NForce network controller. About 1 week ago I was browsing the internet, Norton anti-virus popped up and told me to renew my subscription. Now, I've never had Norton on my computer and when you click Remind Me later, my internet crashed. Now the whenever I plug my ethernet cable in the box, it connects to my router Motorola 5BS101 surfboard, but it does not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I tried to run malware programs remover, thinking it was a malware, nothing done. I tried to run to remove virus and nothing. I tried to change the IP address to my my laptop was broadcasting, because the internet runs on it, but no results. When using the command prompt to find out what the problem is, it says the active IP routing: routing WINS unactivated: No. looking at the stats of network adapters, it says active DHCP: No. address IPv6 local link: fe80::15f9:58e2:c2d8:66e7 10%
Autoconfiguration IPv4: 169.254.102.231. Also using ipconfig / renew, said the message DHCP is not enabled.

Are you sure you never had a Norton trial subscription on your computer?

  • Something on my system starts automatically download when I connect my system to the internet.

    Download never stops

When I make a wireless connection (or even a dial-up access) to the Internet, the download starts.  I didn't ask this, and waited to see if it stops.  It never seems to.  Even after 500 MB has been transmitted. I tried selective startup with all this that deleted except what is necessary to recognize the wireless device.  That does not fix the problem.

I turned on the firewall and Norton Antivirus.

Is it possible to trace communications to tell where it comes from?  Or any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks again - this time to Jack.

I agree that I'm probably lacks enough understanding to solve this problem in a forum like this.

PRTG Network Monitor myself to work, but can't find anything in which seems to follow the link which causes the continuous download.  Very probably, I didn't know how to use it properly - it came with a pretty important manual which I didn't read entirely, and what I've read, I found to be of a technical level that is beyond me.  It seemed to be a good piece of software and I enjoyed a chance to make a free download...

I looked your site ezlan and this was helpful.  I did start > run > msconfig and experimented with turning off of a variety of elements of start-up and also on the Services tab most of the non-Microsoft services.  Now I disabled all startup items, and on the Services tab I have disabled all non Microsoft services except Norton anti-virus and NovaCore SDK (which is needed to establish the connection of Virgin Mobile).  I left all on Microsoft services.  Needless to say that this configuration did not stop the download.

But here's a brilliant note: I stopped the download by 1) conclusion on TCPview the process ID (PID) that has been accumulating the ongoing increase received bytes, 2) with this PID, I went to Process Explorer and double clicked on the process that had this PID.  Then, on the Services tab, I read on each of the 25 - odd services that were running and a guess and stopped the BITS service.  Presto! Download stopped.   This service seems to take care of the updates for the operating system and other things, and I guess that's a rather crude way to fix things.   I see that in the start screen, I can uncheck the BITS service, and maybe I should do this to keep it from start to start.

So you can see that I have a fix of some kind, although I know I need to occasionally cancel for the Microsoft updates.  I will continue to operate in selective startup mode and you uncheck the BITS service in the section of the Service of the start window.

At the risk of taking more time, I ask a few questions (hopefully) final:

Offer a clue as to what kind of problem I have my 'fix'?

How much harm I do by removing the BITS service?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    1. what web browser do you use?

2 have had any changes made to the computer before the show?

If you use Internet Explorer, please follow the methods.

    Method 1:

If you see pop-ups suspicious, bars unwanted tools, redirects, strange results or other unexpected behavior on your computer, you may have been deceived by installing malicious software (also known as 'malware') on your computer. This behavior is known as the browser hijacking.

To correct your hijacked browser I suggest to follow the steps outlined in the article below and check if it helps to solve the problem:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/spyware/browserhijacking.aspx

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Start the computer in safe mode with network and perform antivirus analysis.

    See the link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:

    Perform an online virus scan.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 3:

Follow the steps in the link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-NZ/Windows7/Internet-Explorer-pop-up-Blocker-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 4:

    optimize Internet Explorer and check.

NOTE: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings

  • Best WiFi for the internet fiber?

We are switching internet providers of Charter, which is slow and unreliable, a fiber of 1 gig of TDS connection. Currently, we are using the modem provided by Charter (which we will return), combined with a very old AirPort Extreme of probably around 2007 and a just as old AirPort Express to extend the network, although I do not know if it is. We use an iMac connected to the internet 2010, but most of our consumption is on our iPad and iPhone, as well as the video streaming (Netflix, Plex, etc.). Due to the age and the layout of our House, it is not very easy to hard wire on television, thinking it is something that we watched in the future when we are ready for some changes.

The fiber will be installed and connected directly to the iMac, but for iPads and TV streaming, I would try to put in place the faster WiFi network, I can. What would you recommend for this? A new AirPort Extreme would be the fastest option to work with the new fiber? Or are there routers WiFi non - Apple that would work better and are not too difficult to implement?

With regard to the performance of the network that he will come down to will be the following:

    1. For broadcast on the Internet, you want a router that has a capacity of excellent data WAN - LAN throughput.
    2. You want a wireless system that provides the band total bandwidth of the best & possible rate for your home.

For the first article, I suggest that you examine various models to see which offer best WAN - LAN throughput. An easy way to do is to check the links of graphics of router and switch router in the following SmallNetBuilder site.

For diagrams of router, I suggest you choose the 'WAN to LAN flow"to the point of reference and then select FILTER for a list of routers of better performance at worst. When I did it just, it assessed the Netgear Nighthawk with a value of LAN 931,4 Mbps Wan. No consumer today router will provide 1 Gbps, but 931.4 is very close. By the way, the last (on the design of 2 years) AirPort Extreme 802.11ac just came out with only 325,5 Mbps.

On the second point, you will need to look at some benchmarks:

    • 2.4 GHz UpDown flow
    • 5 GHz UpDown flow
  • How automatically dial the internet connection in the browser firefox to start the browser in internet Explorer

I have ADSL modem broadband where I have to connect to the internet by connecting using the sequence of steps

Control Panel > network connection > create a new connection > Internet > set up my connection manually > Connect using dial-up modem OR connect using a connection braodband including user name and password required
create this connection, I must provide the user name and password provided by the ISP.

I have to dial internet connection manually after the modem set automatically connect to the local network
I found a solution for internet explore and changing the setting internet explore start automatically component internet connection that I start the internet explore.
is their in mozilla firefox an option to automatically call the internet connection that I open the firefox browser?

and there is no solution that I began my internet computer connections established automatically without having to open any browser, if this solution is not available, please tell about it.

The setting that you set in IE also affects Firefox. For example, if you set the following, and then when Firefox makes a connection request to Windows, Windows is supposed to establish the connection:

Windows Control Panel > Internet Options > connections or

Internet Explorer Tools menu > Internet Options > connections

"Dial whenever a network connection is not present"

No, it's a scam, ignore the call.

    (1) it is an impossible question to answer.  There are constantly new threats, and constant updates the anti-virus tools.  Find a good source of technical reviews that you like and make your own decision.  This forum is for MSE, one of these tools, it is well noted.

    (2) download and run the safety of MS Scanner and download and install and run Malwarebytes anti-malware free edition to scan your PC.
Yes, both.  And once you are clean, choose a realtime antivirus and install it as soon as POSSIBLE.  (These are both on the scanners in demand, good to control the double and for presumed infections who are ignorant or deactivation of your scanner in real-time).
